[Shaman] Glyph of Unleashed LightningFollow

So this glyph is a must have in my opinion. I absolutely love being able to keep dpsing in situations where I am being thrown all over the map. Combined with Fulmination, this is just amazing.

Specifically I am thinking of scenarios like Siamat in the Lost City of the Tol'vir. Between Phase 1 and 2, you get tossed in the air a bunch and potentially knocked off of the platform you are on. Everyone else stops DPSing. With Glyph of Unleashed Lightning you don't.

That my good friends, is awesome.

I love it too.

I wish I could get it for my PvP resto-shaman. There's enough times when I'm helping chase down an enemy FC where it would come in handy. Can't seem to pass on ones I have though, and Spiritwalker's Grace is just long enough to make me wish I had the glyph. Smiley: frown

My only issue with that glyph is that I can't cancel Lightning Bolt by jumping or moving. I've got the same issue with my Mage's talented Scorch.

I've tried /stopcasting macros, but I have a tendency to spam the button when the cast is about to finish, to avoid the latency, and using such a macro causes it to cancel the cast just before it finishes.

Maz, I tend to just spin around 180 degrees. If I have to cancel while running, I just stop strafing and turn away from the target.

Why would you want to cancel it? Cancelling casts is a loss in dps.

It's still worth it if you're interrupting to cast a heal or something.

Casting a heal as a dps is a dps loss. Smiley: schooled

Okay I'm mostly kidding with that one.

I love you pigtails! That is the exact reason I only cast Smite or Holy Fire on my Disc Priest.

Sometimes, on some bosses, finishing a cast results in a painful, fiery death.

Also, if I get a Lava Surge proc the instant I hit Lightning Bolt, is it still a DPS loss to cancel the cast and cast Lava Burst?

You have a point on that first comment. As to your second, yes because the time it takes you to interrupt that lightning bolt and then cast Lava Burst is wasted. It's not like the Lava Burst proc is going to go away in three seconds. It's best to just finish your LB cast, and then do Lava Burst.

If it takes you more than three seconds to cast a lightning bolt you may be Resto Spec...

I was just being silly Horse. But the casting time for lightning bolt is 2.5 sec, so without any haste, and resto spec you could round to 3 sec. With Elemental spec, and no haste consideration it is of course a 2 sec cast time.

I had the same problem on my shaman.. I just ended up turning my back to stop the cast since you have to be facing them
