1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

About four years. I have MNK/DRG/RNG at 75 now (:O soon to be COR), and almost capped merits on all of them. ;;>.> But DRG was my first if that is what you meant.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Live in Dallas, Texas. It depends, if it is cheap-ish absolutely, but yeah... this last fanfest would of been around $1,000 for a one day event. I'm poor, can't quite pull that off (especially week before finals start).

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I would prefer them in the summer to be honest. Full time college student, as well as working full time kinda sucks when fan-fest is near the end of the semester when I have finals and such. It just makes it hard to attend then.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I didn't personally attend fan-fest this year, but I know a couple who did. Overall it seemed kinda cool and I really wanted to go (to play around with MMM or the new mythic weapons at the very least <.<;), but personally I didn't find it as informative as the past ones have been.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Dunno, never been to one lol. But I have heard a lot of cool things, like someone was talking about how there was a "live quest" that had people running around like a quest from FFXI and that seems like it would be fun.

Personally I think there should be an even mix of fun stuff (like the mentioned live quest) and information given. Fan-fest just wouldn't be the same if there wasn't some spoilers given or they didn't answer fan questions... though "Can we have a cheese sandwich?" doesn't really count as a question in my opinion -.-;

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

Since PS2 release. 75 BLU, MNK, and THF. THF was my first job to 75 although I began as a MNK. (Damn Brady Guide failed to mention the second half of 'being a Taru Monk is a challenge'...and not much fun without a lot of gil to buy gear to help offset race deficiencies.)

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Harrisburg, PA. I'd travel several hours (D.C., Baltimore, N.Y.) but not if it took a plane or half a day to get there.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Anytime but winter. Traveling in crappy weather sucks. 2 days are good for an event.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No, I didn't attend. But, would like to (see answer number 2). I read all about the event and it seems great and informative. But, I'm guessing it's more fun to actually be there.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Not having been to one, it would be kinda hard to say. All the stuff I read about seems cool. I think I would need to attend one before I decided if anything should be changed or added.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
A: I attended. I enjoyed it. I would have liked more items for purchase in the store but other than that everything else was great!

I have played on and off since the ps2 release. Forget exact date. My highest is a 75 Black Mage.

I live in Pennsylvania. Depending where it is. If it is only a few hour drive maybe but past that it would be doubtful.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Anytime of the year would be fine with me. Events over a week or weekend would seem to be the best to me.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No I did not attend. The Festival sounds like it was as cool as always. However this year I did not follow the event aside from reading a brief description of the event.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Doesn't really matter to me. I am sure if I was there I would do them but nothing specific I can think of that would make a good live event.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
Playing since March 2004. Highest job is White and Red Mages @75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I reside in Pennsylvania, and could make it to live events as long as there is a 2 month notice to warn my employer XD

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
I prefer them to be in the fall, and 2-3 days would be great. More time to enjoy the company of fellow players.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I could not attend, but it seemed like the event was a lot of fun, and will definitely try to attend next year's.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I would like to see an introduction to upcoming new content, and also more fun stuff like the infamous Tarutaru marathon, or special battlefields.

E-Mail notification please!

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I started a few months after NA release, and I have White Mage / Blue Mage / Paladin at 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in the Midwest; I'd be willing to travel out of state, but I can't afford to road trip to either coast (I've always hoped for even an auxiliary one in say, Chicago).

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
I think summer would work best, due to travel conditions and the fact that most FFXI players I know are college students of some variety.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I did not attend, but I read the info from it. It seemed a little lacking this year compared to previous years, but the event itself sounds entertaining.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Having never been to one yet, I wouldn't be sure even what to expect. Anything that gets players to interact would be interesting; it seems poorly planned that SE ignores this side of the country with these events, when there seems like there'd be plenty of demand for one. As previous posters have mentioned, the whole "in-game rewards for real money" bit is also a bit unfair and unnecessary; I'd be happy with just the event itself, even on a smaller scale.

