1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
i have been playing FFXI for about...4 years counting this year. Highest level is 75 blm.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in CA, and i have attended all 3 FFXI fan festivals and i would probably attend any events out of state as long as i get some money together ^_^

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summer time would be best probably around june-august. more than 2 days please! 3 would be great if you didn't count "pre reg" as day 1. or if you did make pre-reg earlier in the day and have the rest of the day with mini events, or gatherings and such.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Yes i did. I loved it! I thought the location was a bit odd at first, but the hotel was beautiful and the open bar for Pre-registration was a great idea. I also enjoyed the usual developers pannel and the costume and art constests. However i'm sad that the "mini-games" and the video contest, and the naked taru race did not make the cut this year.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
the mini-games that were at Fan festival 07, video contest, live quest. i would like to see the star onions return for a concert, but i LOVED Kumi Tanioka's concert!!! i would buy her cd if she made one!

you can notify me via email. Thank you!!

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
Since the PS2 NA release, I have BLM, WHM, MNK, RDM to 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in Toronto, Canada, and yes.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summer is always nice, people are normally on vacation and can easily come.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
I couldn't, it was too late when I found out about it and couldn't afford to travel at the time.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Cosplay is always great. Meet and greet players in real life, and punting tarus sounds fun.

Please notify me by email

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
About 2 1/2 years over a 5 year span. 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Southern California. I would be willing, depending on how far.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Late December/early January or during the summer. 2-3 days sounds fine.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Nope but I was interested. From an outsider's perspective, it sounded like plenty of fun but lacked new information, which is what 95% of those who missed it are probably most interested in.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
The current lineup of events sounds great but I'd also toss in a dance party or something.

Email please.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
Since around the summer of 06, after ToAU was released, so over 2 years now. COR75 & THF75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Viera, FL.. I probably would, I'd have gone to this years in CA if I had the money :(

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Anything but winter, </3 the cold.. And as most have said the late Fri-Sun long weekend seems good.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
It seemed fun and unique, something you don't get to experiance often, which is why I wanted to go.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
More questions and better questions would be great.. The presentation stuff seems interesting - it must be neat to be there in person seeing new things that will be happening in FFXI. There didn't seem to be any big announcements during this years' though, like I remember WoG being first shown at one and people freaking out. So whatever FFXI's biggest news is, probably best to break it at a XI Fan Fest.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing four about 4 years, and my highest jobs are Monk, Corsair, and Dancer at 75, though Monk is the only fully merited one I have at the moment.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in Georgia, and I am willing to travel out of state for live events, but issues of travel funds and time off from work severely limit my ability to do so.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

The time of year is fine, over the course of a weekend, perhaps Friday through Monday. It would be nice to have another event closer though.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I was unable to attend, but from what I've read about it, I missed out on a lot of good stuff.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

It would be very nice to see the players play with the development team in some events or vs some HNMs. The development team could see first-hand how the community tackles their challenges, and perhaps the players could at least see how the game is played from the developer's perspective.

Please let us know whether you wish to be notified via Allakhazam.com PM or email.

I'd like an email notification please.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I have been playing since NA computer release. Had to take small breaks when my computer was broken. Highest level jobs 68 pup and 60 sch.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live on the south side of Chicago land area. I would be willing to travel to a nearby state in order to attend a live event.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

I would prefer it to be held sometime in the summer, maybe June or July. Fanfest this year coincided with my finals... and I would rather not fail out of college in order to go to an event.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I wish I could have gone, but it is expensive and the distance is way to great. I read every minute of the live blog as it happened, and I really think it would have been amazing to go. MMM and scholar/dancer merit II was interesting and exciting. However, I liked the details (Job adjustments, new jobs, new expansion packs) from years past better.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

FFXI fanfest like activities near my area would be great. I would also love to see a SE orchestra / black mages concert like that have been put on in oter countries.

PM please

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
4 years, multiple jobs at 75

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
El Paso, Texas. I would be willing to travel, assuming i can afford it.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
No Preference. 1-2 days

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
Did not attend. Looked fun, but most of what was presented was duplicate of the recent JP fanfest

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I would like more straightforward Q&A with the developers. I realize there are some things they cannot tell us, but a lot of questions simply seem to be dismissed or skirted around and not actually answered.

Please notify me by email.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
3 years and 2 months, 75 WHM and 75 BLM

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Long Island, NY. Yes... as long as its not too far.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
No real preference on the time of year, but I guess spring or fall would be good. 2-3 days seems optimal to me.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
No, I didn't. Seemed like it would've been a fun time. I would've tried to go had it been closer to NY.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Considering I've never been to an event like this, I really would have no clue what to expect in the first place. I'd really need some basis of comparison in order to give a "better" answer.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
Since US PS2 beta, and I'm 75 RDM and DRG.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

CA. Depends on how far out of state(can't really afford to go cross country and back) and how long the event is.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
Summer or early Fall, lots of free time and free cash around those times for me.
Three to four days sounds about right.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Unfortunately I did not attend, the tickets sold out the day before I got my paycheck.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Music, lame party games, in-game events, stuff like that.

