1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

Been playing since 2-24-05. BLU 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Texas. I would love to if it was within a few states. But they are always in CA. I don't have the funds to take a weekend trip half way across the us.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I don't mind any time of the year, just so long as it's a weekend. 2-3 Days would be great.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No, I was unable to go. But if it was closer I would have.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I like events that are interactive with the dev team. I like to see their opinions on things and the thought process they go through when they talk about a design or an upcoming event.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I have been playing Final Fantasy XI since March 14, 2004. My highest level jobs are 75 Samurai, Monk, and Black Mage.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I currently live in Honolulu, Hawaii, and I am unable to travel out of state to attend live events, due to cost factors.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

It would be awesome if live events were held over the summer, as this would appeal to those who have classes to worry about. I'm not quite sure how many days I would like these live events to cover over; it doesn't really matter much to me.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I was unable to attend the Fan Festival 2008, although I think that the Fan Festival provided an excellent variety of activities and events for the attendees.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I can't give quality feedback regarding this, since I was unable to attend any previous live events.

Please let us know whether you wish to be notified via Allakhazam.com PM or email.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I created Elipsis on March 25th, 2004 and have been playing since then. My highest level job is a 75 Dancer, 75 Corsair, and 75 White Mage (in that order, if you want to include meriting in 'level' X))

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Brockville, Ontario Canada, and if I had the money and could afford it, I'd totally be willing to attend events Stateside.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summer! And 3-5 days at least.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
It's impractical (and out of my budget) to attend any Fan Festivals, so I didn't go. Watching the coverage I was quite jealous of those who got to go, because it looked like it was a lot of fun, and even better than the one put on in 2007.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Ohio, and I'd gladly travel to an east coast event. I'd probably try to attend a europe event, too.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Doesn't really matter, but preferably summer. A full weekend would be nice.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No. Thought the Q&A sessions were really, really horrible this year, and the whole event just sounded very lacking from what I've seen reported. Past fanfests seemed a lot more fun.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I'd love to see FFXI-based competitions for prizes. Ballista with a stock character, or some sort of event quest or HNM team fight, and the winners get prizes. Other than that, concerts please!

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I've been playing since NA PC release, so 5 years. My highest level jobs are WHM,RDM,BLM,SMN,COR,NIN,SAM,WAR at 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in south TX, and yes, I am more than willing :)

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
My first preference would be sometime in the Fall, October or November. Also summer would not be bad.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Yes I did attend this year. My only disappointment with this event was that it was only one day. Otherwise I thought it was informative and it was great to see faces to all the players.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
More live questing, similar to what they had at Fanfest 2007. More contests as well :)

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since very near PC release. My jobs are 75 PLD WAR BRD SCH, respectively leveled.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

North Carolina. I'm not much of a road trip kind of guy... and my job prevents me from doing that whenever I want.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Any time of the year wouldn't matter much to me. It's all the same. I suppose Thursday through Sunday would be optimal. I liked how comic con set that up.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No. It seemed to be good. We need more of them, and in rapid succession to hammer the developers. More public displays of their faults can only be a good thing.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

More time for the Dev's to be hammered with legitimate questions.

PM is fine.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
Since around NA PS2 release, so I guess 4-5 years? I mean, I remember the adverse reaction to the new NA PS2 users, akin to the reaction to the new 360 users, but more vitriolic. Anyway, 75 DRG is my highest job, and only 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Tallahassee, Florida, and quite honestly not too terribly far. Unemployed college student, so not exactly huge on the money front. I guess any of the close states- Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Any time during which there's a break in my school schedule. Spring Break time, summer months, and the like. A day or two tops, for me. But I think it's reasonable for them to last longer for other people.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
It's a bit far off for me, so no. I like the idea of the event, though. Big sort of get-together where you can meet fellow players and watch people have fun in costume. Well, plus the whole playtesting and question-answer setups. So I'm pro-Fan Festival.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I'd love to give some input here, but I really can't think of anything to make them better. I suppose a more in-depth interview session with the devteam would be nice. Perhaps them beating AV live.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since about June 2005, my highest job is a 75 Paladin.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Currently I live in California. It depends how far the event is held, 10 hours driving would probably be about the limit at this time.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Summer is always a nice time for events, or late spring since it's away from large holidays and during breaks in school. I prefer events to be 2-3 days, as if I have to travel, I do prefer if the time traveling would not be greater than the time of the event.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No, it was situated right before my school finals. While I heard that there wasn't as much content presented this year as opposed to last year, it sounded as though it was fun for the people who went.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I haven't been able to participate in the previous Fanfests due to school, but I heard about the various party events they held so people could intermingle with one another that sounded fun. What I usually see when an industry comes to my campus is Presentation of Material > Open Q&A which works fairly well.

