1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

Almost 5 years
BST and BLM 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Near Pittsburgh, PA
Yes I would travel, as long as it's within reason

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Spring/Summer - Like May/June and I think a weekend for them is fine.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No I didn't although I kept up with it via the forums. I was actually a little disappointed in it, I was hoping for more information to come out about the "expansions" and not so much about MMM.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

More information about the "expansions" and more info about the new avatars.

PM or e-mail, doesn't matter, whichever is fastest and more efficient.

1. Approximately 4 years, 70WHM

2. CT, USA - I am willing to drive anywhere in New England and fly anywhere else on the east coast, but I can't justify going out to the west coast.

3. A 2-3 day weekend event during early summer would be great.

4. I didn't attend this year. The revelation of the new expansions was exciting, and I enjoyed Alla's dev panel interview.

5. Developer interviews are fun, even if the information isn't groundbreaking or earth-shattering. I like to know what goes on behind the scenes, why certain decisions are made, and ultimately to see that the developers are every bit as dedicated to FFXI now as they have always been. I think a "Meet the GMs" event would be fun, and maybe a live appearance by Maat (staff members could drop testimonies!).

Email preferred.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since the day after it came out in the US. That would be about what, 5 1/2 years.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in Medford, Oregon. I don't mind traveling at all, if I can afford it. It would have to be a trip for 2, cuz my bf loves the game and wouldn't let me go with out him. :D

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I would prefer events to be held February - August. September - January are blackout dates from our jobs. I'm sure there are many of us, especially those in retail that these are no-go dates.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Unfortunately, we could not attend. We haven't been able to go to any of them since they have been held in October and December. Christmas season for some of us.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

We've never been able to attend but have read the news on Alla about them so I'm not sure exactly what events you have had. Events where you get to meet other players is cool. Live competitions between servers and/or linkshells would be cool. A gallery area to show off the awesome talents of some of the FFXI player/artists would be interesting. Brainstorming sessions with the developers. There are some gaming gods out there that have a lot of great ideas. You might as well abuse them. :D Those that attend get awesome gifts, how about some gifts for those of us that can't. A special in-game event during the festival with prizes that only players that did not attend can aquire or a chance for those of us with holiday controlled jobs to do an event to get the in-game prizes offered at the festival. An event that those of us that can't go can do, where we can send something in to introduce ourselves to those at the festival. You could then do a contest involving that to. Also, my pc was built pretty much just to play the game, so any extra stuff plays really slow. How about a DVD from the event that we can order so we can feel like we were there. Charge a low price, like lets say $10 plus s&h, and send us some goofy in-game gift (not chocopasses, lol) and let us be there with you. Maybe some training for those of us that aren't gaming gods, on how to best play our characters. Tricks of the trade so to speak.

Please contact me at my email account. Thanks

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Most people say summer im sure but i think winter. Alot of people kinda hole themselves up to beat the cold. It would be nice to have something to go to. 2/3 days is nice. Not tool long, not to short.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
No. Money was tight and kinda far away. From what ive seen and what friends have told me, it looked great. Wish i coulda gone.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Contests, contests, contests. Swag is always great. As long as the event isn't the same as past events, thats what matters. One thing i hate is seeing the same old being done at events ya know.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been in Vana'Diel since nearly the beginning, November 2003. If only I were living in Japan at the time, it would have been even closer to launch than that. I have a few 75 jobs now, Summoner, White Mage, Black Mage, and a few others well on their way.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Currently New York, and I certainly would and have before.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Summer tends to be the best time to get a few days off to hit a nice event. Though the fall is just as good.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Unfortunately I was not able to attend this year. Hopefully next time though, so much to do and so much good times to be had.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Maybe some sort of ludicrous scavenger hunt would be fun. Actually being able to get some insight from developers on lesser known item effects and suggestions for future additions. How about some sort of elaborate contest where one or more "winners" can be made into or help create a future mob or NPC in the nation/township of their choice? Sorta like "Hey you know that one Hume knight walking the tower wall in North Sandy? That's me!" or "That weird NPC cactuar in Norg that no one knows why he's there? That's me!" or something.

Since the release of the pc version in NA. 2 level 75 jobs: BST and NIN

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Washington and yes.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Spring or Summer. Two days maximum.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No. It sounds like it was good. I did not attend because there was not enough notice and December is a bad time due to expenses I already have for Christmas.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

More SE product available and enough for sale. At the first event, one item didn't arrive until the end of the 1st day, and the other items sold out very early, leaving many people wishing to purchase them unable to.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since NA release.
Both RDM & BLM are lvl 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

In NJ and I am willing to travel to events. A New York area event would be great.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I think Sept or May since weather is nice. It is also offseason for most areas and makes it cheaper to fly. A weekend is always good. You have a few days for the event and to see LS members.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No tickets sold out to fast. I think the events are great and a lot of fun. Would be nice to start having them in other areas of the country.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I would like to see a larger venue so more players could attend as well as more locations. Maybe 2 events a year one on West and one on East Coast.

More involvement with premiere sites and podcasts. Maybe Have some cross server type events like a ballista or something. A costume party or some type of party where players can have fun with their LS friends and meet others on their server.

