It really is a tough crowd here. Come on, how many actual laughs do you get out of syndicated comic strips in the newspapers?

I like Dilbert.

Dont care about the art. The joke wasnt funny.

Would of been funnier had there been a lancer from 14 in it making a comment about how dumb dragon armor looks or the fact that his graphics are from 8 years ago. Almost anything would have been better then what was posted joke wise, art wsnt so bad I thought.

I would only expect more of somebody if I paid them to do it.

My brother-in-law tells plenty of jokes, and he never charges me. I don't expect them to be funny, but it's not because of the price. The man just isn't funny.

I've come to the point of having similar expectations of Happy Friday. Not because the work is done free, but because of its track record.

For those who think they can do better, I think Usagi should throw out the gauntlet to forum members and make some sort of cartoon strip competition. ;)
Actually, the comic is open for anyone to make submissions. I have a hand-full of user submitted ideas that I may get around to doing one day. Fully drawn comics are also welcome.

I kind of like the mix of reactions each comic gets. I'm always surprised when one that I think people won't like gets a lot of praise and vice versa. Just goes to show that people have different tastes in humor.

While I do appreciate the complements, I honestly don't mind the criticism at all. If you're going to be in an internet community, especially to the extent of something like an admin for a website like this one, you've got to have a thick skin.

I'm impressed by your durability. Hell, all the negative comments **** me off, and I have nothing to do with the comic. Smiley: clown

This one made me smile.

I actually considered offering to do the art for Happy Friday, since I wrote a short lived webcomic years ago and I've got a reasonable amount of artistic talent. The problem is, I'm an ink and paper person, and I have no working scanner. We're buying an all-in-one scanner combo when the ink in our current printer runs out (since the cost of replacing the ink is about the same as buying a whole freaking new printer!)

Unfortunately, I'm so busy with my books lately, I don't think I could do it any more. (I wanted to become a writer so I'd have more time dammit. I worked twelve hours today, off and on. Erk!)

No offense to previous Happy Fridays but this is the first one I've actually enjoyed in a long, long time (._.); 9/10 - perfect way to resolve the previous super super jump comic.

And that, my friends, is where printer companies get you. They sell you cheap printers but the ink goes upwards of twice as much as the printer itself. And they design the printer to only accept the ink jets they manufacture.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new printer every time it runs out of ink then?

OK, it sounded like a good idea in my head at the time. Leave me alone. Smiley: mad

I thought the same thing when my programming instructer insisted in her students print out the code and bring it to class to turn in. Why the hell do I want to use my ink to print out hundreds of lines of code? Luckily, the classroom had a printer inside.
