61 bst and a little discouraged. i know the update was not meant to hurt us but the fact is it really has.not only does the mob disappear when you leave it but it reappears at a different lvl . ie: you leave an even match it may come back a tough. now any bst past 35 will realize this is very devastating to exping and will be hard on traditional exp parties as well because we will not be recycling the same 2 pets but roaming and wasting mobs inefficiently. please SE help us bst out it is a difficult job and now even harder. i do appreciate trying to stop mpk but this is not the way.

Two Problems I Saw After This Update

I saw two problems after this update:

1) In the Korrolaka Tunnel, a Spider started casting STONE. The message was in the same color as other spell casting start messages, plus I heard spell. I didn't see the spider casting, though.

2) When leaving Bastok Market, a guy was zoning with two Goblins on his tail. One of these Goblins disappeared after he zoned. The other one started walking around, but didn't disappear.

While the MPK improvements are wonderful, SE needs to consider something about the links. If I had been a lower level character I'm sure I'd be dead and with loss of XP.

I was wondering about that bug; I thought maybe the game was trying to tell me hidden NM monster pop locations....

Oh yeah, (9--1) FTW as a map position.

And things like (>-3) and such, too.

That was just absolutely insane... I was trying to figure out how they'd managed to ***** that up at all. :-)

Just wondering if anyone else ran into this. I was pulling Bark Tarantulas in DA and linked one. I pulled them back to my party to have the link slept, but when I reached camp, the link stopped and vanished and we took out the pulled monster. Hmm. It doesn't always work, but it was interesting.

Just discovered what this means. Some of the non-NM Named Monsters received upgrades to Notorious Monsters, to prevent them from being griefed to prevent progress in some quests and missions. I pretty much confirmed this one with Warchief Vatgit, who became notorious literally overnight.

I would love to be able to recharm, but I am guessing its just not in the cards, lol. I just end up charming the same mobs I fight. Crawler Vs. Crawler and such.

I am lvl 48Bst now!! lol... Good luck to all other BSTs out there.

Scholar... sorry dude, you don't sound like you know what you are talking about. You do seem like an angry lil kid or something.

Man is this Ando guy a ****** or what? This is a guy who obviously likes to run his mouth about things he doesn't know much about.

Beastmasters have always recharmed beasts. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean you have to be all ignorant on a website. Your inept opinion is not only inconsiderate but it is uneducated.

Ando, I would hate to go to a place that would allow you to consider yourself a scholar. You sound more like a 6th grade drop out. You just seem like some pissy little kid trying to be tough on the internet. People like you make me laugh, but I'll just end up feeling sorry for you.

SE,
The grammer for Diabolos's is still wrong.
It's Diabolos' not Diabolos's.

Diabolos's sounds wrong.

I'm surprised I am the first to comment on your mispelling of "grammer" (actually "grammar").
Oh and by the way, corruption is currently being investigated within your department.

Holy crap! This is 3rd grade stuff ppl. Our education system is in shambles. You use 's if it's singular and s' if it's plural and thats all. It doesn't matter what letter it ends in.

"Smith's dog" if Smith is one guy's name

"The Smiths' dog" if Smith is a family's name and hence refering to several ppl

and maybe that Jesus/Isis thing idk i never heard of that

Sorry but that is still wrong.

Smith is singlur, even if you're referring to a family.

A family is considered a group. And a group although it involves more than 1 person, is classified as a singlur.

So when you say a group owns something, you do not say: "That groups' dog"

Instead you should say: "That group's dog"

The same is with "Family, and Smith"

If you replace Smith with the word Family in your sentence, you will get the same as the example I used with group

"That familys' dog" is wrong.
"That family's dog" is correct.

English is a very confusing language.

Everything that is plural is a group o.O if what you said is true there would be no use for s' at all. What matters is if it's singular or plural. Some groups can be singular like when i said "family's name" in my 1st post -.-
"Family" is not the same as "Smiths" because family is singular and Smiths is plural.

Sorry, you're wrong. 's should always be used on any name, no matter if it ends in "s" or not. The one and only exception to this is if the name is ancient, such as Isis or Jesus.

Correct:
Russ's dog.
Jesus' ****.

Incorrect:
Wes' Star Trek collection.
Isis's webcam.
RE: Grammer Police
# Dec 20 2005 at 4:53 PM Rating: Decent
Actually where proper names end with 's' adding an ('s) can be used. such as "russ's dog was lost" The ('s) is added to show possession to Russ. Diabolos is a singular usage noun, so thus, ('s) may be used. If you're going to correct grammer, do it properly. And for god's sake, use the message board for something useful. "ooh I'm gonna comment on SE's improper grammar usage." What are you, a frickin english teacher?

Nope, sorry. From Elements of Style (which is the book on grammar), you'd need to use "Russ's dog" to be correct.

You can find a copy of the page here: http://www.bartleby.com/141/strunk.html but I'll quote from it to save you from clicking. :)

1. Form the possessive singular of nouns with 's.

Follow this rule whatever the final consonant.

This is an international forum, and -- thank goodness -- the entire world is not yet ruled by the iron hand of Strunk.

Less directive authorities (not least, Webster, as well as such British gurus as Fowler, Gowers and Fraser) take the view that language is dynamic and seek to advise following observation rather than to prescribe. For these, the test of clarity acts as a touchstone to determine good practice. The British trio advise that, for the possessive of names ending in 's', either "'s" or a simple additional apostrophe are in routine use; since both forms are clear, either is acceptable.

Gowers notes that whilst logic would suggest consistently adding "'s", this form is almost universally used with shorter nouns (as in the previously cited example "Russ's"), but that some authors prefer to use the simple apostrophe with longer nouns (i.e. "Diabolos'"). In other words, it's entirely a matter of preference.

Do I hear one cheer for the grammer (sic) police?

Ceridwen

Edit: changed "words" to "names" to clarify scope of discussion.

*twitch* I dislike making it "a matter of preference". Or rather, if it's going to be personal choice, the person should know and understand the rule before they decide to break it -- the change from norm should be purposeful, not unknowing.

Just my opinion on it. :)

Confirm that the servers were down for only two hours.

I was heading a party into Valkurm (we broke up, since I have to get showered and go out sooner or later ... thought I'd post this first), and I was pulling Snippers near the cliffs overlooking Siren Sands. Halfway through the pull, the Snipper de-aggroed and ... vanished.

did any of your party members have any form of agression from them though? like a Cure spell on you perhaps? if that's the case, then they would still be on their hate list, and return to finish the job, so to speak

or perhaps someone else in the party attacked one by accident? just a thought

No NaihlofKujata, sadly BST have not been heard. What this is saying is that there were a few situations (mobs) where the new systems was not working "properly". This update is correcting THAT, not returning BST to it's former fun state. </cry>

I'm wondering what new kinds of fun I can start having with the ~$30 a month I'm about to have freed up? >:)
