It just makes no sence to me, SE makes how much $$$ every single month from this game and they cant even find a decent way for people to update? Like come on spend a few $$$ and help us out, this is a joke! Or do like battlenet use to do and let us DL the patch off there website or somthing, anything but **** off all your customers, any other type of bussines would go broke if they treated there customers like this.
I just cant believe that they care this little about keeping us all happy
WOW!

is S-E trying to prove that a lot of people need the update? this is sooo stupid... ways of allowing thousands of people to download the same thing efficiently and quickly and in a timely manner have already been developed, S-E needs to fix this.

just needed to relase some anger...i'm sure everyone feels the same and me complaining about it won't help, but...

Fox could probably turn this into a tv show!!!

"up next: When Nerds Attack!"
Read all the posts, here is what I gotta say.
# Apr 20 2005 at 8:42 PM Rating: Good
Issue #1: Unable to log in.

Seriously, if you've hit retry more than 2 times after reading about the log-in issues, you may need to think about how you spend your time. It specifically states that if you can't log-in, to try again in a couple of hours. Continually trying to log-in after this hoping you'll "get lucky" is rediculous.

If you managed to log-in, (Congratulations!). You're now doing what you do everyday. For the rest of us that can't. There are other things to do. Today is 4/20, and for those who know what I'm talking about I suggest celerbrating accordingly. Join me outside will you?

Issue #2 What I found interesting from new things added or changed.
Quote:
-A confirmation message will now appear when purchasing goods from another player's bazaar.
Example: Purchase 3 sleepshrooms for 570 gil?

This immediately caught my eye. Say good bye Bazaar Hustlers. Make gil the hard way just like the rest of us. Oh, and can you please intoduce me to the player that sells 3 sleepshrooms for 570gil?

Issue #3 The exp adjustment.
Well, I am one of the players who will greatly benefit from this change because I do not have one job level over 51. There are good things and bad things about it. But honestly people, when will the noobism stop?

There are players out there who consider anyone with a job lower than 70-75 a noob. This is just plain arrogant, stupid, and wrong. I pity these people because they are missing out on opportunities to meet great players. How long is it going to be before you are considered a noob if you don't have more than one job between 70-75?

I fear this is going to cause conflict among long time veterans of the game, and people like myself, who have been playing less than a year.

It's not fair for players on the same boat as me will probably be told constantly that we got to 75 the easy/quick way.

On the other boat, it's not fair to the players that have already achieved high levels, that the exp they've accumulated is now just a memory.

All I have to say is I'm not going to let either of these scenarios ruin the game for me. Leveling is not the only thing that has made the game fun for me. This has not changed. Niether before, or after the update.

It's 930est here, the update was "ready" at 420. . . yet I have been kicked from downloading every time I come back to my computer to check on it.

I am going to kill SE if I can't get on to check my plants and they die and I loose two weeks work. . .

Also now that it's so late at night, *** players are downloading by now so I prolly won't get any less congestion.
lowering xp tnl? Well that sucks...
# Apr 20 2005 at 8:18 PM Rating: Decent
My highest job is rdm 52 and I'm pissed about the lowering of xp tnl. Talk about cheapening not only other people's accomplishements, but what kind of lvl 75 am I going to be if I don't have as much experience? >.<

It doesn't matter what they make better, people like you have to ***** and complain about it. Why don't you just look at like "hey! now I don't need to party as much to level up" or "next time I take a job up this high, I don't have to waste endless hours of repetitive fighting!" But of course, you have to whine like a little girl because you lost your precious exp. You're not penalized in any way. You're just griping about how SE is making the game easier and more enjoyable and no one wants to hear it.

ive been playing ffxi for about a year now and ive noticed one thing that everyone has in common (yes even me). FFXI players love to complain; i cant tell you how many times ive heard someone say "i wish SE would fix 'blah' " and when SE does somthing about it its always "what was se thinking?" or "how does doing that help it?" not to mention the ammount of complaints because of the update. and what do you know IM COMPLAINING RIGHT NOW! so im going to do every one a favor and stfu and those who are complaining should too.
Good update

While I look forward to seeing the updates, it would be nice if it didn't take two days for me to even be able to check the version update. Last time SE did an update, it was 2 days after completion that I was finally able to get the update. 4 hours after the update I still cannot download it. "POL error: 1011" That means their network is clogged. Can't they provide mirror dl sites for us to DL from?

Major Curiosity. Will this Experience Gain system
effect higher level players and their tnl?? From reading all of the posts and the FFXI Website it seems like its not a major advantage. I need clarification. So a lvl 64 character no longer has to get 32000 exp to level?
Any help or someone whose actually got the update installed would be appreciated.

the higher ur current lvl, the more ur ******* e d.... they drease the xp u need to reach the next lvl but dont refund u in any way for xp u got for nothing thx to that ( like u got ur 30k XP for ur lvl that now only is 20k, means they just delete that 10k xp difference)

Not incredibly bad. At least not for me i guess.
My main job has always been Dark knight havent been able to level it consistently in almost a year.. got tired of seeking and the typical sad (Dark Knight) complaining story. with reduced Exp for TNL i feel more inclined to grind it out to get to 66 for Dark Knight Freedom from Hateration !! ^^ Spinning Slash <Yes Please!>
I can deal with the exp that i may loose if the ultimate result will be me a happier player in the end.
Thanks for the Reply :)

I'm just wondering if the decrease in xp needed to reach lv75 jobs isn't in some way indicatory of the fact that another lvl cap is coming in the future. So far as I can recall, none of the FF games have ever stopped prior to lv99, why would they change it now? I think maybe there's more to come within the next year, as Promathia still has the potential to be expanded a lot farther...just my 2 gil worth ^^

PS Yeah, I've read the posts about how SE has said there won't be any more lvl cap changes again...but they've changed their mind lots of times, you are downloading another UPDATE aren't you? LOL

I am appalled at the fact most people who have posted haven't payed attention to your first ls mates. I have restarted the ls I began with back in 2003. Most of my ls is around 50-60 now. These are the ones who have been playing since before the PS2 invasion. I realize the moans and gripes about how now there will be a crapload of High Level N00bs. But there have always been high level noobs. I could careless if you have a job 75 or not. It just means you have alot more free time then I do. As far as all the level 75 camps being overrun. Dont worry. SquEnix will more than likely bring about new areas for that as well. I have friends that play this game that are quitting like flies now as well. So this will just allow for me to replace there spots during some events I host.
The real meat and bones of this expansion lies with the new bazaar message. Totally needed. I have kicked people from pt's and kicked ls members out for seeing that they are selling shihei for 7k a piece. I asked them if they knew that it was per shihei and not stack only to hear "I know.. can you believe how much money ive made like this!!!" Yeah.. I can. /kick. Next they should allow gms to freeze accts for such dishonesty.
Yayy. A new Ballista area I can take my ls to. I'm gonna use this for LS Wars. This is gonna be cool. And On top of that I can exp thru Ballista. Fun and Exp can finally go together.
