Aren't some of the added mobs in the old areas 100+ as well? The Boyhada Tree where Ancient Gobbue used to spawn, or the very bottom of Bost. Obulette? Even at 99, there are mobs that will still check T+ which would lead me to believe they are that higher level.
Correct, those are also over 100. And appropriately enough, sacred crests can drop from these too. These would be a better choice than Abyssea as well, since the entire mob level range is within the 100+ area.

Bear in mind that with regard to check messages, if you're wielding an ilvl weapon, check messages will be adjusted to reflect that ilvl rather than using your own character level. For instance, a level 115 mob would presumably check "even match" to you if wielding an ilvl 115 weapon, instead of the "incredibly tough" it would have been before Adoulin.
