Not a good idea to do this, the extension only applies if you have yet to transfer your account over I think?

Read about quite a few that transfered but didn't sort out a payment option that are getting locked out.

Nothing, really, but they haven't done it yet. They've extended the cut-off until they do. Thus the request to fix the billing first is legitimate.

#6REDACTED, Posted: Sep 01 2011 at 11:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I suppose. You can't expect them to snap there fingers and have it fixed though. The fix is in the works no need to whine about them fixing it is all I was saying.

The graphic isn't entirely that accurate. Not enough squiggly arrows and detours to errors or loops back to the beginning. Maybe someone can modify the graphic to be more accurate.

They've admitted the system is broken and laid out a schedule for fixing it. Kudos for that. Telling people to sign up for the broken system in the meantime is just plain dumb. Alobont eloquently stated that he is going to stick with the old semi-broken system until the new severely broken one is fixed. So am I.

I am happy to say SE is not forcing people to use crysta if they don't want to. They are however forcing us to use a questionable 3rd party credit card processor: Click and Cry, er wait, Click and Buy... One of my accounts was billed properly today, the other there's a billing issue, and yes, I transferred both of my accounts at one time. Thank you SE, I really wanted to deal with having to micromanage my accounts and deal with your customer support because of your severely broken "new" billing system. 50% failure rate for me. Thanks! Why do I still play this game again? That's a good question for another day when I'm not angry.

I'm really confused here. I didn't transfer my account because of this announcement:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/story.html?story=27453

Today, when I go to play, I get a "no content ID" type of message which gives me the impression I'm locked out.

So, I suck it up and start through the transfer process but Click and Buy is giving me fits. Won't take my credit card. Use a checking account. Account blocked. Call Click and Buy's 1-877 number and... number out of service.

Can this be any more convoluted? Everyone else online can takes payments with ease, but SE has turned this into a cluster f.

Any advice? Was the extension story above wrong? Can someone tell me where I went wrong?

The only possible thing I can think of (not in regards to the Click and Buy aspect of it, but just the no content ID message) is that maybe the card you were using didn't have sufficient funds, though given how things have been I wouldn't be surprised if it happened despite everything on your end being good. As for Click and Buy, even back when it was announced that it was being used for XIV, I never put any faith in their services, and all the horror stories I've heard in regards to them for these recent XI transfers have only furthered my conviction that I'll never use their services for anything.

While some people have been managing to sign up and use them without any hassle, the number of accounts being blocked, the number of accounts where they've been insisting on people sending very sensitive information, and even the cases of people having their XI specific card info being stolen and being used at UK locations leaves me perplexed as to why SE would ever consider working with them.
