The MLG Fall Invitational has concluded and two teams have emerged victorious. Survey Suggests Call of Duty MMO May Be Planned

According to an article over at GossipGamers.com, Activision is using a survey to gather data on how to proceed with a new Call of Duty multiplayer game. Throw in a previous quote from Activision CEO Bobby Kotick regarding the FPS series and massively multiplayer games, and the rumor mill starts churning with the possibility that a Call of Duty MMO could be in the works.

According to the article, the survey asks gamers if they'd "be willing to pay a small fee to have early or exclusive access to game maps, special modes, and advanced tracking tools." Apparently this would all be optional content for those who wish to pay and would not be a requirement to play the game.

Here's where Kotick's quote comes in. He was asked at the Morgan Stanley Technical Conference how CoD could evolve into an MMO and how Activision would monetize such a move. Kotick said, "While a Call of Duty MMO may be a long way off, if it ever gets off the ground, it’s starting to sound like Activision execs may be giving it serious thought and we’d expect it to be a big focus for the publisher's ad revenue model."

So if you pair the survey on a possible micropayment plan for a Call of Duty multiplayer game wiith Kotick's comment, there's a chance Activision is looking into making a Call of Duty MMO. What do you think? Would you play the game if it became a reality?
