The summer time because everything is just alot nicer, and around 3-4 days.

No I did not. The fan festival is of course a very interesting event for a ffxi player, and Im sure would be alot of fun if I went.

Previews of alot of new things being planned.

Ive been playing just over 4 years, highest jobs are 75 PLD, 75 WAR.
2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Lasalle Ontario Canada, I'd be willing to travel to a FF event if it wasnt too far away.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Best time for an event would have to be summer and on a 3 day/holiday weekend
4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I did not attend, but the Fan Festivals seem pretty cool.
5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I have no idea what to suggest for a live event because Ive never been to one.

Portland Metropolitan Area of Oregon, I'd certainly be willing to travel out-of-state, provided enough warning ahead of time is given so I can plan time off from work/get reasonable airline rates.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Sometime not so close to the holidays, it's always difficult to justify time off around the holidays, especially if you've already planned family-oriented time off as well. Spring/Summer seems like a more convenient time.
2-3 days would be nice, just to justify the travel costs.
4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Wasn't able to get tickets to it, it sold out too fast. The day I found out about the tickets going on sale, was also the day that tickets sold out. I'd like it if they could set up some sort of mailing list on the fanfest website, so that those of us with shoddy memories/jobs that prevent us from being able to play every day can get updates w/out having to remember to visit the site.
The event seemed pretty spiffy, though I admit to not being terribly interested in the coverage of it, simply because I was too bummed that I wasn't able to get tickets to go.
5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I did go, and I thought it was pretty good. I loved how well organized the event was in general, and it was quite refreshing from the crowded bodies of previous years. I have been playing FFXI for almost 6 years now (NA PS2 release) plus Beta. I have THF, DRG and BRD at 75 currently and a bunch around 60 I am working on.

I think I started right around the time that Chains of Promathia was released, so that'd make it November of 2004. I have 3 jobs at 75: Warrior, Paladin, and Dark Knight.

Believe me, Im a fan, I just don't really like other fans ;)

I'm really not sure what you could possibly do to entice me to come to an event, but then again I play an online game because of my distaste for people in general. So a gathering of people all in one place offers very little to my liking. Perhaps private dances from girls dressed as Mithra? Or a new Avatar that only people who went to fan fest would get? Believe me, Im a fan, I just don't really like other fans ;)

Been playing since Feb. 2004. Currently at 75 with pld, drk, war, sam, and dnc.
2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
D/FW, Texas, area. I'd travel if I could get a good flight rate and had not only enough notice but could secure a ticket in advance.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summers are always a nice time. Spring or Fall are decent too as they'll be a little cooler. A weekend event would be a nice thing.

I was not able to attend as I didn't get a ticket. From reading the live blogs and seeing pictures of things it looked like an interesting time. Wish I could have gone!

I can't imagine y'all could tease us with things too far ahead but the short play testing is a nice thing to have. Perhaps holding the event itself in different locations, such as on the East coast or somewhere else across the country, like maybe Texas! :p

Yes I did attend the Fan Festival 2008. I think it was quite enjoyable this year having to chat with fellow players. Especially the TaruTaru Cards was like a way to break the ice- to speak to other players. Although the area was quite small and short the event, wished it was longer like the previous Fan Festival like 06' and 07'. Many of my friends who attended last year Fan Fest were unable to attend this year.
5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Would like to see some more live and ingame events like the previous Fan Festivals- The TaruTaru Marathon, Heroes Combat, Taru Tarot Cards and Live Group Quests. Also looking forward to another live concert, especially the Star Onions =).

3. I'd prefer a summertime event but would be willing to attend an event at anytime if its close enough
4. I didn't attend the Fan Festival 2008. The coverage I saw of the Maze related event was funny but it was hard to really follow all of the aspects of the festival otherwise
5. Maybe some interactive events between those attending the event and those stuck at home/work etc to make those of us not there feel like we can participate in it anyway, would be good content to add to live upcoming events