So I suppose to put it simply: Events that allow player participation and informative Dev Panels.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I've been playing FFXI since PC NA Launch, Oct 2003. My highest jobs are MNK/SCH/WHM75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Central Texas, but I've traveled out to California for all three FanFests held there. I often travel for conventions, but usually in-state only. FanFest is the only one I travel out of state for.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Preferably in the spring time, or at the very least *not* the Nov/Dev timeframe. This year was especially bad as far as timing, I think, due to many college students having to deal with finals, it being around the holidays so money is tight, and for those who work retail, getting time off is like pulling teeth from Fafnir -- it just doesn't happen. lol

As far as how many days, I think 2-3 days, to make the trip worth it. I know I was a little dissapointed this year on how short it was.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Yup! It was a blast seeing people from my server again -- something I only get to do usually once a year at fan fest. The new information that was released was great, but I didn't appreciate the re-hash of the info from VanaFest. I think that, as far as organization I think they did great this year. The registration lines were handled very well, in comparison to some conventions that I go to, and putting the schedule and a map on the back of the badge was a stroke of genius.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Video contests to go with the art contests again. As someone who dabbles in making FFXI videos, I was kinda dissapointed that there was no contest this year. Also, more in-game events to play on-site! The Atomos challenge last year was really fun. The Taru Cure Marathon is always fun to watch, even if I don't get to play. Heroes/Heroine's combat, the Serpent General Combat -- stuff like that.

(I prefer being notified by E-Mail)

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing FFXI for 4 years as of today(the 19th). I have monk and warrior at 75, and pup soon to follow.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Bloomington IL, and I'd rather not go more than a state away to attend a live event, meaning I'd rather not go beyond Chicago, Indianapolis or St. Louis.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Summer would be wonderful, as for days, atleast 2, if not 3.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No, it was way to far for me to travel.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

new BCNM style battles, maybe with more job options to use, and possibly utilizing the areas that often lay vacant, save for thru traffic, like fort ghelsba. Or maybe a group NM fight, where an alliance of people can fight a special NM for special drops.

Did not attend, though I think they are a great idea and opportunity for developers to get face time with players. Just wish it was closer to home.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

A live fight vs Absolute Virtue or some other formidable enemy. I would like to see what the developers had in mind as strategies to defeat some of their creations.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I have been playing Final Fantasy XI for about 5 1/2 years. I have Dragoon, Samurai, and Dancer at level 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in the Chicago area, I have and will continue to travel out of state for events.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
I would prefer them to be away from major holidays or around the general time of school finals. I would also prefer the events to be at least two days if not more.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Yes. I found the information released at the event was a repeat of the info given out at VanaFest. I was disappointed that SE didn't have any bigger announcements for the NA FanFest

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I would like the dev panels to be all new information. To those that do follow what happens overseas simply repeating information is a disappointment. More content to try out before it's implemented into the game would also be fun.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing FFXI for roughly 4 years now. My highest jobs are PLD/BRD/WAR/SAM/BLM/MNK, all at level 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in Southern California. If given time, I would be willing to travel out of state.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I would like to see more Summer events where School doesn't get in the way of planning these events. 3 days (Fri-Sun) would be just fine I'd say.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I attended Fan Fest 2008 and I really enjoyed it. Some things I enjoyed were... well, the open bar was excellent! I had fun with the Swarm and the MMM sections and the developer panels and ceremonies were great. However, having one full day kinda sucks. Mainly because I would only have one day and a half to really interact with my friends before they go back home. Another thing is that many events from previous fan fests, such as the live quest, weren't here this year.

Oh and I love that there was free water being served, I was getting pretty thirsty being busy. ^^

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I would like to see the Star Onions actually be here this time lol. Another thing is I would like to see more contests and challenges given to the attendees for prizes. Something that isn't just random luck like a raffle. I also would like to see more merchandise being sold that isn't so expensive, such as T-Shirts or Moogle Hats, I saw a lot of those hats and I really wanted one!

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing for 3 years so far, and I have Black Mage at 75 and Red Mage at 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Louisiana, I wouldn't mind traveling out of state but it would have to be closer than say far east or far west coast considering I don't have enough money to buy tickets/drive that far, as well as book a hotel room.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I'd greatly prefer summer because I hate the cold. 2 days would be the best I would think.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

No I didn't, from what I hear though it was fun to the people who went.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

It'd be cool to have little game type events to be played with maybe a swag give away for completing it like at one of the fanfests. Something like a scavenger hunt and stuff.

