Rise of unacceptable behaviour in JP server cluster + moreFollow

Sorry if I come across a bit ranty below (as it is indeed a rant, as I do need to let some steam out).

I play on Japanese FF14 cluster - mostly attracted to the higher Asian population as I am an Asian myself and speak fluent Cantonese and broken Japanese (my Japanese reading skill is much better). There has been a recent (say for the last one or two months) rise of unacceptable behaviour - this includes AFKing immediately after entering 4-men dungeon and even Extreme Thordan, DPS "charging" ahead and ignore where others are, deliberate hate stealing with no warning from tank from group B when group B is far from distress.

I don't want to come across as "stereotyping", but it is hard to ignore my FFXI experience and the reading of other posts here that the above are likely to be rather common behaviour in the NA server cluster. However, some of my allegations above are penetrated by players which are clearly Japanese. Some are clearly grieving (AFKing), and some are players clearly lack of patience or "I am taking charge, step aside, it is my way or the highway" arrogant behaviour. Anyway, back in the old days in FFXI, bad blood and behaviour in the Asian community was there, but there were more under the table. However, they were bad enough to drove my dynamis LS leader to quit (I actually met that person in RL before when I visited Japan 6-7 years ago, and we had irregular email exchanges). Recent behaviour brought back some of not-so-fun parts of FFXI.

I don't even know why I even posted this. For me, FFXIV had been less dramatic for me than FFXI, I wish it to stay that way. May be I am trying let some steam out, and getting disappointed. Anyway please pardon me >< (Feeling better now - steam off; if you feel you want to rate me down, please do so)

I've noticed this too - Been actually having a conversation with a few groups. Some are actually NA/AU players trying to cause drama (it's very easy to pose as Japanese with all the playguides out for "SEA players who are stuck on Japanese servers". )

Wow, it's almost like Japanese people might actually be Only Human rather than revered demigods, imagine that!

It is hard for certain to determine if some are "fake-JP", but some violators are clear-cut JP. There are even a couple of guys that stream their grieving to NicoNicoDouga (the Japanese YouTube). In NicoNicoDouga, comments are posted directly posted on videos, and those grievers do get really angry comments and those violator names tend to get circulated in 2ch; unfortunately that is exactly what those grievers wanted - the notoriety. One of those grieving streamers had even been P-banned for grieving in the past. Of course that guy was so keen that he just bought new account codes and even item shop clothes to dress up his character - wasting money to be an Internet troll, to frankly state, is stupid; the same money can be used to donate to charity or buy yourself and your friend drinks and food.

Those clear-cut JPs are only a part of the violators that I see, and it is hard to determine the identities of all violators, so recent increase may really due to influx of fake JP players; however, it is wrong to make a claim for something without clear evidence. The above real JP trolls have always been there, and their notoriety have always been well-known. Anyway, if some are really fake JP grievers and naughty players, you have been noticed. I try to carry on with regular activity in game, and see where things are heading.

And one final old blog post I wish to share:

http://99u.com/articles/25151/dont-feed-the-haters-the-confessions-of-a-former-troll

I am done with my one-off venting. I try not to feed grievers and troll, however I reserve the option to stop paying subscription fees if I find the game unplayable according to my expectations.
