Imagine the number of people that probably would have stuck around if SE didn't give us the years of PS2 limitations crap and just updated their game. Pretty sad that they clung to that excuse for so long and drove so many players away from the game due to lack of content and quality of life adjustments.

Didn't they change who was in charge or something, and that's why we're getting all of these adjustments to make life easier?

That, or they figure "Hell, the game is this old, why not let players actually get stuff done?" or something like that lol. But I have my serious doubts that the same team that just gave us Trusts and Home Point Teleports, is the same team who thought having to WALK to Selbina at Lv12 was a good idea.

Holy crap, this means I'll finally be able to get that map. (Nobody does Ballista = no ballista points = no way to buy that map.)

My Guess is that this will act somewhat like the cartridge swap feature on the Atari 2600.

For those of you who don't know, the old Atari 2600 had a limit on how much ROM you could actually store on a cartridge. Near the end of the Atari 2600 days, game developers were wanting to make bigger, more complex games. Someone came up with an awesome "kludge" that worked and worked damn well:

The put two cartridges in one! They programmed the cartridge so that only 1 of the cartridges was active at any given time, and when the game needed to access data on cartridge #2, the chip responsible for the switching swapped the two cartridges' data seamlessly while the Atari 2600 doing its thing, unaware of what was actually going on. As long as the data continued to flow, the game functioned perfectly, even though it had twice as much ROM data in the physical game cartridge.

Errr... I know the 2600 inside and out and I have no idea what you're talking about. Sounds like some confused mix-up between bank switching and a mutli-cart. Or maybe you saw one of those Xonox double-enders, which have two completely separate cartridge boards, one on each end.

I was talking about bank switching, in layman's terms. Most of my friends know almost nothing about computers, so I'm just used to explaining things in "terms they would understand".

Obviously. Not sure what your point with that is, I was merely explaining the concept using an example, even if said example was of something obsolete, it still has a similar concept behind it.

Nobody will call them Ergon weapons. They'll be called mythics, but I can see Ergon being used in spite, or to belittle them in the midst of actual mythics.

Odd they didn't just tack them on Balrahn's weapons, not like it would have broken lore given Balrahn's story behind the weapons. I'll be glad to not have to farm Alexandrite for them. I guess they are sticking with the Adoulin only theme for GEO and RUN.

Curious what the full requirements will be, not just the prerequisates. Given how GEO and RUN artifact/relic armor has gone. I wouldn't be surprised if they are more easily obtainable than the normal mythic process. Given they are calling them "ergon weapons", I surmise that part of the quest is unlocking all the ergons.

All I hope is they are truly mythic equivalent compared to other jobs and the WS will be unlockable like the other Mythic WS.

I was sorta thinking the same thing. Would we end up needing to venture out to all the ergon locusts? Given the level increase across Doh gates and the party need for it and Woh reives, it could be a time consuming journey if you're in the wrong time zone. Although it would have been better to just add a second map with a higher teir branch of mobs like in the old Gustav and Kuftal tunnels.

Details on the Upcoming Version Update!

Matsui here.
I'd like to give you all a preview of the content slated for the May version update.

There are some big developments in store with the May version update regarding the "Seekers of Adoulin" missions. Certain mysteries that have previously shrouded Ulbuka and the Sacred City of Adoulin will be lifted, while others will spring up in their place. Stay tuned, as there is a considerable amount of material to savor, including the fleshing out of some more marginalized characters, and the introduction of new mission-related areas.

Also, in response to feedback from everyone on the job point system introduced in March, we've tinkered with what made obtaining capacity points too difficult. It will also be easier than before to earn capacity points by participating in skirmishes and Delve, so we sincerely hope you will enjoy them as non item-level growth elements.

In order to further support solo players, we will be raising the Fellow level cap to 99 and having their levels increase depending on item levels. We also plan to expand the Adoulin areas in which you can call forth your Fellow, so please look forward to that as well.

There's much more on the docket, such as the introduction of the Mog Wardrobe, the much-awaited addition of meals that increase pet accuracy by around 110 points, and the inclusion of mythic-equivalent weapons for geomancers and rune fencers.

The version update is scheduled to be implemented on Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Among the items scheduled for implementation with this version update, there are still some that are currently in testing.
