I've invested quite a bit into my cooking skills. I can usually double my energy spent by creating food, and am right now just storing up some big food items to use during my harvesting rounds. I usually try to hit up all the spice trees, egg plants, and fruit trees I can find. My house has 2 spice trees and a fruit tree. Last night after doing a world run to harvest a bunch of ingredients, I spent the rest of the time trying to finish all my quests I had acquired.

I did find one multi-colored hexagonal key, and stumbled upon the door for it. I entered the first area and wandered around, but instead of moving to the next area and continuing to explore, I decided to go back out. Turns out I couldn't get back in without another key. I was disappointed. I wonder what all is in these locked areas?

As far as storage goes, can I get bigger storage containers for my existing house, or do I have to sell this one and buy another with more storage?

I haven't grabbed a house yet, which is why I haven't really invested too much in the animal/plant skills. I also haven't really checked out the AH--everything's been going to favor so I can get emblems for skills.

General answers:

Dig, if you learn to use the blender well enough to make Earthshakers, they remove the Energy cost for mining for... 3 minutes? 5 minutes? One of those. Fantastic way to mine.

Proving your Rook Fighting Mettle is being temporarily removed, I think. Is that the one where you need to break the egg? I found it tough the first time, and easy after you knew where to jump (hint: use the shadowy tree branches).

Tirith: The locked doors are usually "Seam Streets" that link two distant areas. The highlights of them are the trippy graphics and sometimes finding better quoins. I got an exp quoin worth over 300 exp one time.

If your house doesn't have storage containers, yes, you need a new house Smiley: frown I thought every house had a cabinet, but perhaps not...? I believe you can also put bags in the cabinets, giving you a ton more space.

It's more the annoyance factor of having to collect the cherries to turn into the fruit needed to make the beverage. :P

I haven't sold on the Auction House, but I have purchased. Usually cause I'm too lazy to leave my house and want a quick item for a recipe brought to me by the flying frogs.

I bought a cheap 5,000 coin home. It had 3 dirt patches, 12 crop plots, a trophy shelf and an 18 storage closet. Seems enough for me for now. Yesterday I purchased a bunch of bags and a spice rack so I could start organizing my inventory better.

I've dumped most everything valuable into donations. I got some advanced grinder (alchemy?) from that wooden trader guy who shows up randomly (he wanted 1 butterfly lotion for it!) and I donated that, and it filled my donation gauge for Grendaline and gave me an emblem and lotto ticket. :) I don't even think i need lotion anymore to massage butterflies. I've been massaging them and milking them the past couple days without buying or having any lotion in my inventory. Must be because of my Animal Handling skill level.

I was walking around somewhere between East/West Spice (gathering allspice) and my home in Tamila, and I saw a "Crown Game" rocket. For 50 Currents I joined a king of the hill style game. Hold onto the crown for 60 seconds and you win.

I won, (only two other players) and got some decent reward exp. But then after I left, I got a HUGE 1000 favor bonus to POT and earned my emblem. All for playing a 1 minute game :)

What is a crown game rocket exactly?

It was a yellow colored thing that looked like a Rocket ship with a chimney stack (old oven style) coming off the side? Best as I can describe it.

Clicking on the activation button (red button on the side of it) prompted a "Do you want to pay 50c to play the Crown Game" Message.

Said yes, and it teleported me to a different area, and had a "waiting to start" message. It was one zone with multiple ladders and platforms, and little beer mugs that added time to your score (4 seconds each). Touching a person, just passing through them, stole the crown. First to 60 seconds wins. I wasn't expecting a free 1000 favor for winning, but it was awesome.

I finally finished Remote Herdkeeping. Now I have a feeder and meat collector in my yard, and tomorrow I'm going to look into getting supplies for my egg seasoner to get Butterfly Eggs and a butterfly milker.

I also participated in a new road construction... I provided a total of .73% of the resources.

Edit:
http://www.glitch-strategy.com/wiki/Game_of_Crowns

Seems like it may be a permanent structure? If so... seems like something you could easily exploit with a small group of friends.

I might need to head over there... I meant to have the emblem for... Lem?... by the end of today, so I could go on to BLIII from Mining IV, but it didn't happen.

I've done it several times tonight (winning!) and only got 200 exp each time. I think Tirith might have gotten the exp from leveling. Each win it;s 200 exp and 50 currants.

Won 7 so far; pretty easy :D

Leveling would give me 1000 favor? Never got a favor bonus before for leveling (or if I did, it wasn't that much...)

Edit:
I think I'm stupid :/
Thinking back, I was trying to figure out what could have given me 1000 favor.

I remember it said "You received 1000 favor for Pot. Go to a shrine to collect your emblem."
I bet it was not 1000 favor that time, but 1000 favor total and just telling me I was ready for an emblem...

That could be it. In any case, 200 exp still isn't bad.

Oh, and Rube is awesome. He trades some really good items for some basic crap. And running around that zone with the bandits yields some nice cocktails, food, and keys.

Nvm, managed to snag a cheap, small little apartment. Hope to upgrade to an actual house sometime soon, though.

I liked the Tree Houses better than the Apartment styled ones, A lot more space for farming and such.

I think there are Mining themed ones too, probably be a good bet for you. (thought I saw some cave dwellings).

I think the only differences in housing are size and aesthetics. They all have a cabinet, shelf for trophies, animals and plants.

The themes have some differences. Some themes have herb plots, some have crop plots, some have dirt patches (or dark dirt patches, for underground).

I have 8 butterflies floating around my house now. It's pretty annoying, but I get lots of milk.

Btw, does anyone else find the idea of drinking butterfly milk a little... strange?

Edit:
I can't seem to access the reality listings now that I have a house, so I can't see all the offerings.

1. Four zones make up the "Ancestral Lands." Check the wiki for them. They have a time limit debuff and bandits can steal your stuff, but the quoins you find there are much much better than normal.

2. Yay! If you plan on getting animals, make sure you get a feeder or they eat your crops Smiley: glare

3. Street projects are things you contribute supplies to in order to create a new street. Doing so will allow you to share in the rewards for the project, and the highest contributors get some extra goodies. I've never done one myself, so I can't tell you much more, sorry!
