I got 1553 PR, but our TR was lower so no legs yet, we faced some weird combos. We beat war/druid, but a Shockadin/Elemental wiped us. Argh, hate being a scrub Smiley: glare

What level? I remember it took me almost to level 50 before I was able to replace my last piece of mail.

lvl 40. I was quite lucky. Injected some cash from my Hunter main and hit the AH for most of it, but couldnt fine any shoulders, but luckily while grinding apes in STV, a random -of the Bear plate shoulders dropped.

Well I started doing kara again, did the first half today (up to and including Curator), probably next half tomorrow. Some notable drops that I got though:

Vambraces of Courage
Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden
Wrynn Dynasty Greaves

also Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch dropped but I let someone else get it since the bracers dropped.

I solo-tanked Kara for the very first time (had a Ret Pally pick up the alternate phases on Netherspite). It was a ton of fun, especially Moroes and Opera (R&J :D)

Just Dinged 70 on Thursday morning before work and since then I have done the following:

Rep grinded every faction for at least the heroic key and revered KoT for head enchant/legs.
Got my S2 Healing Mace and enchanted it +81 healing.
Started healing heroics with some friends and got enough tank gear to become uncrittable with 11.8k hp with kings (and with a little help from resilience).
Ran a full Kara for the first time with this toon with just 2 healers (1 being me) and 1 tank. Admittedly it was a badge run for most and the tank (friend of mine) is armour capped with 24k health in T5/T6 gear. But I was the only pally/shaman/rogue in the run and both T4 pieces dropped for me! Shoulders from Aran, Neck from Bane, Legs from chess and 1 more I forget.

Huge change over my druid who ran Kara to exalted and is still in half blues with no tier4 gloves.

Well, last night I finally tanked Nightbane and Prince. Talk about crazy! What was even more crazy was that we had four paladins on the run (two prot, 1 ret, 1 holy) so I was judging wisdom all night!

Nightbane was definitely a new experience, and one that cost us because of my noobishness. I kept judging wisdom when Nightbane dropped back down instead of going straight back to threat, and he kept smacking our holy priest. So I changed it up and Exorcised him before laying a judgement to keep him locked down. That would have been a good pro-tip to have beforehand.

Prince, well Prince is Prince. Got to Phase 2 and got unlucky a couple of times, had a couple of times where he hit (blocked) me four times in a row, no dodge, no parry, no miss. Basically went from 50% to 0 in no time flat. That just seems like a matter of me getting a little more pure avoidance and some more stam (just over 15k buffed right now) in my uncrushable gear to make him easier to deal with. But they were both a LOT of fun (although who likes staring at undead dragon and eredar nublies at close range?)

Threat was no problem on either of them, which was nice. In fact, the SP in the raid had a really old version of Omen that didn't wipe threat correctly after he transitioned phases, so it kept showing him at a hojillion threat, and after each phase I STILL caught up to him on the bar. Silly.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Hit 60 yesterday after taking quite a break from WoW and got my Charger today.

I was suprised at the ease I had in finding a group. Found a 70 pally willing to help and a 70 warlock that needed his mount. Went smoothly.

Just Dinged 70 on my Holy Pally. I hope to have my flying mount by this weekend so I can start Mech and Bot. other wise not sure where to go from here. Tried SSO dailies, but decided to hold off on them untill I can get bettered geared. It took me several hours to finish them. I wish I could say it was fun, but....

Just dinged 60 last night. Now I'm working on my mount questline... so I also ran through Scholo for the very first time last night. xD I enjoyed it, but it was rough! No D1 set drops for me. Heheh.

My prot Paladin finally hit 70 last night (YAY!)

My first toon to 70 since I have only been playing since April.

I am using Losie's guide extensively and trying to amass some basic gear that will at least get me in the door to Kara. Since I have only been 70 for less than 24 hours as I write this, I haven't got too much good gear yet, but hey, I just got started!

After I hit 70, I celebrated by tanking Durnholde, and had an epic win against the Epoch Hunter in which our druid, warlock, and mage all died, our holy priest finished the fight with like 35 health remaining, and I had about 60% of my health and 20% of my mana left. It was just me and the priest from 15% down to DEAD for the Epoch Hunter! The dead DPS'ers were impressed... lol.