My email would be best to be notified at.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I have been playing since the NA release of CoP, so I think it's been about 5 years. My highest level job is RDM73 ^^

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Saint Louis, MO; I wouldn't mind the travel if it weren't always across the country. Maybe in Chicago...you know, that's a popular area, too!

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
I think early summer would be good; since alot of the younglings would also be out school and more able to attend (not that I'm looking for younglings! I'm just saying, keep the opportunity open for all players). A three-day convention would be just fine.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I did not attend, although from all the posts I read about it, I wish I had the chance to go.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I would like to participate in a job-specific Ballista-type thing. An All RDM free-for-all...against the developers! There's always been speculation as to whether the developers actually play; it'd be nice to see what kinda tricks THEY can pull of with our mighty class

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since US PS2 release, around April/May of 2004. I have 2 level 75 jobs; white mage and red mage.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in a city in Los Angeles county. Since all the previous fan festivals and events were held in the LA area, I really didn't have any issues trying to get to the event locations.

If there was to be a fan festival outside of California, it would depend on when, where, and how much. Ideally I wouldn't mind going somewhere there there are things to do outside of the FFXI event. Where I could spend a few days exploring the city and feel as though I'm getting my money's worth. I definitely do not want to go to the middle of nowhere USA.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Any time of the year where I'm not working my *** off would be nice! LOL. The previous fan fests dates were good with me. I think I would prefer the events to be near the end of the year (Nov/Dec) instead of in the middle.

One day is fine for an event as long as there is more doing than waiting. Since there weren't as many people, I was able to get my fill of FFXI geekery to a more than satisfactory level.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I loved it. The open bar on registration day was a great ice breaker. Nothing like free alcohol to get people to socialize. :)

Even though it was just one day, it was just enough time to spend hanging out with my friends. It was because of the small number of people attending the event. The short lines to get into the Moblin Maze Mongers and the Swarm made everything worthwhile. Nothing makes me feel like I'm wasting my time like long lines. Many of the past problems were remedied with this year's event.

One thing I really disliked about the previous fan festivals was having to find a group of people to make a party of 6. It sucked walking up to complete stranger to ask if their party is full, only to be rejected over and over again. And to add insult to injury, the only way to get the additional in-game items was to finish whatever quest that was handed out to attendees. At the first fan festival, I didn't even get to do many things because of this. I didn't know anyone on my server that went, and the person I did go with didn't even play FFXI. Not having that special requirement at this year's event was a huge relief.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Honestly, I like how it is now. I really can't think of anything else. Surprise me! :)

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I have been playing since Christmas 2003 so approximately 5 years. I have paladin, dancer and blue mage all at 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I currently live in Alabama and yes, I am willing to travel outside my state to attend an event. I've learned that many of the best live events occur outside my state.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

It would be easier for many that the festival occur during the summer months since many people will not have as many commitments as they do during the Thanksgiving/Christmas time or in March where many are still in school/college. Two days seems like the ideal amount of time because only one day is not enough to warrant travelling a long distance and also more days means more money spent on a hotel. Not all of us can afford that so it's safer to stay with two days.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Yes, I attended. I have several thoughts:

A. This means the most to me but even if there is not a movie contest, please dedicate part of the time for sight seeing or trying out the new additions to FFXI to showing FFXI videos in the main room until the next major event. While some of us make the movies to win a prize, others just want to show off our talents to a broader audience.

B. The amount of people this year was the optimal amount. Last year, there were too many there and there were a few ... how should i say this nicely... bad apples there that looked like made the dev team a tad uncomfort to be around. This year, everyone appeared well mannered and generally had a good time despite it only being one day.

C. Open bar... I love you SE for that. Nuff said.

D. We know that you have a fan festival type event in Japan, so many of us knew about the updates before this fan festival. Try to keep half of all your annoucements for us and half for the fans in Japan so everyone gets a surprise.

E. Live quests are fun because then we get to know each other more through assistance. The tarou card trades were a very good idea but expand on that. You don't have to give out a reward for it. The experience is enough.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Major announcemnts to jobs.
Sneak previews of new quests and storylines.
Better explanations or hints to certain NMs to be beaten or synthesis items yet to be found.
More content based on fan opinions. While some are farfetched, we do come up with very good ideas that would enhance our enjoyment of FFXI. Listen to us more since we are the customers.

Being contacted either way is fine.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job? I started playing in July of 2004. Since then, I've gotten WHM, BRD, and PLD to level 75, but I will always be a white mage at heart.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Maryland near Washington, D.C. Yes I would be willing to travel out of state. Anywhere on the East coast would be preferable. Cali is a bit far.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be? Spring and Summer are best. Two days is the perfect length.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event. I did not, and it surprised me that it was so short.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
The ability to use your own character in festival events.