I would like to be contacted by email...Thank you.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be? Live events should be held in the late summer or early autumn in North America for the best conditions overall. 1-2 days in duration.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event. No, unfortunately I did not attend. From my limited knowledge of the event it went well and was well received.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I have played FFXI since June of 2004.
I currently have four jobs at 75: WHM, BRD, SMN and BLM.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in southeastern Nebraska, and would consider traveling to live events based on the distance, travel expenses dictate if I could attend.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
1-3 day events would be neat, Non-winter months would be best, for better travel conditions.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I did not attend Fan Festival 2008. I followed all the news as did many others though, especially the Q&As and the costume contest. I really like how the developers focus so much on the players and are so available to players attending the festival.
I would love to attend a fan festival but its just to far away for me.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Hmm I do think that SE should try to arrange a fan festival for our fellow European players. I like what I have read about the current formats used by SE. I do wish, especially if its gonna be a one day event... that more dates in varied locations would be arranged.

Edited to add this: Please contact via Email.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since PS2 launch and I have White Mage, Bard and Summoner to 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in Reno, NV and I would certainly be willing to travel to California for such an event. I might go further afield depending on the sorts of events being held.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I have no particular preference for time of year, Fan Fest being so late in the year and so close to the holidays makes it kind of hard to squeeze in though so perhaps earlier in the fall would be nice. Two to three days would be cool. I could make a vacation of it.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I did not, though I would have liked to. I sat on my hands wondering about whether or not I should long enough for all the tickets to sell out (which in my defense was not very long at all.) It looked like quite a lovely event, my only complaint was the (typical) guardedness with which the devs approached answering questions, and releasing news. Otherwise it looked like a ton of fun.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

the events they have now are good; in game items, special game events, concerts news releases, that sort of thing. Competitions, like cos-play, fan art and maybe a video contest, would be cool.

Please let us know whether you wish to be notified via Allakhazam.com PM or email.

East Ridge, TN. Money willing, I certainly would. Especially if anything came available on the East Coast.

Spring or fall. Three days or so.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I didn't. I thought there was plenty of interesting information. People look like they have a great time over there, and its always exciting to see the folks who could go eagerly updating on all the tidbits they find.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in southern Florida, and am willing to travel out of the state to attend a live event. However, I do wish there was an east coast event...

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I've been playing since the December after the NA Release so...5 years now? 5 jobs at 75 (MNK, SAM, BLM, THF, NIN) and most other jobs at 41-43 or 60-65 except sch, which is at 35. 1543 days /playtime! (/^_^)/

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Texas and I've attended the last 2 fan fests. I got a picture of Sage Sundi each time! Wooo.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
I would have preferred the fan fest to be held slightly earlier (Oct/Nov) or later (Feb/March). I'd really like the fest to be 2 days. The 2008 fest was a little short, but more on that in answer 5.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Yes, I really enjoy meeting with the various ffxi players and the dev team. However, I felt that this year's fan fest was too short for reasons which I'll explain in answer 5.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Compared to fan fest 2007, the 2008 one seemed to have very little to do. I'd love to see a return of the Live Quest, Tarutaru marathon, Atmos Challenge, Mithra Photo Booth, etc. Outside the fun of meeting the devs, most of the actual information they provide is fairly irrelevant (after all, it's on the internet within minutes of the panels...new information is probably the worst reason to attend the convention).

Even though I wasn't selected for the Atmos thing or the tarutaruthon, I still got a huge kick out of watching them. It's unforunate but both the MMM and Swarm events barely took any time and MMM in particular failed to impress due to the limited # of options we were able to explore given the time constraints.

The thing is, the most fun I had at the 2007 fest was the live quest. We got to meet new people, run around like dorks for a few hours, and do FFXI themed puzzles and stuff. It was great fun. :D

1.) I have been playing FFXI since September, 2004. Just passed the 4 year mark in Sept 2008 a few months back. I have two jobs at the level cap , Paladin and Monk are both level 75. I also have many levels spread across other jobs, 8 of which are 37+(halfway mark, obviously) which does not include the already mentioned PLD and MNK.

2.) I live in Missouri. I am willing to travel out of state to events, but would prefer it be within driving range(maybe 1-2 day's trip).

3.) I would prefer a Live event be 2-5 days long. Having a 5 day event with repeating content could allow for multiple groups of tickets to be sold, so more people can attend! I would probably prefer it in the early spring months, because not many hotels will be pre-booked, to make it easier to find hotel listings. It would be nice to know of Fan Fests as much as 4 or 6 months in advance to help people book hotels for the area!

4.) I did not attend the Fan Festival 2008. I think it didn't stand out in my mind too much, because I wasn't there. However, there also wasn't a lot of new exciting information to learn, so that might be why it wasn't so exciting. I'm not saying I expect exciting new information at each Fan Fest, though. Perhaps it could have been more lively if there were more Q&A sessions, or if the developers would open up a little more and expand on answers to some questions. For example, when asked about a certain aspect of gameplay, if they can't answer thats fine, but it'd be nice to hear them discuss some ideas they have for changing things around in the future, or maybe the original thought process they had, behind a related gameplay aspect.

5.) Wups, kind of answered 5 in #4 there. I think it would be really cool if SE held more fan contests, either another video contest, or other fan art contests of some sort; held online for all but the final round- then offer to pay travel and hotel arrangements to the finalists so they can attend the fan fest for the final round! Or, skip the travel/hotel and have a better reward, like a tiered reward from the mog bonanza. Maybe a tier 2, or a tier 3 item, instead of the big grand prize 100mil or something.(that's kind of too big lol)

Email or PM is fine for notification. I think I'd prefer Email for record keeping purposes. =O

I live in Brandon, Mississippi and would travel to an event.

In the summer. 2-3 days.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I did not attend. I think these events are great. I just wish they would have an east coast one.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

More battles. I would also like to see the Ballista Royale finals (of course they would have to have a Ballista Royale first).

Please contact me through allakhazam.