Please let us know whether you wish to be notified via Allakhazam.com PM or email.

4 Years, 75 BLM/DRK/RDM/WHM/PLD/SMN

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
Los Angeles, LA. And yes, I'll travel out of state for event if it fits my family schedule.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
End of summer, just before the kids starts school. 1 Days event is enough, but make sure the contents can keep the players busy all day, and have enough tickets...

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
No, cuz' by the time I was trying to order it the first day night, the tickets are all sold out. :( I think there should be more tickets...

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
Actually secrets tips of various things in game, like how to actually beat some HNM without zerging it. Something that's useful that the players can actually use after going home from the event and not just preview of the next coming update. Cuz' everyone will get to play it when the update comes, just the matter of time.

Please let us know whether you wish to be notified via Allakhazam.com PM or email.

Since about a month after NA release. 75 Cor Blu Sam Drg Pld

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

Austin, Texas. Only if i can convince my wife to spend the money to do so. I personally am more than willing.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Doesn't matter when really. 1-3 days is good.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Nope ; ; From posts it seemed like people had fun, although many did complain from lack of actual content during the event.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Live internet feeds from SE so everyone that can't physically attend can still enjoy it.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I've been playing since about 2003/2004 (I keep on forgetting when I started). My highest level job(s) are Blm, Whm and Rdm.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in Queens, New York. I can travel out of state, should the need arise.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Spring/Summer seems to be best, since a lot of people have free time and its generally bearable to be outside in most of the US. Time wise, 2-3 days would be perfect. Short enough to not run up too many con related bills and long enough to cram in events, special guests and lots of other goodies.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Due to this being my last College semester, no I did not. From what I heard, the last Fan Fest was short and sweet and a lot of people liked that. There were plenty of events (the Swarm and MMM got a lot of attention) and I particularly liked the information to come out of the Dev Panel.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

New one time only events are always welcome, possible replaying of previous Fan Fest exclusives (like the BC fight vs Shantotto,Prishe and other heroines of FFXI) would be fantastic. Personally, I'd love to be able to see a concert by Nobuo Uematsu (sp?) and the Black Mages, since I've never been able to get tickets.

Preferably, I'd like to be notified by both email and PM (just in case). If not, then a PM is fine.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

NA PC Release. Late 2003 was it? I remember standing in line at CompUSA waiting to get it.

Highest level job is 75 Paladin.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in San Bernardino, California. Most S-E events are held here in CA, but I wouldn't mind travelling out of state.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

In the summer! One day events are great. =]

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I did not. I'm planning to attend with Sorasha for Fan Festival 2009. I thought the event was lacking the "big" announcement that past Fan Festivals have had and that left me a bit disappointed.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

The kind of content?

In terms of events - More convenient to find others in the event of the same server. I heard that 2008 was hard to find people of the same server.

In terms of FFXI - I think the way they've handled previews of future updates hae been fine from what I'm hearing. =)

I did not attend due to work but I thought that either the content was light or the coverage wasn't as thourough as it could have been

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I would like to see multiple multi-hour "town hall" style Q&A sessions with the devs. They could rotate out. I realize that is a long time for them to answer questions but as fans/customers a once a year opportunity like that seems warranted.

***edit*** PM please, I am horrible about checking my email but I visit this site daily.

live near Montreal, Quebec Canada
and yeah i would travel a bit, depending where it was, east coast would be easy.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

live events are better done in the summer, when it's easier to take time off to actually participate in them.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?

I have been playing since February, 2003. I have a 75 Thief, a 75 Red Mage, and a 73 Corsair.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I would probably travel as far as three states away to attend a convention.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Summer is the best time of year because most people are out of classes. I would like live events to last around 2 days.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I did not attend. I thought that the Swarm sounded really interesting, and I really would have liked my own set of Tarut cards! I also thing that the limited edition items players could receive for attending FanFest were great, and it would be nice if even those of us not fortunate enough to attend could get a chance to own some of those items.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Longer Q&A sessions! It seems like individual players get to ask the development team a maximum of around seven questions. A lot of people still have important questions that go unanswered!

1. I've been playing since NA PC release (October 2003) though I've taken several breaks that probably total up to a year and a half or so between then and now. My highest job is 75 DRG.

2. I live in Vancouver, BC and might travel out of province to attend events--it all depends on where, and what the event is.