Please notify me by email.

Since November 19, 2003! Old fart powah! Only have PLD and MNK at 75, though. Smiley: laugh

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Miami and if I can afford it, then yes. :(

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Well, I'd say summer because I hate the cold, and a week long festival would be made of win. Smiley: nod

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No... ._. I caused a big headache for those that did go, though? /epicfail

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Events that let you use the character that you leveled! They copied over everyone into the Atomos server for Ballista, why not for other events? Copy everyone attending to the Atomos server and host a series of events! Lv1 runs through Ifrit Cauldron, Assault Matches, on site Ballista....just anything that gives us the chance to show off our work in front of a live studio audience.

Oh, PM on this site would be best. Smiley: nod

Been playing since January 06 and I have multiple lv75 jobs.

Preferably anytime, except for during when people traditionally have exams in college/post-grad/high school. (Biased here >>)

I did not attend.

I felt that it was announced with far too short of notice for me to be able to make suitable arrangements economically in order to come. I wish it had been announced sooner.

The fact that the tickets were sold out almost immediately was also another thing I disliked. More tickets, please!

The length of the event seemed to be too short. Why wasn't it longer? To fly, book a room, etc, the event should last longer than a couple of days.

The content was fine, from what I've seen.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

Since NA release basically. Three Lv. 75 Jobs: Monk, (fully merited with faith torque), Paladin, (1st NA Lv 75 Galka Paladin on Ifrit with Caliburn and close to Excalibur after 2+ years), and 75 Ranger (3/4ths merited with all RA/EX bows except relic.)

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in Boca Raton, Florida. Semi retired old, old surfer dude,(yes Pikko I was surfing North Shore with Mark Richards and Gary Lopez before most here were born...Long Live the 1984 North Shore Tsunami Toad Warriors!^^.) And yes, I am available for travel to attend events

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I was thinking of Spring Break. But there probably would be too much hysteria at a Spring Break event for most people since this is a time for that certain, special "right of passage." Hence, I would think early or late summer when hotel rates would be below peak prices and booking. A good event schedule might be several 2- 3 day venues within 5-10 day event schedule. More people can come to the overall event and perhaps stay 2-4 days for a specific venue.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Despite an American Express Platinum card... "Sold Out." But I was able to follow on Alla. What did I think?... Costumes were interesting... could be perhaps better. If your going to have people on stage... have some backdrop animation on a screen, sound effects, and/or better lighting. If these people are going work their backsides off to make a costume...give them some theatrical support. More interaction with developers would be nice. Always wishing for the most intense graphics.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Please, please, please... Bring Back Ballista Royale... WE WANT A REMATCH ^^. Indeed, nothing breeds excitement like an international based tournament venue. And Second... HOW ABOUT HOSTING AN EVENT IN MIAMI?... (Better Hotels, Better Beaches, Better Booze, Better Night Life and, ahem, more to look at ^^.) FFXI is now cash flow positive and enjoyed by a multitude of people. One would think they could put a little more content into the events. No offense, but it seems SE was generating more excitement and fun at events,(probably due to game marketing), in the first years before profitability... And if SE is having problems with their business model...give me a call

Please feel free to contact me via Alla or email

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I participated in the PS2 beta test and have been playing since the PS2 launch. My highest job is 75THF.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Birmingham, Alabama and I am willing to travel if I can afford the time off work.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summer's best for anything! 3 days at least. That way you've got enough time to see everything because you know there's going to be lines to wait in...

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I did not attend. I wanted to very badly, but I figured that having money to buy food and pay rent was way more important. Sadly.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
It really depends on what kind of content SE is releasing next year around that time. I'd always like to be a part of a sneak peek. And I'd like to see some kind of PvP. That's always fun.

