Hey, druid herbalists, c'mere...Follow

So now you can pick flowers in about half a second in flight form - awesome isn't it?

Unfortunately, many of you have suddenly developed the manners of a goat and are now ninjaing herbs out from under people right and left - my guild chat's been lit up with people cussing you guys out for rolling in and snatching herbs from them in mid harvest.

"QQ moar!" you say?

Sorry goat boy, but this isn't QQing, this is a simple warning you'd do well to heed.

I can't imagine this behavior being limited strictly to my server, meaning that you folks are pissing off players across the entire game, which means that if it hasn't happened already, Blizz's forums are going to be lit up by complaints about you and that means that they're bound to fix this eventually.

Now we two things about Blizzard - 1) Blizz prefers the easiest (for them) fix possible and 2) the current folks running things apparently aren't all that fond of druids.

That means that the easiest fix for Blizz is to simply take away the ability to pick flowers in flight form and knowing Blizz, this will translate to losing the ability to perform any gathering skill in flight form and possibly even the other forms too.

If we're REALLY unlucky the "fix" could very well even prevent us from even looting and skinning in any of our forms (fix for the loot bug to come out some time next year).

So learn some manners before Blizz teaches them to you the hard way.

Care to explain why you might think it is "broadly generalizing"?

I am pretty sure rusttle isn't on one of my 4-5 servers, but I have seen the same complaints on my servers. It seems to be a lot of Taurens doing it just because they can, and they might think that since they can (because Blizzard gave them Cultivate) do it then it is alright to do so. I will admit that there are A LOT of Taurens out there that will not do this, but as they say ... one bad apple... yadda yadda yadda...

People (not all, mind you) have complained forever that letting druids farm in flight is "bad"... that really isn't the major complaint now... it's the Tauren's ability (Cultivate) to pick herbs crazy fast.

To prove my point... a non-Druid Tauren (no flight form) can land on a herb you are 25% done picking and they can click the herb while you are still "picking" it... and the Cultivate (Cultivation?) skill will let them outrun your picking ability and they can be back on their mount and gone before you get the "This item is already being used" error.

Now, I know it isn't every Tauren herbalist doing this, and maybe it isn't even 20% of the race/class/profession combo doing it, but it doesn't take 51% of the combo doing it before it raises an eyebrow at Blizzard... it only takes enough before one developer goes to the team and asks, "What can we do about it?"

At this point I am not minding "racing" Taurens to herbs, because certain herbs are spawning like mad, and even if Taurens are getting 5 herbs to my 1 herb... that 1 herb is usually getting picked by me in less time than what it use to take when I had to fly around a lot just to find one to pick.

That's exactly why it's broadly generalizing.

This. Particularly since he's coming into Alla's Druid forums to complain about it, when the sorts of players who do those things are rarely the kind who bother to read here.

Yeah, definitely broad generalizing. I try really hard to not steal herbs from fellow Hordies. Alliance are fair game though. =x Sometimes I accidentally will steal herbs from fellow Hordies, but it doesn't happen very often.

And to be frank, there are times on my DK when I fly to and start mining a node, but due to my crappy pc and the fast speed of my mount, another player doesn't pop into existence until after I click it. I have no way of knowing if they were actually there first or if they arrived after me, so I just mine/pick.

If I succeed, I know I got to it first (so either they are really slow, and I'm sorry, or I got to the node before them).

Frankly, with an increased rate, that would sometimes result in stealing the node. But I can't always know if someone is there unless I wait at the node. And I'm not going to do that, because it defeats the purpose of having a faster pick time and leaves me open to have someone ninja my node.

And I seriously doubt this is going to be "fixed." The fact of the matter is that nodes don't lock to the first person using them. I doubt they'll drop the racial without giving Tauren something else in its place (which I'd prefer, so by all means keep going).

Plus, there's no way Blizz is going to remove looting/etc. from forms. The outrage from that would be significantly more than the outrage that some Tauren Druids are 'stealing' nodes.

Honestly, I don't see it as being a problem that's even on Blizzard's radar right now. What, with all the glitches, PvP imbalance, PvE imbalance, etc.

Oh, and rusttle, putting a disclaimer that your post isn't QQing... doesn't stop the post from being a lot of QQing.

I agree with idiggory. I'm playing on a store bought laptop on low settings. Most of the time if someone is there they don't appear in front of me until it's too late for me or them.

Though I probably miss more herbs than I do steal. There have been countless times where become of low settings and slow reaction times from the server that a node won't appear until after I have past it. Usually I turn around and see either green or red writing, I just let it go and move on because it's usually too late by that point.

I won't steal if I see another person is there first, but I will if 2 of us are flying after the same node. But right now whiptail, which I'm pretty sure rusttle is complaining about spawns at fantastic rates where having one herb stolen from you every like 10-15 nodes won't really matter much. Plus if people are stealing from you....leave and wait a bit for them to leave...problem solved.

No broad generalization?
Combined with the downright denigrating tone of your posts you've just managed to make yourself look like a delusional moron again rusttle.

I'm certain it doesn't apply to me; I ninja most of my herbs in aquatic form these days.

You can root, ninja the herb, then switch to aquatic form and leave. No worrying about that pesky in-combat thing slowing you down anymore.

I have spoken to every single Druid in the game and we have agreed to double our efforts to ninja herbs.

Wait, that was what you wanted, wasn't it?

This thread is an embarassment to the druid forums here at Allakhazam.

Rusttle's post if it had been made by a different member of the community would have generated a bit of conversation on the topic. Because some of you have disagreed with some other previous posts from Rusttle (as I have as well) you have gone into attack mode.

Take it to a different forum if that is how you want to react. This has always been a nice friendly, inclusive forum and I would reall like to see it remain that way.

It's not what rusttle posts, it's how he posts it.
Every single thread he makes is a QQ thread where he rants and rages about whatever has gotten his fancy this time, preferably with a holier than thou attitude and poorly thought out arguments.

What Aethien said. Rusttle just makes it easy to hate on him with the way he phrases things. What I find most ironic is that his main is a druid, and he turns this all around on the rest of us in an insulting manner.

And seriously, wtf is the "goatboy" comment about? Only goatboys I know of are the draenei, and last I checked they can't be druids.

Druid taking a stab at the Druids here is what got under most people's skin, I suppose.

I just found it very ironic.

That's because another member of the community would have phrased it better. Rusttle stated it in an insulting and arrogant fashion which suggested that somehow all druids are ******** out to steal his nodes. There's a difference between being a friendly forum and accepting that anyone can come in and insult you while you just smile and nod and pretend they actually have a point.

I would still maintain that if someone else had posted, word for word, the exact same post, nobody would have an issue with it. I certainly have no problem with what he posted (despite having disagreed with other things he has posted) and didn't take it like a personal attack on me like some of you seem to have decided to.

If you don't like a post rate it down or post why you disagree, but please don't turn this forum into yet another WoW forum full of continual personal attacks. We don't need it.