3. Spring/summer is usually the best, better weather, easier to get time off work. 3-5 days seems like a good length.

4. I did not attend Fan Festival 2008. It seemed like a lot of fun, and if I lived closer I likely would have attended.

5. The content provided so far seems to be great, though I haven't attended any events so it's tough to rate the quality of the goings-on.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job? I have been playing FFXI sense it was released in NA for the computer. My highest job is MNK75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events? I live in Michigan and I would be willing to travel out of state as long as it is in driving distance. (Like, under a 7 Hour Drive)

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be? I would prefer live events to be held any time but winter. I would like them to be either 3 days or under. Too many days makes hotel stays and things of this nature (food) hard.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event. No I was unable to attened. I have always wanted to attened a Fan Festival, I think it is a cool way to get to interact with other people from FFXI besides the computer.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?I really thought the idea of how you could come back from the live event and have your Linkshell (or friends) take part in the BCNM thing they did this year. I would like to be notified via Email.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job? Almost forgot to add: I started out as a Dark Knight leveling that to 75 and eventually did WHM, BST, BLM, WAR and MNK over the time.

Since I believe November of 2003 I think. It wasn't very long after the PC launch, so give or take a month.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?

I live in the San Francisco Bay area, so driving down to Hollywood certianly felt like out of state sometimes. ;) But if it was in a near by state I would consider it if I could get the time off work.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Early December is fine in California. Not too hot or too cold to explore Holywood this year and Disney last year. The one day thing worked but it felt kind of cramped. Unfortunately a fellow linkshell friend wasn't able to get tickets since he was at work during the day. I had an extra shield code from my wife's gobbie bag. Since she barely plays I gave it to him but it still sucks he couldn't get into the event. One day with the same amount of space as Anaheim would be pretty nice.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

Yes I attended with my wife. We had a good time at the events. The tarut cards are pretty nice and the buffet was much better than the lunchbox thing the previous year.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

A couple more panels spread out over time would have been nice. Maybe taking more questions from the audience. Maybe add a few of the 3rd party sites to get their own panel and answer questions.

1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job? I've been playing FFXI sense 2004, I think, its been so long. My heighest job is a three-way tie between 73 SMN, RDM, BLM

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events? I live in Ocala, Florida, and am more than willing to travel to out of state events, providing that plain tickets/gas prices/lodging is all reasonably priced.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be? I personally prefer for events to be held in the spring/summer time, that way people from the events can get together before/afterwards and enjoy the day with out freezing or hiding in a warm room.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event. No I did not. I loved the pictures from the event, it looked like a lot of fun. I wish there was a event held somewhere on the east coast. I also think the event should have lasted more than one day. (Up to three days.)

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events? I would like to see more of the Ballista Royal, cosplay, at upcomming events. I would really like there to be a area for FFXI fans to actually sell their own artwork, and more interaction with the developers and playerbase. I liked the fact that there was a lunchon offered this year, but with such a small ammount of tickets being sold to the event, it really cut out alot of people. Most of all I would like to see bigger events hosted, and larger ammounts of tickets sales available to the events.

- Since March, 2004. I have RDM, WAR, and THF to 75.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
- BC, Canada. Kind of hard to travel so far, especially for just a couple days.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
- Time of year doesn't matter so much, as long as it's indoors. Number of days per event being around 7+ would be nice.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
- No, I did not. I like how there are events each year, to promote the game and new features.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
- I can't think of anything that hasn't already been suggested.

I did not attend. I thought the coverage by the premier sites was good, but would like there to be more time spent talking with the player base as to how to improve the game. One hour dev panel isn't enough IMO. Also would like more people to have the option to attend.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

More dev panel, LOVED the fact that players got to try the new content and give us feedback on it, now if only next time I can attend!

I've been playing since about early April 2004. My highest job is Dragoon at 75, which is much higher than my 75 whm which I despise...

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This makes it a big deal to have to travel to go to a live event. I would truly consider traveling to one of the larger, more interior Cities in Canada such as Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto or Ottawa and perhaps to some of the closer states, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Minnesota. Further would require a lot of consideration, and unfortunately, none of these places seem like bankable event locations.

Simply because of my line of work, I would find spring or autumn a better time because they're generally a less busy time for my line of work. As for how long they would be, I think somewhere around one to three days would be best for both booking time off, and actually being able to fill the event with content. Too short and you accomplish nothing, but too long and it would just drag on.

I didn't attend Fan Fest 08 although I have a few friends from my server who did go. (Davricle and Mamimikun of Valefor.) From what I heard this fan fest especially seemed like a lot of fun. The special events like the mythic weapon demos and that swarm BCNM seemed really cool, but I think what I was most impressed with was the Tarot cards. Those looked amazing and I would have loved to get a set of those. (Seeing Mamimikun turn into a Tarutaru after the event was also priceless.)

Although I've never actually been to a live event, things that would interest me would be sneak peeks of upcoming updates, cool grab bag items like the tarot cards and Moogle shields, and maybe a public Q&A with the dev team. A contest to win a relic or mythic weapon of your choice would also entice me... A lot.... O_O..../dream
