2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I reside in Brooklyn NYC and I would travel anywhere that would not be more then 12 hours driving. Actually, I would go anywhere but I rather not.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Probably during the Spring so we don't have the extreme heat of summer or extreme lack of heat during winter. Of course that's assuming its somewhere where the seasons will drastically affect the weather

Sadly the tickets were sold out before I even knew they started selling them, so I didn't get to go. But from what I heard it was a nice event and had more of a community feel to it

I would love for there to be more sort of interaction between FFXI and the rl. Kinda like the quest thing but...idk, SE is a smart company and I'm sure they can make a GREAT event that incorporates our FFXI lives with our RL at least for that day.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events? I live in Orlando, Florida and if the cost was reasonable, I'd definitely travel to attend a live event.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be? I think the summer would be a good time. It's a time where a lot of people are on vacation and are more willing to travel. A weekend-long event would be fun. Something between Friday-Sunday or maybe even just Saturday-Sunday.

I was disappointed in the developer panel. It was nice to see the guys all smiling and proud of their game. However, spending 45minutes of a panel regurgitating whats already on the web (for the most part), was disappointing. I also felt like the questions were a bit too well picked. I would like to see live question and answer session, and more interaction with the developers, perhaps a round table with a few people randomly picked from each server, from sacks from ls, etc.
The events were ok, but a bit buggy. It was strange seeing lines for looking at art. It would be nice to see more variety, and for things like the swarm, set up as a tournament style competition (open, take top 60 team scores, then bracket style competition).
I went to fanfest back in 2006, and I really enjoyed the naked taru run, think you should bring that back. Really hated the "live quest", so glad to not see that.
I also was a bit disappointed in the items for sale. I was looking forward to moogle plushies and maybe hats, and different character items.

Having not attended it directly but reading about it, it seems comparable
to the previous two events. Meeting fellow aadventurers in person, looks
at upcoming content, and plenty of fun to be had the entire event long,
my thoughts are that it must have been another amazing success and I only
wish I could have been there ^^ One dissapointment I had was that the
last two festivals featured expansion packs while this one only featured
the coming update, and while the 3-in-1 expansion pack was announced, it
was hardly elaborated on.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I've been playing since the American release on PS2 but am currently playing on PC. My character is a Tarutaru 75WAR, 65DRK, 59PLD, 49SAM, 47COR, 39DRG, 38WHM, 37NIN, 37THF, 35RNG, 20BST, 18BLM, 18MNK, 14RDM, 9SMN, 1BRD.
2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Southern California and am definitely willing to travel out of state to attend live events time permitting.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
I prefer events be held in the Spring or Fall. It's too hot to cosplay in the summer and the winter is for snowboading :P
4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Cosplay contest! Look like your character. (No Subligars for Galkas!!!!)

Been playing off and on for 2 years now. Currently don't have my character due to missing authentication code. I had one level 75 pld and a level 63 blm
2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Oh Canada! BC to be specific. I would attend a live event if it wasn't too long of a trip and I had the financial means to do so.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summer. No classes and its easier to get time off work then. Having not previously been to a live event, I'm not exactly sure which I'd prefer. If I had to guess, Id say 2 days seems about right
4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I did not attend but the coverage between sites was really good! The speculation was pretty enjoyable to read!
5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I like the idea of special BCNMs like fighting the serpent generals and the storyline NPC's.

Playing since March '05. I have RDM and SMN to 75, soon to be MNK too. RDM was and is my "main" job.
2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?Mid-west/Rocky Mountains in the US. And depends on which state it's in. Probably won't go past bordering states, but nothing ever comes to the mid-west besides Distant Worlds.
3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?Spring Break, so March-April. It's the only time I don't have school or work, so I wouldn't have to bend over backwards planning around it. 2-3 days for any serious travel, preferably.
4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event. Nope, too far to travel too. The events were plenty interesting, but the Q&A stuff was incredibly underwhelming compared to the info released before and after online, and at previous events.
5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events? Hmm... better released info, better previews of upcoming content (Well, any preview of upcoming content).

Let's see... This is my 3rd year, I believe. My highest job is 71 WHM.

Nope, I didn't. I was disappointed that there was no video contest this year and that it was only one day. Since it would have probably cost around $1000 for airfare, a room and food for the mere 2 days I'd be there, it made it really not worth it.

Video contests. More video contests. Muahaha. How about a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to be a GM?

I've been playing on and off for five or six years. My highest level job is Black Mage 63. I'm just slow at leveling -.-;

I live in the Maryland, Washington DC area. I'd be willing to travel out of state, provided it was within distance that I could drive.

Well for live events I would prefer a convention sort of thing. Where it's three days of just pure content, panels, concerts, etc. As for time of the year, the only bad time for me now would be during the holiday season. So many people to visit, not enough time to go convention hopping :X

I'm not sure if they had this at fan fest or not, but things like running an endgame linkshell panel, meeting directors and designers, maybe different meeting areas where people of different servers can meet each other (Like I could meet the people on fairy for example). I would look at things that anime conventions do and sort of mix that with a big LAN and you would have a good event.

Queens, NY and I'm more than willing to attend live events out of state. Do it every year for Anime Next =3

Spring-Summer, this way there are no complaints of how cold the weather is and typically, I would like events to last a whole weekend (Friday through Sunday evening).

Nope... My thoughts on the event are mostly: "Why can't the east coast get just 1 of these?" I was not home for most of the day either but after reading the blog, I thought it was rather disappointing compared to 07's Fan-fest. The Q&A was rather disappointing this year and made things seem rather not worth it this year.

Would love to see much better questions that were asked at the Q&A along with a longer schedule so this way it does not seem like a waste, and perhaps an actual segment where we can see the development teams can demonstrate exactly how things were done in the AV video lol. But in all seriousness, if anything else, live events should be longer so the players can get more bang for their buck. Either e-mail or PM is fine and good luck to everyone =3

I got FF 11 the day that it was released in the U.S. October 28th 2003. So I guess I have been playing for about five years. My highest level is 63.

I live in Austin, Texas. My husband and I have been saving up for the past three months so we can go to the next convention.

I would like them to be in the spring or fall, because it would not be to hot/cold, also many people would be on spring break… ect. I think a three day event would be sufficient.

Sadly, I did not. I cried for day’s cus we could not afford to go. But I hope we can next year.
