New posts icon is broken.Follow

Just noticed it a couple days ago. Seems to do it across multiple platforms.

The bubble icon next to the posts and forums to indicate that there are or are not new posts (White, or Greyed Out) seems to not be working correctly. Sometimes showing new posts when there are none, sometimes showing no new posts when there are some.

FFXI Skin.
Firefox 34.0 (Windows 7)
Safari on iPhone 5S iOS 8.1.1

I don't really see a pattern to it.

I don't think it's related to that. Unless you nuked a post within the last minute on this topic. I read this topic and the new posts icon still appears as new posts. The topic itself is greyed out but the bubble icon remains white.

Edit: I will post my screenshot once I get to a position I can upload my phone to a site.

Edit: I think I found how to repeat it. If I use the forum categories overview to go to the last post in a specific forum, then go back to the forum categories overview it doesn't not register the post as being read for the bubble icon. It remains white (color on ffxi skin) but the thread title does register as read and grey out. Then if I enter the forum I see a white bubble but grey thread title. If I then read the thread again from inside the forum and go back to the forum itself the bubble is greyed out like it should be.
