umm someoen wanna explain to me how thats any different than a monthly fee? arent (most) months otal 30 days, thus bein charged every 30 days still = monthly fee?
Currently you would pay twice if you happen to sign up towards the end of the month. If it's every 30 days that won't happen.
This could mean a usage model where you pay for 30 days of actual usage - your account is charged 1 day each day that you are logged in. If you play only 2 days in any particular week, you are only charged for 2 days. If you are gone for 2 weeks, you don't pay for those 2 weeks.
Edit:
What it probably means though is a model similar to what WoW uses (I think .. don't play WoW myself) where you can prepay for 30 day increments. When that expires, just click to pay for more. Your account never goes dormant. You can walk away for a year, log in (update), click for 30 days and start playing again.
This is good for users. It's also great for SE operations in that it spreads out admin support through the month and dramatically reduces operations overhead by eliminating the cumbersome methods they currently need for turning someone's account back on.
