Time for a new political thread!

So, that's it -- Trump is the new face of the Republican party and will be no doubt facing Clinton this November.

I wanted to post this. This stuff really needs to be moved to a different day, it's messing with my tv watching.

I'm sure it'll be another week or so of Kasich being touted as the savior, what with his amazing fourth place out of three placement.

Looks like a surprise (and meaningless) upset for Sanders in Indiana, too.

His win. Probably split delegates 45~ish to 38~ish. Not particularly interesting. More want to see how the Cruz fallout plays out.

Reince Priebus already said it was time for the party to unite around Trump!

Trump is promising that, when he's president, we'll be saying "Merry Christmas" again! Hooray! Our long national nightmare is over!

Not Trumpmas? He just lost my vote.

As of two (three?) hours ago Kasich is insisting on staying in until Trump crosses the finish line, wanting to recreate the final scenes of Cool Runnings I guess.

Trump hasn't been able to knock Kasich out of the race yet! Weak!

He's only 850 delegates behind, and only 520 delegates left so he totally has a chance.

It's almost like GOP voters want another Democrat in the White House. I loathe Hillary, but at least she's a politician and not a cartoon character.

Also, in before gbaji argues that Trump is and always was a true Scotsman who will be competitive against Hillary in November.

I truly fear for the future of your country.

Whether he were to win the GE or not is irrelevant. I think we need to reconsider which region of the world needs to be turned into glass.

So Kasich is taking advantage of now being the second place choice by sending out email to secure more funding. I guess the only real question left is how the RNC is planning on changing the "eight state minimum" rule 40 without having it work in Trump's favor.

They won't. The fight is over. Priebus already waved the white flag and accepted Trump as the standard bearer for the GOP. Some conservative pundits will denounce him, major donors will close their wallets rather than waste millions on watching Trump lose but there's no more organized push-back from the establishment. They'll fully embrace him and say "We have to stop Clinton!".

Well, the fights been over for a couple of months, and the sensible thing to do would be to just plan for the next election but if this cycle has shown anything it's that doing the sensible thing is not an option.

Did you just imply Hillary is a skilled politicians? LMAO....that's rich because she did such a bang up job as sec of state. Please remind all of us exactly what Hillary has accomplished in life...besides of course covering up her lecherous rapist husbands shall we say escapades.

So yeah if this election comes down to the economy then Hillary's scr*wed royally; unless of course Obama grants blanket amnesty to another 20 or 30 million Mexicans then all bets are off.

Love how it's already "wasted" money for anyone who supports Trump. Hillary can't beg people to come watch her while 10's of thousands swarm everywhere Trump goes. Remember that excitement from you liberal nuts 7 years ago? Well now you're getting a front seat view with the shoe being on the other foot.

Sanders gets bigger crowds than Clinton, too. How's that working out for him? Smiley: laugh

No need to debate "wasted" money since that's the GOP donors' opinion, not mine. If you think they should pump money into the race, take it up with them.

To be fair anyone that has the political savvy to get elected president of this country isn't really the kind of person that should be running it.
