Frankly, I don't care if they are using fishing bots. If they want to, let 'em. I don't care. I'd rather have the knowledge that I have built my fishing skill on my own..... by the way - if you're fishing up moat carp using a bot - how the hell would a bot reload your ammo and organize your inventory?

I'd rather have the low prices that come with a flooded market.

Sure all of those legit fishermen get hurt because they can't sell their catches for ~1000000000g/stack but I'm comforted in the knowledge that if I ever needed to buy it, I wouldn't have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on it.

Now if only there were a Jaggedy-Eared-Jack bot...

Hey, I'm serious...they were 10K a stack...I thought it was insane too.

My experience with the GM was different than yours. He tried to catch the guys attention for about 15 minutes (this is after observing them for about the same length of time. After his attempts to contact the players failed; (they fished during the entire encounter without missing a beat or pausing)he thanked me for my "vigilance" and told me not to "-hesitate to contact a GM..." should I "-encounter another instance like this in the future." I don't know...he was prolly just trying to be a good customer relations rep....but I still felt like I helped a little. I dislike cheaters, liars, and griefers/bullies anyway.

[in]sanity has no relavence to AH pricing. i think when i first started using the AH, shell earrings were priced at something like 15k a piece. o_O

Uhmm....

First off, I reported a player I thought may be botting, as my entire guild has seen this guy at all hours of the day fishing up moat carp in various Windurst locations.

I posted it earlier, but I'll post it again, the GM response I was given by Titan GM Blikvix (or something like that, too lazy to dig up the screenshot. And yes, I thought he had a goblin name too, lol)"There is no need to report players like this. The server has an automated algorythm that checks for this sort of conduct. Please do not report any future worries, good day."

As for cost of moat carp, from around day 1 it's been 3.5-4k on my server (Titan) and never strayed from that. Considering cost put in that's a mild markup but anyone paying 10k a stack is outright unheard of. ¬_¬

Wish they would tell us why the hell they've done it twice now in two days, I'm wondering wtf is going on.

[Important Details]
Changes to the physical server structure will be effected

so one of my theories* is that damn new intern keeps trippin over the #@$^%% power cords, and they can't find a good place to put the damn server box out of reach of his foot.

(*: not remotely the most accurate or likely theory.. just the one that most amuses me.)
Fishing Bots

Hey...I don't know if this has anything to do with the "emergency maintenance" or not...but I reported three players in Bastok market zone for using 'Fishing Bots' at about 8:30PM EST These guys were not simply ignoring me while fishing....they were not physically present. They did not respond to the GM either. That is why some resources have dramatically dropped in price at the AH. It is NOT simply a matter of people figuring out what is selling well and flooding the market with items they worked at getting to make some Gil. It is a result of "Bot Farming" enmasse on items that are hot at the AH. That's why moat carp went from 10K a stack to 3K a stack in less than a week. I hope they busted those guys good and managed to sample the script that allowed them to Bot. Maybe they can figure out how to scan for that crap and put a stop to it.
It's a plot....

WHY is it they ALWAYS seem to do these during the best times for fishing?! I know it's a consipiracy Square Enix is plotting to ensure the Moat Carp population does not become extinct!

Let's whip out the calculator. 4 hours of downtime divided by 744 hours in january multiplied by fifteen bucks. Comes up to 8 cent.

You want a check or cash? I'll send you the 8 cents myself.
