Transferring to a Square Enix Account

Though the deadline for transferring Playonline accounts over to the Square Enix Account Management system was extended through till mid-Fall to coincide with the additional payment plan adjustments they will be implementing, Square Enix would like to ask that all Final Fantasy XI players make the transition over in a timely manner. Details on where and how to go about the transfer process can be found in the links below the jump.

Click and Buy

Well, I thought this was going to be a hassle, but it really wasn't. It's probably because I play FFXIV as well and Click and Buy at the time of launch was the only option available. Even though it's free to play you still had to set up an account with them through Square Enix account management. So adding the XI's accounts wasn't hard. I had more problems with the 3D secure business through Playonline. My debt card I had used for 8 years didn't work anymore until I called them and they OK'd it for me. Now everything is together in one place. Just make sure your bank allows the transactions because Click and Buy is in Canada and the fraud dept. blocked my card because the international charges looked suspicious. Once I OK'd it that was fine too. It's the price you pay because there's so many crooks out there.
new payment method CLICK AND PAY
# Sep 03 2011 at 7:27 AM Rating: Decent
Well, I made the decision not to CLICK AND PAY but rather cancel my account. If my payment method for 5 years was not good enough than SE is not good enough for me. There are plenty of good MMORPG available without convoluted payment methods and unncessary fees. Players don't need SE but SE needs paying customers. It seems that the customer base is already shrinking based on the consolidation of servers to maintain a healthy population accross the game. Maybe 1 day SE management will learn what customer service really means.
