desynth fail (was forum=24)Follow

#1 Mar 13 2016 at 6:19 PM Rating: Decent
I have read in multiple places that desynth was way less effective than regular synth but I thought that as a level 42 goldsmith desynthing a lv3 copper ring would be an easy feat so I bought myself a couple stacks of lighting crystals and a bunch of rings but for some reason I failed miserably, over 50% of the time!!!!

Does it get better over lv 50? 60? How much over cap of the item do you have to be to be successful at it???
I heard there is some furniture that helps but is it worth the investment if it's only 10/20% increase? Again, I am already 40 lv above cap for that item and over 50% failure...

Success rates on desynths are pretty much guaranteed to suck. And unless they've added something new, all the related furniture really did was reduce the chance of losing items on fails. Overall, if there's something specific you need, might be better off seeing if there's another source of it. Like I think the (Gold)smithing guilds may sell a stack or two daily.

Desynth always has a high fail rate no matter what you do.

(Protip: you can desynth a lot of the crap that you can buy for sparks, and some of the results might be worth 10K+ on AH these days.)

From some desynths I've been doing lately, it seems that your chances of success are better at full moon. Also HQ seems to be more or less equally distributed between NQ/HQ1/HQ2/HQ3.

And you can't skill up on them over the synth level like was recently added for regular synths. I've done easily 200 of them lately and didn't get one skill-up. I'm not sure I got any even when I was below the skill cap for the desynth.

If there's anything worse than the success rate for desynths, it might be the skillup rate for desynths.
