So I noticed that most folks do not take Reflective Shield. If I remember correctly this used to work on folks besides the priest, making it threat free damage that was a nice addition to the damage absorption. Is this no longer the case, or was I always living in a fantasy world?

It no longer affects anyone but the priest.

I find it still useful for leveling/questing and a nice optional item in a PVP build.

Errr, I reckon the latter. I played rogue in TBC, so only vaguely recall of a time there where it affected other players, though that might just as well be my imagination. I'm 100% sure that Reflective Shields has only affected the priest throughout the entirity of Wrath, tho, and as far as we know, it still does.

Its hard to work into a PvP build these days. I loved having it in Wrath though, was the source of much lulz.

At the risk of sounding whiny: They should make this effect all shields.

That would be fun. Well anyway, thanks for the answers.

It's a nice talent for questing.

For PvP, you might sometimes see this in a build of a priest that does a lot of 2v2, but it's generally not considered worth the 2 TP.

I LOVE reflective damage (and by that I include things like Ret aura and thorns). I just think it's so much fun to picture the mobs beating me, but getting hurt in the process. It's instant revenge. :D

(Plus, I'm a tank at heart, and passive threat on anything hitting me is delicious).

I'm so sad that they changed thorns. :( And I would love if they lowered the amount reflected, let it affect others, and gave it threat. :D

Probably a bad change, overall, just saying I would adore how it affected me.

Yeah, I just think it is a cool mechanic. There is something about paying for the damage that you do to someone else that is fun. It could be cool if they included a talent in the shadow tree that simply made the shield do X damage to the target hitting it, where X is the amount that would have been absorbed. So in essence it would cause the same damage to the attacker that they do themselves... maybe cause the effect to also reduce threat. That way it would be a threat reduction tool that shadow could use on someone that was getting pounded on.
