What, going into other countries and telling them what to do? We got that covered.
No, each state needs to form their own military, own currency and own laws. Break out into civil wars and divide into 2 separate nations a few times. Have a genocide or two. Try to conquer each other every decade or so. Things like that.

Technically every state does have their own military and own laws. Besides, Texas says they're going to do that every few years.

Technically, New York consists of more than New york City. Doesn't make it relevant.

Kind of like how North America includes Canada.

Not really. If we're getting technical about North America, we're probably referring to the 20 other nations/states outside of US, Canada and Mexico.

If you want to take a shot at Canada, technically, we're relevant on a global scale.

Aw, snap!

Remember back in the day when what's-his-face from New Zealand would post and someone would make fun of NZ and he'd get all butthurt and start posting lists of shit New Zealand had done as though anyone cared?

Trump has promised to annex Canada, so you might want to start building a wall.

You also have a lot of moose too. Not that there's anything wrong with that necessarily; you just might want to back off a bit is all.

The problem is this: Many sanders voters thought there was a conspiracy to suppress them by people who were "neutral arbiters". Then said conspiracy was shown to be true. Now they are being told that they should just accept that this is the way things are, and if they don't get on board they are the problem people, not the people who 'rigged the system'. Keep in mind that the whole point of Sander's campaign was basically to cleanse the corruption that kept our society unequal, and to fight against the system in order to change it for the better.
When it came down to his career, Sanders played ball, like every other politician. If Sanders supporters are fighting against the system, they wouldn't be supporting Sanders.

Pot-smoking, super-socialist, surfing America-hater, iirc.

I'm not 100% about the "super-socialist" part to be honest; I'll go check forum history.

Fine. I will bite. I mean you only repeated it three times. You have to be thinking something. Why do I give myself too much credit? And, possibly, for what?

Happy?

That is quite possible. It is a common human condition. Do you have anything to add other than a vague statement of sorts ( it does not even qualify as a platitude... )?

You also said that once the nomination process got to states that let only Republicans vote that he'd never get the necessary votes because real Republicans and conservatives weren't going to vote for him and it was a liberal conspiracy.

Yeah. And I was wrong. See how that works? I've long since acknowledged that Trumps supporters are not just outsiders jumping into the party primaries, but also include a significant number of rank and file Republicans who are sick and tired of their own party backing down every time the going gets a bit tough. I don't have to agree with their assessment to accept that it exists.

The Dems, on the other hand, seem to be very actively sticking their heads in the sand and doing everything they can to just pretend that everything is fine. One of the big takeaways I'm getting from this convention is the totally disparate messages between what's said *in* the convention by those speaking and what's going on *outside* the convention, not just by the general public, but by many members of their own party. They're in massive denial. And it seems like their response to all of the problems and questions and scandals is to just pretend they don't exist. They're putting on as much glitz and glam as possible, but it's a paper thin facade.

And frankly, I don't think the public is buying it.

Oh. And just to hammer the point home, Clinton hiring DWS was quite possibly the most tone deaf thing I've ever seen done in politics. I mean, she didn't even wait a freaking day. That's just plain brazen.

That happens every election. What doesn't happen every election, is the previous living presidents of your own party dissing you.

Maybe. However, if DWS did what she was supposed to (resign and then support her candidate), it would have had the same result.

Hwell... wait wait wait.. change of plans.

Are you blaming your lack of eloquence on me? Perchance you are not explaining it properly? Or maybe your approach to argumentation is not exactly a high level of sophistry you would like us to believe?

Nah, you are right. Everyone else is to blame. It can't be you.

That's before the forum "died". There were a number of people like angrymnk. Now, the people I discuss with, we may disagree, but we understand each other.

This election is a gift that keeps on giving. I listened to a couple. At this time, no voicemail along the lines of "step #3 of operation Baka complete".

"Long since" being two months after everyone but "the media" acknowledging it, that is. For all the huff you give "the media," you're quite dependent on it.

Sure, but the real question is whether you get the irony here or are you really going to need it explained?
