Wish RAF worked in my country, but it doesn't.

Apparently, RAF is considered a pyramid scheme...

This.

I don't get why they can't just sell us the mounts for $25 OR use RAF, our choice. They still get their $25 either way, but we don't have to go through the hassle of making new accounts and a bunch of email addresses and crap.

Maybe as WoD approaches Sandi. Money is still a tad tight at the moment. Plus I really want to upgrade my computer before I get back into WoW. Rocking 5 fps on Iron Qon blows super chunks.

And It'd be likely worse after the expansion, because they always seem to make improvements to the graphics.... at the cost of FPS unless you got a computer that can keep up with it.

Though, the stat squish might help a small amount; instead of processing numbers in the millions, the computer'd be using less memory by processing numbers in the tens-hundreds of thousands instead, maybe which is one of the main reasons why they need to do the stat squish in the first place.

By "upgrade my computer" I mean buy a new one. This one is one of those $500 Walmart ones from 2007 that a friend gave me.

If you have $1k-$1.5 and do not have a issue with building your own PC, in this month's PC Gamer they basically take you step by step to build a decent rig. I'm thinking of building it/one myself.

And yea RAF... I'd RAF myself, I COULD dual-box (I own a program to do so), but I don't know yet. I do already own a few more copies of the game -.-

I couldn't. Took a lot of unnecessary damage from the crap he left on the ground (played a rogue). It was about that time that I decided to quit until I upgraded my computer. You should have seen my Elegon fight. I was rocking 1 fps on various parts of that fight. Smiley: lol

Would be nice to be able to play the game on something that isn't bare minimum.

Elegon would make me lag really bad for odd reasons. Some weeks it would be fine, some weeks we would wipe because I'd DC (was tank at the time).

Probably all of the transparency ******** with graphics rendering -- the floor being see-through, the boss itself being see-through, LOTS of flashy attacks and little particles flying everywhere, etc.

Before I upgraded the computer in my room, it would do ~80FPS in Valley of the Four Winds or some-crap.

On Elegon, I was getting ~20-25FPS with very noticeable choppiness and I'd oftentimes hear complaints from the rest of the raid about "omg laaaag" etc.

Hopefully Blizz learned their lesson about not stressing peoples' computers too much on boss fights. I know we all like to laugh at the "idiots" who fall on Elegon, but sometimes extremely low FPS can have something to do with that too.

Did some research on why Elegon lagged like he did. From what I could dig up shadow rendering was the big issue in that fight. -shrug-

Also even though my fps was about as low as one could get on various parts of that fight I had zero problem getting off the platform. The issue lies with people just tunneling the boss. Once a spark gets to those generator things all of them pop up. Regardless where you stand on that platform you can tell that they spawned and have plenty of time to get off the center platform, even with 1 fps. Won't hurt to hit a movement increase cool down though. Smiley: tongue

If that were why Elegon lags, then couldn't you just turn shadows off and the lag should disappear? I usually run with Shadows on the lowest or next-to-lowest setting and it was still cutting my FPS in Half (you hardly notice the shadows and they are one of the biggest resource eaters around, so I almost always turn them way down). There's surely gotta be more to it than that.

That's what the problem was. You had to turn shadow quality to "good". I don't get it but that is what people are saying fixed their issue on the forum. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/8196651430?page=5#88

Ahh.

And of course, it sounds like it still isn't fixed, a year+ later. lol.

But then, it isn't current content so it will likely never be fixed.

Yeah it is a pretty isolated issue. Well some people were also having trouble with it and Primordius but I can't say I did. I have a suspicion that it is not a simple solution so they put it on the "Not worth our time at the moment" list. Possibly if they have that problem later on with other raid bosses in WoD they will fix it.
