I have Final Fantasy XI on wide screen PC but there dosent seem to be a way to make the game fit the screen any sergestions?

I have re-redownloaded Nvidia GFX driver.
Should I try lowering my GFX settings for the game itself?

Try windows start button > run > type dxdiag > click the display tab and verify that the dirrect 3d features are all enabled ^^

My computer has a Radeon 700 video card. Yes, I know it's below Minimum System Requirements, and I'm aware that the game "may not" play properly without meeting minimum system requirements....(I did beta testing on other offline games dealing with minimum system requirements.)

As soon as FFXI was released in the US, I ran the FFXI Benchmark....my score was below 999, which is a computer that can't play FFXI. (As a reference, the game "Tron 2.0" also wasn't playing properly on my computer.)

A few months later, I found out about new drivers for my video card, and went to download them and install them. On a whim, I went ahead and attempted to play Tron 2.0, and was able to play it perfectly. After finishing that game, I decided to re-download the Benchmark program and run it.....my score increased over 500, to about 1400, which sets it as an Easy Prey computer, able to play the game (but with difficulties.) I went ahead and bought the game. (Hey, even if it didn't work, at least I'd have the game for when I had a better video card!) The game played perfectly!

When the new version of the Benchmark came out prior to the CoP release, I ran it, and got a score of 1200 (100 less than previously.), which was still in the EP category.

Currently, my score ranges from 1100 to 1300, depending on what programs I have running in the background, and I've had very little problems playing the game for the past year I've had the game (two crashes to the desktop, and one complete game lockup.).

I know there are some games (like Everquest II and the Matrix Online) that will give you either a standard error or a program message if your computer is under minimum system requirements, and I was concerned that this update would do the same sort of thing. According to the phone rep I talked to, he doesn't anticipate that this will occur with this update.

But, if something does happen that prevents me from playing, oh well...I'll deal with it. I'll just have to cancel my content IDs and perhaps I'll have the money to get a better video card before the characters are deleted. I knew the risks when I bought the game, and there are other MMPORPGs that can run on my computer that I can play.

It's almost amusing how SE doesn't bother to test their software on various popular configurations, and instead just raises the minimum spec bar when problems crop up.

I find it hard to believe that the game runs fine on a PS2, yet on PC's that outperform a PS2 in every conceivable way, they manage to write code that doesn't run. I can sum up the development of the PC version of FFXI in one short sentence:

Poor capabilities checking.

ATI Mobility 7500 with 32MB on Ibm T30 here.
Is this update gonna make my comp work or are they just gonna jerk us around for a little more because so far ive been told from computer wize people that I cannot install an ATI Mobility 9000 or x700 on my comp so..... will this fix the problems present or just ***** us over still?

So is this something completely unrelated to what everyone's been experiencing. Or was this whole problem a hardware incompatability issue with the server? Now I'm just confused...
