A quick rundown of notable items:

100: sky pops
300: repeats of costume items, skirmish entry items
500: NQ HNM pops, new costume item, new and returning trust, skirmish related items, WoE dice
1000: various upgrade items, 109 Rem Tales, WoE residue
2000: 119 Rem Tales
3000: HQ HNM pops, skirmish upgrade items

Overall a bit of a letdown for me. I never really got into skirmish and I think many of the upgrade items are overpriced. I'm glad I bought some of the empy reforge items this time around to avoid certain obnoxious NM.

Basically, other than the trust npcs and clothing/armor/excalipoor, it looks very similar to last month's, which isn't necessarialy bad, as I was able to finally get a d-ring as well as a number of extra +2 stones and make use of the cheaper skirmish pops.

I would recommend for any new or returning players that alluvion skirmish (v2.0, eudaemon, etc....) is really where you would want to focus much of your attention. Many of the armor pieces (Yorcia drops) are best in slot with good augments, and the weapons (Rala and Cirdas) are quite good as well, in come cases challenging R/E/M. The augment system can be hit or miss--sometimes you waste millions, sometimes you get something exceptional on the first try--but even using the lower quality stones can still net good results. In addition, the barrier to entry is pretty low, especially for Yorcia (which may seem odd, as it is theoretically higher level) and most jobs will be able to fit into a pickup group.

I'll have to give it a try if I ever see LS doing it, they're mainly focusing on Vagary wins which isn't a bad thing either. I took a bit of a break from the game a while ago after getting burnt out on Mythic. Been trying to get back into things but feel so far behind and starting to feel I missed my chance to do a lot of it. Unfortunately, Carbuncle is kinda dead during the afternoon.

Guess the recurring 3k points for savory shank is gonna be a thing now.

A shot at a Dring every month, yay. Too bad FFXI IZ DIEING and I won't actually care too much if I even get one D:

I would note that alluvion skirmish (at least from the couple Rala runs of it I remember doing) is... not actually that simple. Unless you've got a bunch of already-geared-up friends to essentially carry you through the event, you are not likely to have a very easy time of it as a "new or returning player"

I haven't ever done Yorcia though so IDK what that's like.

Is there anything beneficial of the excalipoor? As tempting as it is, I would rather spend my points on something else.

As far as I can tell it's just a costume item with a special effect attached to it when you synth two of them together like many of the other login costume items. It could be useful for abyssea procs if you needed a low damage level 1 all jobs sword but you can probably live without it.

Rala is actually the worst of them, both due to the layout of the maps and some (or hell, all) of the NMs. Cirdas has a similar system, same stone drops, but I would say much easier NMs.

Yorcia is very different. You have a base to defend, and an enemy base to attack. The enemy base will spawn monsters, and by killing local mobs (not the enemy base mobs) you get points to spawn your own monsters from your own base, who will fight enemy monsters and attack their base. One person in the party needs to stay near your base to control the monster spawns, and this is a job that anyone can do, with a little experience or reading up on the event. The other mobs consist of elementals (blm, sch, blu, geo fodder) and small and large butterflies (melee fodder). The whole event is almost a tiny real time strategy game, and much easier to enter into and get the hang of. The biggest rule being to never attack the mobs spawned by the enemy base.

May 2015 Login Campaign Extended

Because the login issues of May 13 as well as the congestion that occurred after the May 13 (PDT) version update caused some players to have difficulty logging in, we will be extending the duration of the currently ongoing May 2015 Login Campaign by two days.

Campaign dates have been changed as follows:
- Original dates: From May 10, 2015 8:00 (PDT) to Jun. 2, 2015 7:00 (PDT)
- New dates: From May 10, 2015 8:00 (PDT) to Jun. 4, 2015 7:00 (PDT)

However, please note that the login points exchange period will remain the same as before, lasting from May 10, 2015 8:00 (PDT) to June 9, 2015 7:00 (PDT).
