1. How long have you been playing FINAL FANTASY XI and what is your highest level job?
I've been playing FFXI since the NA PC release, well, a few days after it (November 2nd, I believe), so 5 days after the release. Which is over 5 years now. My highest level jobs are Summoner and Dancer, both of which are 75. I only bring jobs past 50 that I enjoy playing, and so far, only those 2 and Puppetmaster have reached that. Blue Mage and White Mage are past 50, but they lost their fun.

2. Where do you live and are you willing to travel out of state to attend live events?
I live in northern California, and unfortunately, I cannot travel too far to attend live events, which is why I haven't been to the fan festivals that have been held down south. Having no car and money really puts a damper on it :(

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?
In the future, In my honest opinion, I'd think Late June/July would be the best days for the live events to be held. Why? Because a large portion of the FFXI playerbase are in high school or college, and Late June/July is there only time off of school.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.
No I didn't, however, I did keep up with everything going on during it. In my HONEST opinion, I didn't really feel like enough information was given out. All the stuff from interviews was just the same old stuff we learned in past interviews, except some minor details like wanting to move WHM to the front line.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?
I'd love to see new jobs showcased. One of my favorite memories of the first fan festival was when they revealed Puppetmaster. With that galka coming up on the screen everyone was crowded around trying to see what it was, with what seemed to be a Taru running behind him (And someone even shouted that), then all of the sudden, it gets closer, and you can see it's a puppet. Then PUPPETMASTER flashed across the screen and the crowd erupted. Personally, I still try to find that video today :P The DANCER part of the first WotG preview reminded me of that. Also, New Pets in general are something I'd like to see at live events. Pet jobs have a lot of potential, but summoners have had the same pets for a while, PUP have had mainly the same parts from the start, DRGs have had the same wyverns. BST at least gets new pets all the time.

Close to 3 years now. RNG RDM PLD and BLM are 75.

South Carolina. I think I would be to travel in the southeast US but not much further. The farthest I've gone for a live event was Otakon in Maryland.

3. What time of the year would you prefer live events to be held? How many days would you like them to be?

Somewhere around vacations. Labor day weekend, etc. I think 2 days is good for an event. 3 days even better.

4. Did you attend Fan Festival 2008? If so, what did you think? If not, please let us know what you thought of the event.

I would love to go to events like these but being on the other side of the country I don't see it as something I'd be able to do unless I was in california for some reason. As far as what I thought of the event I think it's a great idea and the only thing I'd have to say that was "bad" about it was that it was only one day this year.


5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

Costume contests are always awesome to watch. Dev interviews are great. Fanvideos are some of my favorite things. If I was there I'd like something fun to do that could earn me in game rewards, like a special event BCNM that you could do with people you met at the festival and if you win you get the special item sent to your real character. Hand outs are great and all but one of my favorite things about this game is a sense of accomplishment from winning something through teamwork. Wouldn't even need to be a "bad-***" item, just like a trophy in the mog house or the like would be neat.

I played at first US release up until about COP, then came back again with a new character about two years ago. I recently hit 75 on WHM. (I know, 2+ years, I'm a slacker)

I live in southern Maine. I'd travel, Boston would be nice, but NYC or Philly is something I'd consider depending on the event.

No. To be honest, I didn't even follow it, so I can't offer an opinion.

Depends. If SE had a hand in it, it would be nice to see some of the stuff in person that the Fan Fest people got to see, or possibly other, newer stuff. Attendee only merchandise would be cool (in game items and out). Those in game events at the Fan Fest always sounded interesting.

I live in South Florida. I would be willing to travel out of state to attend events, but probably only in the Southeast due to travel considerations.

I would like them to be held in the summer or fall. It might be nice if it was near a US Federal Holiday, such as Labor Day, so I could get time off work!

I did not attend. The high cost of plane and hotel for such a short event wasn't worth the time and expense.

It did not look like it was as much fun as the previous FanFest. I know many people were unhappy with the amount of information revealed, the length of the event, and with the difficulty in obtaining tickets. However, I think people had fun meeting with other FFXI fans!

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I would like to see a longer event with more information announced. Perhaps they could do a human chessmatch like some conventions do or have games for people to play, like Vana'diel-themed tag or something. MORE UNIQUE MERCHANDISE AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. I would like to see a larger Square-Enix convention with an FFXI fanfest in it, heh.

I played for two and a half years, starting right after it was released for the PS2. My highest character was a level 62 DRK, followed by a 55 WAR.

Probably the best time would be late summer early fall, and they should be no more than 4 days at most.

Atlanta GA. Yes.

Spring and Summer. 2+ Days, traveling 2000 miles for 1 day event is not appealing.

No I did not but personal friend did. I felt the event lacked Substance, News, and Job update information. However the oportunity to spend time with fellow fans and friends makes up for any shortcomings.

Extended Dev panels, broken up into individual QA sessions on different areas of game (jobs/system/crafting etc...).
Longest Skillchain contest.
Play as some of Vanadiels Bosses. Shadowlord etc...
Dev team Ballista.
During the event do a Chocobo Hot and Cold game in FFXI that the attendies watch while there friends back home try and find some really good item.

No, I did not attend. Since I didn't attend, I didn't pay tons of attention to it. Bit of a lack of unexpected revelations, though.

I always love the content that is in the live events, but one that would be interesting is a "Design" your own armor contest. Winner gets a free set in-game.

I currently live in Florida, but am not able to attend out of state live events because I am still a dependent and in college.

I would like live events to be held during vacations, specifically during spring break for the warm weather. I would like them to be held for about 2 days to make the trip worth it.

I was not able to attend Fab Festival 2008. It seemed like all attendees had a lot of fun and SE never fails to entertain the customers. In addition, it was nice that those that did not attend were able to receive active news updates.

5. What kind of content would you like to see in upcoming live events?

I was disappointed that the Tarutaru marathon was not included this year. More games such this one that take place inside the game would be fun to have.

I think over 2 years now. Started when it first came out in the US, quit for over a year, came back and stuck it out. Dragoon75 is my highest.

Nope, tickets sold out before I was off work. From the looks of it there was a lot of fun things going on but the negative reviews from different site posters sorta sours it from the sidelines view.

A. Yes, it was a fantastic weekend that I will never forget. I enjoyed every aspect of it. Next fanfest I would like to see more merchandise (plushies). 2 days would have been ideal.