If I win (fingers crossed!) please contact me by email.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

Since just after it came out for PS2, darned if I can remember exactly when o.O' and my highest level is 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I am in CA so been to all ffxi events until this last one, when they were stingy with tickets :( but I would be willing to go out of state for the sake of meeting up with friends.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I like them at times with mild weather, and I think 2 days was good because we didn't feel so rushed, but not so long that we got sick of each other/ overly burdened with hotel costs.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No, I think they were awful to make it so small that the tickets were instantly gone because I really wanted to go!

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I would like to see more of the group activities, they are a large part of what make ffxi great and I always meet fun people that I may not have been brave enough to speak to without that little push.

Either email or pm is fine, I check both daily.

I have been playing since around the North American Release and currently have RDM and BLM both at 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I'm in Rolla, Missouri. A small town but several friends play and got me into it. I'd be willing to travel out of state to attend an event.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I would prefer events to be during non holiday times. I currently work in a retail environment and the Fan Fest fell during a blackout time for vacations for our company. Late Spring or Summer would be an ideal time.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Due to vacation blackouts mentioned above I did not, but a friend did attend and from what he said I really liked the way it was done.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Most people (myself included) Look forward to developer interviews, and Q&A. The contests are great to see the creativity. Perhaps having the development team come up with a Vision of Vana'diel presentation which outlines a vague but long term vision for their idea of the world would be nice.

I would prefer to be contacted Via E-mail, However I will receive messages at both places.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

Since January, 2004. I have 10 level 75 jobs.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

San Diego, California. The farthest I'd be willing to go is probably within a state or two, some where I could drive too within a day. However, I was going to attend this years fan festival in my own backyard, but tickets sold out too fast. (please don't let this happen again!)

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Summer time. And 2 day events are always nice in my opinion.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No, and I thought it was very discouraging that the tickets sold out so fast, and that they didn't plan for more people. I was planning on going.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

PvP Contests, Contests of skill, to see who can take down certain foes the best, fastest, etc. Demo's by Square Enix them self, the DEV Q&A is always nice, but it would also be nice if they could actually answer some of our questions and give us some good news instead of a lot of "We can't say" and "We have NO plans too-", because people need encouraging news. This is just a game after all, and the better people are made to feel, the better the word spreads, and the better the game itself does.

New Content and teasers for people to test out. And it would also be nice if they always had some kind of content along the lines of an expansion to announce. Vana Diel is a lovely place, and people love hearing about it expanding every so oftne. There is still so much for us to see and do in Vana Diel, Square Enix needs to take advantage of this instead of worrying so much about their next MMO.

Best way to contact me on here is VIA PM.

4. No, I had a ticket but it sold out so quickly that a friend that I was going to drive down with couldn't get one. So thus we both didn't go.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job? close to 4 years now, highest job is 75THF and 75NIN

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events? Northeastern Ohio, and if I had money I'd travel anywhere for events

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be? Summer time, 2-3days

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event. No, and was unable to follow much of the event due to recent deployment and lack of internet.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I would like to see revamped 2hrs. Make the not so useful ones a bit more worthwhile. Such as Mijin Gakure, yeah it's a nice free warp, but how's that supposed to help your party in a sticky situation? Would rather see it turned into something were the ninja gets more haste for utsusemi or something along those lines.

Contact via email please.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing for five years and my highest jobs are paladin, monk, dragoon, and ninja at 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in southern California and would be willing to travel out of state for events.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Depending on the local climate, spring or fall would probably be the best time of year. I like the one to two day events.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event?

I did attend. I thought it was pretty fun and reasonable for a one day event. I was shocked at how quickly tickets sold out. The scheduling idea for MMM and lunches made things pretty easy. The art gallery was great. I wish there had been a much wider variety of merchandise. Also, the name badges ><. The server name should have been in much larger text.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Maybe some server vs server events could also be planned for the future, just to add some additional fun. I missed the previous fanfests, but the scavenger hunts, and such, sounded like fun. Events that encourage players to socialize and interact. The cards were a nice /nod in that direction.
