I'm too lazy to check the sticky/sticky in progress. If I wasn't I'd read up on EJ. Smiley: tongue

I like Disc, and I believe Teacake is Holy. Both work. You may have to try both to see which you like more.

Got two specs so probably going shadow for leveling, need to know the optimal healing spec though.

There are three healing specs that all work now; Smite, Smite-less and Holy. Also a level would help.

80, obviously.
And I'm holy for now, just kinda winged the spec and I'll see what happens.

I'm have no idea what new holy is all about for the most part.

Lightwell is cool though.

Questing: Level as disc/shadow.

UnQuesting: Level as holy.

According strictly to the significant otherness: Disc seems a little weak for raiding yet. Holy is stronger, more difficult and more fun. Disc may be fine for instances (smite healing very viable for normals) but the SO is pretty firmly locked into holy at this point.

I helped level one of his priests to 85 using shadow and it's the bomb for questing. If you do venture out to quest and have a shadow build handy, use Mind Spike x3, MB, SW:D, etc. This works pretty well for the other trees as well. I did a few normal instances, played with Mind Control, Psychic Horror and Silence and consequently didn't get seriously into straight up 'stand and DPS' so I'll not venture an opinion about that. Seems competitive though.

So, OT means on-topic now? Or are we considered to be off-topic for an off-topic priest thread?

My head hurts now.

I think Disc's problem is that even though Blizz tried, it's still primarily a tank healing tree. Its raid healing comes somewhat through PoH, but mostly through single-target Penancing or Inner Focused Ghealing.

Holy has a few small problems tank healing, but can just place a Lightwell to do literally ALL raid healing for a bit. We'll definitely see a few minor disc buffs though, I reckon - mainly to AoE healing, though I wouldn't be surprised if they'd also throw a buff to Atonement/Archangel.

At the very least they could fix the innate ~2 second lag on Archangel. Right now, if you have 4 stacks of Evangelism, launch a Smite, and use Archangel as soon as it launches, you get a 4 stack Evangelism > Archangel and then proceed to end up at one stack of Evangelism. It's terrible, though I guess not as horrible as Holy's not-Renew-refreshing Renew-refreshing single-target heals in Serenity Chakra.

OT just means talk about anything you feel like. Smiley: tongue
And I prefer raidhealing over tankhealing, lightwell is fancypants and I have a shadow spec for leveling so all is good.

Well, all will be good once I get aaaalllll my keybinds for two specs set.

I was in the ah last night, and on vent listening to a guild run. We have a brand new 85 disc priest and he was main healing his first cataclysm dungeon. He copied my Vuhdo setup (including mouse spellbindings), and I heard our guild tank telling him to not do that again. The tank kept being Life Gripped away from the boss, when the priest was accidentally hitting the wrong mouse button.

Life Grip has been genius for me. Much trolling to be done and lulz to be had. I love 'denying' guildies who are just about to enter an instance portal.

It's also good as an actual spell though, both for obviously pointing out who's bringing the fail and saving their lives.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I've been using it myself.

Just saw this - I am Holy right now and my dual specs are Holy PVE and Holy PVP. Love them for those purposes. I will get around to trying Disc again at some point but the lulz to be had from Chastise alone make Holy too much fun for me to change right now.

But I will confess I hate doing my dailies as Holy in early-expansion gear when the mobs can still hit you hard and with so little mana. It's not that it's not doable, it's just inefficient and boring as all get-out. If I could have a third spec, I'd spec Shadow for solo efficiency in a heartbeat. I'm sure Disc is pretty good for that purpose too with the Smite goodies. I'm eager to level my farmers though so once I have the rep I need I can take my priest out for soloing as seldom as possible.

No, yes, no, I can't stress enough how true this is. At one point I wanted to get five levels of cooking to be able to learn another recipe, and decided I'd kill some mobs in Uldum that drop clams (which drop Blood Shrimps). This was literally minutes after I specced out of Archangel in my disc spec and decided to give holy a whirl, and about fifteen minutes before I was going to decide that the glyph of Spirit Tap is an absolute MUST if you EVER kill more than THREE mobs in a row as holy (or smiteless disc). I spend about an hour killing the ******** running out of mana every other mob and even nearly dying once or twice. As if just bad drop rates weren't enough...

After a long journey without water, the desert wanderer finally looks upon what seems to be an oasis. He sprints over there, dives in, and... ends up in the sand. Alas, 'twas an air reflection.

We finally get a new post and it's in the "off-topic thread", and by a hunter =P

I have no idea what Moz just said.

I'm in the middle of losing 5 pounds, so plenty of tea, but no cookies. :(

Moz is complaining about the lack of new posts here. Likening the priest forums to a desert, the new post to an oasis and the fact that said new post was an OT post by a hunter to a mere illusion.

"My" cookies? Please. If there were cookies in the house, they'd be gone. Luckily the post-holiday 5-pound slimdown is halfway over and I'll be reunited with some delicious nutty goodness in a couple of weeks. Mmm... cookies.
