I don't see how that doesn't become something where you have an AoE weapon and a single-target weapon. Sure, why not carry around 4 different daggers just to be accepted into the PuG?

Yeah, I was mostly just thinking about high end raiding, where an item otherwise perfectly itemized for your class gets ruined by having cleave. :P

But yeah, cleave sounds like a very bad idea to me.

There is a trinket in game that gives you a chance for your abilities to, essentially, cleave just like what is described here.

It is regarded as complete trash.

Trash you say? That's about the best use you'd envision for it. Time for some meter padding? It'll be fun, I mean don't you still have your idol swapping macro? Time to bust it out again.

Or maybe like giving up hit but getting armor penetration back again. Smiley: rolleyes

How is this time travel going to work with the story?
We aren't going back in time, the Dark Portal is turning red, bad guys are coming through. We look at the Orc Clans as they were, but things are happening now. The end of this expansion will launch the next one.

But... Garrosh is going back in time...

And... the timeline is changing...

Cop out BS.

Earlier in the presentation they said this:

Quote:
This isn't a time travel expansion, time travel is just a tool to explain the ongoing story. It isn't being used to massively change the current timeline. The past is fine!

So the dark portal will be like a time portal now as well?

This expansion will start with a jump to the left.

And then a step to the right.

Further clarification confusion:

Quote:
Will we have two of characters due to the time travel?
No, this isn't a time travel or paradox story, it is about going to Draenor.

I have no friggin idea what's going on. Are we time traveling, or are we not time traveling? They mentioned time travel, and Draenor has been destroyed for a long time. But then it's not a time travel story? The Dark Portal is turning red? What does that even mean?

The Ice Stone has melted?

Sounds like the writers watched too much LOST and decided that time travel/changing is the only thing left to do.

Interesting that they finally added the boost-to-x-level [90] to an expansion.

lol! I forgot/didn't know that all tanks just cleave now anyway. I played all of 1 hour of MoP (free trial thingy), before realizing how long it would take to level up and I stopped.

Just add in a mage trying to sheep something and you'll be all set. Smiley: nod

Yeah, this REALLY isn't a good start.

All we know is that they said Garrosh is going back in time and changing the past to create a new timeline, and that we're fighting long-dead Orcs (who were long-dead Orcs).

How the present timeline could be anything remotely like what it was, if all those powerful orc chieftains survived, I have no idea. But the Horde being broken and downtrodden was essential for Thrall taking power.

The garrisons sound nifty, reminiscent of classic Warcraft, where you build various building and have peons do tasks, but I feel this will pull people away from the open world even more. Again, there's still limited information on the details of how it works so I could be completely wrong.

Furthermore, it's noted that your staff can gather and craft while you're offline, and get loot for your character as well. To me, it seems as if now it'll be even easier to get gear or weapons with minimal effort. Maybe it's just me.

Only time will tell... unless of course the timeline changes ....

I didn't read this thread, because I'm lazy just got home from work and my eyes can't "read" atm (they hurt Q.Q).
New World? or "Back in Time" type thing with Draenor? or Outlands just zones expanded type of thing?

From what I've read it wasn't entirely clear. Smiley: frown

I got the impression you go through the "dark portal" kind of thing and you're in a "back in time" Draenor kind of thing, or that the past there has been changed and it's a different present, or something. The zones appear to be largely "restored" versions of the outland zones.

Hm. Kind of disappointed if that is the map. It is Outland with 4 "new" areas and 3 renamed zones...
I took Draenor as a possible Azeroth size world that was shattered into the little Outland world we see.

I also think Azeroth is bigger than Bliz lets us see, just waiting to use for other xpacks, if more even come (or even more Warcraft games)

Heck this map makes me even question the other races that are found in Outland..

I am ready for a WC 4. But I'm kind of past thinking it's going to come. There's no chance of it until they decide to more firmly end the main plot lines in WoW and transition the plot to a new game.

They can keep WoW open, of course, and provide content that's less world changing. But the major players need to move on.

I just hope that they'll get back towards their storytelling roots. Because I'm not a fan of modern Blizz. They used to be at the very top of the list for favorite gaming companies, both for their products and their business practices. Now they've fallen QUITE a bit on both.

IMO the only way for a WC4 or others to happen, would be for them to take a giant step forward in time. That way it leaves enough "space" in a time line for WoW to continue. Heck I only started playing WoW because I wanted to see if the story continued after playing WC3.

Just FYI, I'm not playing WoW atm (not played since FFXIV came out), so I guess Gorrosh isn't killed at the end of the new raid? Fail lol. I hate him so much...

How does he get "teleported" back in time?

If this new expansion takes place in a paradox... ok. Now we are really stepping into Make Believe Land. Obviously (holy crap i spelled that right, drunk, on the 1st try) he must not be going back far enough to stop the Orcs from blowing up the planet, but/or maybe changed enough minds that we get this "new" Draenor.

Well it seems to work quite well for Game of Thrones, so perhaps they jumped on that train (of thought).
