Returning Player Looking for LSFollow

#1 Mar 04 2010 at 11:12 AM Rating: Decent
Hello all! I play Liarin on Ragnarok, a level 59 whm and 40-something smn as my main jobs. I haven't played FFXI steadily in a while, but I've recently been inspired into returning. So, I'm looking for a new home on Ragnarok while I dive into all the changes that the game has undergone.

I'm 23 and on the east coast. At the moment, I've got a work-at-home part-time job and looking for a full time job, so my availability is pretty much all over the place. Once I get settled I'll likely be a strictly in the evening kind of player.

In terms of an LS, I'm looking for an active, friendly, and mature group of players who enjoy doing events, socializing, helping out, and just having some good fun. Extra points if there's a roleplaying LS out there, but not necessary, since I know how rare those are. I'd prefer nothing too large, as I find I have a tendency to get really lost in super-busy linkshells.

But I'd love to see what my options are.

Thank you in advance!

Ordinarily I'd ask you to check out my own LS, but we're temporarily not-pearling due to a lot of recent growth. So I'm going to suggest a couple of others that are on the not-big side and are very friendly:

One is moghat.com

Another LS to consider is Triumvirate, although this morning I was unable to load their forum page, www.triumvirate-forum.com ... hope all is well there.

Best wishes! If you get stuck, try to find me (Grommet) in game.

Thanks for the help, Grommet. I actually think I was in an LS with you at some point, and I remember you being pretty awesome then too. :P

But yeah, I'll go ahead and check out those linkshells. Wish me luck!

Well, gosh, thanks! by what name might I remember you? If you are an old comrade, I might ask my leadership for an exception -- IF you want one. We aren't huge, but we are bigger than my former shell, Axiom, usually was. (I think I remember a Liarin, but I don't trust my memory.)

Yep, Liarin's my character name and I was actually in Axiom. I was only around for a few months since I was busy with college at the time, but I had really enjoyed my time in that shell. I was rather sad to find it empty when I logged in yesterday. :(

Yes, Trichocyst (the founder and thus shellholder) retired last fall. I think I drove him insane. Anyway, I and some new (to you; not new to the game) founded Cynosure in the months thereafter, and most of the remaining Axiomites chose to join us.

cynosure-online.org is our site. If you are interested in joining us, there is at least a good chance that the leadership as a whole (I'm not a dictator over there) will grant you an exception to our halt-in-pearlings policy, as you are an Old Axiomite. But we are not a smaller shell anymore, whereas you'd said you didn't want a large one. (Most weeknights we have about 19 folks on. Primetimes like Saturday nights can be more like 25.) If you choose not to apply, I won't be offended; we're certainly big enough as it is, hence the halt in pearlings 8) and either way, I look forward to seeing you again.

I'm still very short.

Thank you for the link. I'll take a look around. But either way, I'll definitely look you up in-game. Even if you're short. :P
