You can't please all the people all the time...devs in any mmo have to consider at least these usual groups of diverse interests:
- <Long time><veterans> = wants new content and new stuff to do.
- Your hardcore endgamers = want more challenge and more loots.
- Your casual players = want a fast track to catch up with the veterans or keep up with with the hardcore players.
- Your new players = need tutorials and a reasonable learning curve.
- Your WoW converts = need a lot
And so many more individual interests from game to game you can't even imagine...
And there's no answer, or solution, or end, it's a constant struggle for balance, and devs trying to please as many people as they can most of the time.
---> No matter how easy you make it, there's someone that will say it's too hard.
---> No matter how hard you make something, there are some losers out there that have no lives and will fight that boss for 18 hours straight only to fail
---> Every single change, no matter how minute and seemingly insignificant, sends ripples throughout your game. It's like the butterfly wing flap that causes a tidal wave on the other side of the world.
