Item Restoration/Server Migration (Compromised accounts)Follow

Alright this might have gone around but here is what converstations that I just had with two SE reps and their supervisor to verify.

For those that have lost multiple items here you go.

They will be restoring items that are thrown out, sold, etc in the game logs they have. So they will be restoring any lost items that were lost and they can track it in the game logs.

I also asked about the 1 item per character policy. He stated this is the exception. If it's in the game logs as lost; it will be restored.

I asked what about if they sold something on the AH on another server/or current server for example "Bone harness+1" was the example I used (don't ask me why hehe). He said no items will be taken back from players that bought said item off AH, BUT a GM will restore said item to the player IF and ONLY if it's in the game logs.

SERVER Restoration.

When a player regains access to his/her account, you can apply for server migration "FREE OF CHARGE" to the orgainal server that it was previously on before the compromised account was taken from orginal owner.

Sorry didn't ask about any gil related restoration but here hope at least.

Sorry for grammer trying to get this out as fast as possible.

That's great news! I am actually impressed with the server restoration idea, sounds like they are really trying to do right by their loyal customers.

If anyone is wondering why we haven't had a major update, I think the reason is they were focusing on trying to help these people. Rate up SE^^

....bah, I'll rate you up too Unc, ya spikey Elvaan :p

Are you sure this is fact? Did you talk to a GM ingame? They have a notorious lack of communication between SE information center & GM support.

Apply for server migration? This is dumb... If they say they will restore items that were sold and such, why not restore us to our original server/character name?

Free? Nothing is free. I payed 30$ to get a Notary/Certified Form shipped to SE. I've been waiting for almost 2 months for my account to be returned. Two Months. You think SE would atleast transfer us back to our original servers.

I'll complain all I want.

Guess I thought free of charge meant "FREE OF CHARGE" but guess it doesn't according to you Jeny.

I guess $30.00 does suck. Been about a month for me, and only paid about $17.00 for express mail.

The point is its costing people to mail things, so technically it isnt 'Free of Charge'. A nice gesture perhaps, but until i see people getting accts/things back i'll be skeptical of GMs, they always have let me down.

I also noticed that their words more specifically, said item restoration would be based on the existing policy. IIRC that means a GM will restore ONE item (per year i think?). I'd be curious to know if anyone has confirmed whether they'll be reverting the inventory to what it was when it was stolen, or make you call a GM and beg them for one item, as is the "current item restoration policy".

Did the reps tell you exactly that they're restoring everything? Or is that part loosely quoting the news item?

Also as a side effect of this change, it's no longer viable to buy accounts since it'll be rediculously easy for the seller to claim theft and swipe it back after getting your cash. Good? Bad? Depends who you are i guess.

The issue is that this would make no sense, because it'd be like dangling meat in front of a starving man. "ok we can restore one item of your choice, choose wisely"

Then again... its SE, these guys do some pretty silly ****.

I guess you don't work in the business world...

SE is a business with an audience. And a multi-national company at that. SE must abide by the laws in the UK because they will lose mega bucks if they don't.

The US is a bit different. We EXPECT companies to abide by a common set of ethics. If they don't we have a choice to FORCE them to comply by taking our business elsewhere or by putting the pressure where needed.

That being said... if SE can restore characters whole when it is required by law, the the same SHOULD apply to other countries where they do business.

No free lunch... pfft... how about a good business model...

Dang - I got notorized for free and spend $3.88 for certified delivery from USPS.

I will check out getting gear back after I get my character back. That's secondary though my character is primary.

I call shenanigans on that. Most states have a maximum amount of $10 fee and most notary don't even bother collecting a fee.

Think I'll just refrain from posting on these forums until I get my account/stuff back. Tired of all the back and forth/battle of "whits". I'll see you all after I get back into the swing of things.

PEACE OUT!!

Do the math.

Well, don't tell anyone this but I talked to my friend's brother's aunt's great grandma's cousin twice removed who once dated someone who knew the guy that used to work for the other guy who knew the assistant that brought the SE CEO coffee every other day during the month of June of 1999, and HE said that 99.9% of the players online AT THIS VERY MOMENT were either bots or RMT. He also said that because of that they were going to be shutting down all servers at exactly 12:01 and 5 seconds PM this Friday.

Don't tell anyone though, it's a secret.

SHHHHH!!!

Yep, there hasn't been a major update to FFXI in 5 years because it's been "dieing".

..Oh wait I recall 4 expansion packs and numerous version updates in the past 5 years.

You must be playing a different FF MMO.

Had you not been stupid and got your account taken off you then you'd not be in a position to have to accept whatever SE will do for you, like it or not.

Your complaining is therefore pointless and achieves nothing.

I truly wish your account remains safe.

If SE had not been stupid and addressed this in an honest and timely manner, these threads would not be needed.
