Meh. That kinda ruins it for me. I was hoping we'd be able to make it a little more permanent. Will still be nice for some content, but I think less so for actually trying to avoid some of the uglier gear.

Everone did those battles till they nerfed it. :(

Yeah all they had to do was implement a penalty for jobs under a certain level and that would have curbed that behavior -_-

Hmm maybe? It was a different time and exp was in some cases hard to come by for lower levels so it was a viable method of obtaining a small amount of exp (at least by todays standards) to level up a bit.
It also helped nations recapture lost forts and go some way to opening fiat lux with lowbie involvement too.
Those that complained about lowbie levelling in campaign didn't think that part of the expansion would be killed when they nerfed it and has been broken since.

There was a penalty, actually. Everything under level 60 would start seeing EXP cuts at fixed % intervals. However, if your medal was high enough, 15 minutes of whacking could still give 1/5 of a level or more at 30 or so. Personally, I'd argue the buff nerf was more harmful to Campaign as fort whacking was really only a thing in Eldieme. Unfortunately, some took it upon themselves to go vigilante against people buffing by NPCs, thus prompting SE to react to a mix of MPK and botting concerns.

Still, there's a lot more they could do to toss Campaign a bone, but... skeleton crew. :/

I'm still not going to believe Cait Sith summon until I'm actually performing it ingame.

Even then I still might not believe it.

Um, no? It had nothing to do with people "complaining". (as if SE would have listened) SE nerfed it because people were using it to get easy afk XP in Eldieme. I used it to get my first job (WHM) from 70 to 75.

Pretty sure they nerfed it long before opening up northlands.

I just really hope it ends up being useful. Given how long the delay was on them first announcing it and finally releasing it, there's going to be quite a bit of anger from Summoners if Cait Sith ends up being worthless. I wouldn't mind Cait being perhaps a strong auto-attack pet, rather than the weak auto-attack/strong BP pets we have now, letting it do a decent amount of damage regularly rather than once every half a minute or so. It'd be a nice alternative to the rest of the avatars we have and would make for a worthwhile addition to our repertoire I feel.

Actually there was a lot of complaining on message boards like these about it.
Though I doubt they used these same forums as a cause for the change, they noticed a trend and did something about it.
There will always be a group of people who hate others for getting rewards for something they did not "work" for.
I won't argue the issue of if the nerf happened before or after northlands because I am not quite sure without trauling through past updates.
My gut tells me after because this type of thing was going on for a while but then again I could be wrong.

They better let us complete those tutorial missions by just talking to the NPC's that complete the quest. I don't want to have a list forever taunting me with objectives that I can never complete. I'm a guy who still has a job at level 1 so I can do the gustaberg tour quest some-day (a party of people level 5 or under to finish).

There's a Records of Eminence storyline? I thought the Adventurers Mutual Assistance Network is giving is free stuff, and we shouldn't ask about where they get it. End of story!

The RoE "storyline" refers to the quests you get at 50, 100 unique completions from the Taru in Jeuno, I'd assume. Not a whole lot of depth there, though.

Agreed here. Even if we have to redo the quests, it's not like it would be hard to turn in greens, skulls, aprons, and worms, etc. Just don't leave us completionists without a way to clear them off.

We will find out. And sadly my gut was right.

The mission "A Token of Troth" is basically beating Wings of The Goddess. Well, one CS from it; you have to go somewhere else to get the earring.

If you're on quetz and need help with it, just holler. I wouldn't mind revisiting the fights! (I've already beaten all 3 nations and have my earring, so I should have np getting cait when we get the quest, but I assume others might not of.)

Yeah, course they require WoTG completion, gotta force people to do something they didn't want to do for the most part lol. Specially these days when it's near impossible to get people to do older missions that MAY require people, not like CoP which can be blown through basically solo at 99 cap, WoTG was designed at a much higher level, even more so the final missions.

I had done a good bit of the mission line with friends, but was overseas when the last few missions came out, and missed doing them. I can tell you that the last few BCs at least are totally soloable--I did most as blu and had little difficulty winning each on the first attempt.

So SMNs learn Raise II/Reraise II before WHMs by a long shot. A few years earlier and there would be a huge rage about that.

I basically oneshotted the last boss on WotG on SMN.. it was so anti-climatic lol
Some of them are just extremely long walks, the BCs are easy for anyone with iLv gear (bar things like WHM I suppose).

Anyway, hopefully they'll finish up Cait soon enough. She's clearly missing BPs above lv75. I guess getting the complete package was too much to expect :\
#48 Mar 04 2014 at 6:59 PM Rating: Excellent
I am curious too as to why they don't have any bloodpacts above lv. 75. I hope that it's not something like they felt they needed to balance Cait Sith having Raise/Reraise/Arise-ga abilities by only giving it a limited number of bloodpacts.

I'm actually really looking forward to the Delve version of the Great Sword that Hurkan drops, because that's my favorite design for Great Swords now and I'm hoping that the Delve version ends up being sufficiently awesome.
