I had Crimson legs on my DRK. I just wanted to get places slightly faster. Transporation in that game was so godawful...

Considering they said you can only use the stuff found inside of it, inside the dungeon, it probably is a glorified glamour piece (and retainer seller since you know, clogged inventories unless it works like Salvage from XI.)

The weapon will be usable outside once upgraded, according to the live letter.

Yeah, more specific information will be at "Part 2" otherwise, anything else up till then is more fluff related until embargo on interviews (if any) is lifted.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the fully "unlocked" weapon were glamor only. Would be cool though if it was something more relevant. Good way to add another progression option for alt jobs.

Could pull the XI relic card where eventually it's usable in Dynamis, but you have to upgrade it past a certain point to be functional outside of it.

Or like Nyzul, where climbing floors made getting the mythic WSs a million times easier. Do X while you're here and keep Y when you leave.
