Lion II tripple attacking at level 2 so yeah I like her... her blurry effect is odd though. I had heard that Semih aoes but haven't seen it yet so that is good. I also found that Semih is terrible for EP-DC mass killing because she spends too much time getting into the proper range. For EM-IT she really smashes stuff though.

Having trouble with caster trusts. D. Shantotto seems to want to melee more than cast or she cast once per fight (trying to conserve MP I am assuming) but at this level range I resummon long before she runs out. I like the SCH I have alde..something... anyway its nice to have someone that can heal or DD but she seems to like to stand around way to much. One of the things I am loving about Apururu is the lack of debuffs. The other two seem to want to debuff critters that don't live long enough for me to care about slow/paralyze.

What I have been doing so far is starting camps as Tank, WHM, Semih/Lion, D. Shantotto. Then as stuff gets into lower EM-T range I switch out WHM and Shantotto for melee. Then if groups are tight and GoV targets I switch to all Melee with Uka??? DNC or the BRD and smash stuff. The reason I look for melee with no MP is because Brd man is less likely to use mages ballad if the melee can't cast. It has been working so far.

I started out with Sylvia but she did nothing at all under level 50. Not sure if buggy or just lack of spells at the level range. I started watching logs just to be sure and her name never came up so she is a wasted spot.

....

Still haven't decided which job to take to 99/make my main focus yet. I should really go with Nin or Blu but what is stopping me so far is having to unlock them... especially Blu. I really enjoy SC + MB and jobs with lots of options. One issue I have with Blu is how powerful and popular they are and it would be my luck that SE decides that some of the other jobs need some loving. Just looking at their Merit and JP options I can see on paper that Blu gets way more powerful from all the really cool stuff they get. Bonuses to a class special that kills you and does terrible damage to begin with... WOOHOO!!!

I think Nin being a bit of an underdog now makes it more appealing. When I first started playing it Nin was THE job. Would help if there was as many videos for Nin as their is for Blu after 2014. It seems the ability of Blu to aoe everything to death makes it even more popular... super easy to exp on. That is all I see anyone asking for in chat.

Don't worry about what the flavor of the month is. Play what you enjoy.

Personally. I've been loving me some MNK lately.

Mnk has always been my first job but I never finish leveling it... really should but it seems like it would get boring after a while. A lot of standing around waiting for cooldowns. Maybe if I subbed Dnc or something I would have a bit more fun.

It's not the most active job in the world, but it's just so satisfying to play. The individual melee hits feel meaty and impactful (even for a Taru like me), the weaponskills are cool to look at, the cooldowns have good utility and good synergy with each other.

I've recently been farming Dynamis with it to collect relic armor for my other jobs still being leveled (and to recover from the monetary impact of leveling 18 jobs to 50 over the span of 5 days... do GEO spells REALLY need to cost that much? Sheesh). I sub DNC while I'm doing that both for the free sneak/invis but also because Steps can stagger mobs that stagger to job abilities.. So I'm always pushing buttons in there. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't be doing that, but it's been super active button pushy MNK action for the last couple days for me.

For trust teams I like Tenzen II and Lion II for my physical dps when I'm the BLM..

I'll have to check that out next time I'm doing BLM stuff then. I didn't know she had skillchain-closing logic. Seems like there might be more than I thought though. I know there was one time I had Gessho closing Fragmentation on a regular enough basis that I think it had to be deliberate.

Aldo of course has that as one of his main features. My issue with him though is that Lock and Load seems to miss really often, which screws the whole thing up.

That's just how her AI is set up, I think. She casts at the start of the fight, then she melees. Robel-Akbel is better if you want one who focuses more on casting, but he'll use AoE spells to magic burst, which might be... undesirable. Shantotto II is even better (most times), but who know when she'll be available to you.

She should have something to do well before that, but the way she decides what bubbles to cast pre-99 seems... odd, sometimes. (When I was levelling NIN she didn't start Entrusting Indi-Haste until 95 or so, even though it's available before then.) Once it kinda looked like she wouldn't use them unless she was the first trust called too, though I didn't really test that because it was around then that I needed to switch to Apururu for a hard mission battle.

I'd say Sylvie is worth checking out if you're at 99 and want some extra offensive support (and don't need the healing from Apururu or one of the other WHM main UC trusts), but otherwise she's probably not a great choice. At least switching unities isn't too onerous, but I wish you didn't have to choose between the best healer or the unique support like that.

Thanks... didn't see that I missed Robel-Akbel. Been trying to pick up trusts in a useful order and skipped him somehow.

Only sub50 experience so far but Lion II does seem to be great at closing skill chains. Her WS don't seem to be the greatest but I get a lot more SC with her than most of the other physical DDs.

- Every job gets a special gift at 100, 550, and 1200 job points earned, usually adding to the job's specialty in some way or granting it new magic spells in the case of mages. BLU's 100 and 1200 gifts are extremely potent -- they boost the tier of almost any job traits acquired through set blue magic by one. What this means is that at 1200+ job points, a BLU can set a single spell (Molting Plumage) to gain Dual Wield 1, but will actually be getting Dual Wield 3, for instance. Same with almost any other trait, barring Double/Triple Attack, Treasure Hunter and Auto Refresh. At this point BLU can set up a bunch of traits using minimal spells and actually be getting up to level 3 of all of those traits. With these gifts, BLU is actually capable of reaching Dual Wield 6, which is something not even ninjas get. Not every BLU even needs to set their DW trait that high depending on gear, but the fact remains that they can. As a result of this, they are easily capable of capping their attack speed with zero support, and not even very much in the way of gear.

Kind of skipped over this... Does BLU auto attack faster than NIN now?

Assuming same levels of haste, probably not because NIN has lower delay weapons. But BLU has fewer attack/accuracy problems and a much beefier WS.

Interesting... Choosing what to do first is too hard. I can't handle choices... I am why we can't have nice things.

I would probably be more into BLU if everyone wasn't playing them... /sea all = 1117. /sea all BLU = 173. That is kind of crazy.