I thought about that, but I just threw my shield and threw Hammer of Wrath and got him down to about 8% and then I kept slogging as the priest kept healing me (and himself when he had a chance), threw Hammer of Wrath again, and finally got him down. For whatever reason, I really hate to DI, and I wanted to see if we could get him down and just rez the DPS...

Luckily for me, it worked!

I'm in the same boat: if I believe we have a chance to down a boss, I'll just slug it out. I just love hearing people say things like, "OMG, Paladins are so overpowered!" and the like :)

Anyway, gratz on an "Epoch" fight! *cheesey, I know :P*

After ages of letting my 22 Paladin just sit there and do nothing, I started playing her again and have leveled her at least 1 level every time I have logged on.

She's now level 32, and Prot AoE specced (Though it's slow for pure grinding at the moment, but I guess that picks up a bit when I get the full 5/5 Reckoning)

Seems nobody has posted to this thread for a while!

I tanked Kara for the first time Saturday! We had to postpone our scheduled raid for 45 minutes because I needed one more Badge for my Libram of Repentance, so 5 of us went to Heroic UB and killed Hungarfen, and then after getting my Libram and repairing/restocking, it was FINALLY OFF TO KARA! (My first 70 and my first time there!)

Had a total of 4 or 5 Kara rookies in the group including me, but we managed to get Attumen on the second try and Moroes on the second try. We then had the Warrior tank try to MT Maiden, but could only get her to like 40%. We had a lot of melee DPS and not a lot of ranged, so that hurt. Finally after 3 utter fails, we let me try to MT Maiden. I mis-managed the pull slightly at first and didn't get her far enough away from the few ranged DPS that we had, so our MM Hunter bit it WAY to quick, but even with that, we got her down to 14%, which was much better than any of the other 3 times! By that point it was late, so we called it, but 2 bosses down on my first ever Kara run sure felt good, and as a BIG bonus, I won the tanking bracers off of Attumen! Can't wait to go back!

What were you doing when you were trying maiden with the Warrior tank? Were you cleansing?

Cleansing, judging Wisdom and adding my pitiful Prot Pally DPS... lol. Five of us had never run Kara, and the five who had run Kara hadn't done Maiden in a while (had done her on more advanced toons on other servers a long time ago, etc.), so our preparation/explanation of the fight wasn't as good as it should have been probably... I hear Maiden really shouldn't be THAT tough....

Probably wasn't a good idea that you were trying to hit the mob. You do so little damage as prot when you aren't tanking that the damage you were taking from her aura was putting strain on the healers. I don't know what healers you had, but it would have been better if you stepped back, and had a mod like grid or something so you can see who gets the Holy Fire debuff and cleanse it off them ASAP. This takes some strain off whatever healers were asigned for cleansing (although having 2 isn't a bad idea either) and would allow them to keep the tank and melee dps up.

Also, having too much melee dps means that Holy Wrath can bounce to more targets and do more damage. Standing back to Cleanse while the dps go at it means even less damage that you'll take meaning even less strain on the healers.

Jeromesimina - CONGRATZ!!! I know you've been preparing for this, and it's nice to hear you made it!

Getting Moroes on the 2nd try is impressive. That is a tough fight, especially if a bunch of people haven't been there before. Nice job.

Maiden - you'll get her down next try. Don't worry. The key to the fight is to tank her in the middle - right where she is. All healers and DPS stand on the middle step of her platform - spread around the circle. This way, healers can target everyone without the pillars getting in the way.

When she casts her 12s stun, the tank should move Maiden to a healer. That healer will take some damage, and "wake up". Then, they can start healing again. Or, if you have a Paladin healer, have them cast Blessing of Sacrifice (lowest rank) on tank right before she does the stun. Or, have healers make sure to HoT tank right before stun. Many options here.

However, the MOST important part of the fight is that someone stays on top of Cleanse. That is the high damage killer. Like Cap'n said - make sure to have something like grid. You'll see Maiden actually target the person about 1 second before casting Holy Fire on them. Whoever is on Cleanse duty should see that, and then they'll know who is about to get it. Thus, it can be cleansed almost immediately.

I'm sure you'll get her down next time.

Congrats again. Totally psyched you got in there, and got a nice drop :)

Very true, I thought this as I was reading it. Moroes is the first boss where you need good coordination to down him, if only 2 people mess up it can easily lead to a wipe, especially with inexperienced players. Gratz on that!
