Changes/Additions to Chocobo Raising
Related Information>>

Kamp Kweh -- A place where adventurers can bring their chocobos to interact with others, as well as view the conditions of the other participants’ animals is now open for business.

The Chocobo Hot and Cold Game -- A new treasure-hunting activity for chocobos and their owners has been introduced.

image

A new quest to obtain the new chocobo ability “treasure finder” has been introduced. This ability will increase a chocobo’s ability to locate treasure when playing the Chocobo Hot and Cold Game.

Two new beneficial statuses “bursting with vitality” and “sparkling with intelligence” have been added. When a chocobo is affected by these, not only will training programs yield better results, but the chocobo will also be more receptive to physical and mental stimulation.

Previously, a chocobo being in love would only negatively affect the success rate of its training. However, now this status will sometimes benefit the chocobo.

When taking your chocobo for a walk, it may now find items for you.

Changes to Besieged

Players can now earn limit points by participating in Besieged.

When players are transported out of Al Zahbi due to player number restrictions, all HP-draining status effects will be removed.

An issue where, under rare circumstances, players who were KO’d during a siege of Al Zahbi lost experience points has been addressed.

Mog Locker capacity has been increased to 70 items.

Several new quests originating in the Treasures of Ah Urhgan area are now available.

Players can now confirm the Ashu Talif quest offer status by speaking with the NPC who originally accepted the offer.

The timing at which several Aht Urhgan mission events become available for viewing via the event replay feature has been adjusted.

Transportation to Tu’Lia

After meeting certain requirements, players will now be able to teleport to Tu’Lia from the Hall of Transference located within the spires of Holla, Dem, and Mea.

[Battle-Related]

Monster placement has been adjusted in the following areas: Bhaflau Thickets, Alzadaal Undersea Ruins, Caedarva Mire

The following paladin abilities/traits have been adjusted:

Sentinel
The effect of Sentinel will be changed from an increase in defense to straight damage mitigation.
Also, all actions taken while Sentinel is in effect will generate additional enmity, allowing the paladin to more easily gain and maintain an enemy’s attention.

Rampart
In addition to the defense bonus granted to party members within the area of effect, Rampart will now also provide a “Magic Shield” that will absorb a certain amount of magic damage in the same manner as the spell “Stoneskin.”

Shield Mastery
In addition to granting a TP bonus, the Shield Mastery job trait will also prevent interruption to spell casting when an enemy’s attack is blocked with a shield.

The casting time for all Absorb spells has been reduced from four seconds to two.

Blue Magic

Several new spells have been added, as well as the corresponding terms for the auto translate dictionary.

The following spells have been adjusted:
*The recast time for Filamented Hold and Chaotic Eye have been reduced
*The recast/casting time for Infrasonics has been reduced
*The recast time and MP required for casting Frightful Roar has been reduced.

Corsair Adjustments

A new job trait "Rapid Shot" has been added.

Quick Draw Accuracy
A corsair’s AGI will now affect the accuracy of Quick Draw. This will make it possible to improve the accuracy of Quick Draw by increasing the relevant attributes.

Quick Draw Recast Time
The recast time for Quick Draw will be reduced from 3 minutes to 1 minute.

In accordance with this change, the Group 1 merit point ability Quick Draw Recast will now reduce recast time by 2 seconds instead of 6 seconds.

Light Shot and Dark Shot
Light Shot and Dark Shot will be changed to have the following enfeebling effects instead of inflicting damage:

Light Shot: Sleep
Dark Shot: Dispel

*The Quick Draw additional effect of increasing the potency of enfeebling effects will remain unchanged.

Puppetmaster Adjustments

New high-level automaton weapon skills have been added.

New automaton attachments have been introduced.

New automaton emote motions have been added. An automaton will use these automatically when its master does.
blush/bow/cheer/clap/dance/goodbye/hurray/joy/panic/point/salute/surprised/wave

[Item-Related]

Several new pieces of equipment have been added.

The following items can now be stored with special NPCs:
bomb lantern, pumpkin lantern, mandra lantern, witch hat, coven hat

New synthesis/desynthesis recipes have been added.

The names of the following items have been changed:

sagacious cotton obi -> sagacious brocade obi
enthralling cotton obi -> enthralling brocade obi
deductive cotton obi -> deductive brocade obi

[System-Related]

Fellows will no longer disappear when changing areas or logging back in. However, a fellow cannot follow a player into an area where he/she cannot be called.

A new text command [/ignorepet] will also be introduced that will allow you to ignore the pets of others, including automatons, avatars, and charmed monsters.
The text command can be used in the following way:

/ignorepet: Displays current status when no subcommand is specified
/ignorepet on: Ignore pet targets
/ignorepet off: Allow pet targets

*While using [/ignorepet on], you will be unable to target others’ pets.
*You will always be able to target monsters’ pets, player character’s pets in PvP, and Fellows regardless of the ignorepet command.

The text command [/blockaid] will no longer turn off in the event a player has fallen in battle. Also, players will now be able to adjust the [/blockaid] settings while they are KO’d.

image

The following language buttons have been added to the Language feature under Party in the main menu:
French/German/Other
In addition to J and E, F/G/? will now appear in the search window when a player is seeking a party.

*As you now can select multiple buttons, the [Bilingual] button has been removed.

The following button under the main menu option “Friend List” has been changed:
Accept & Add -> Accept

In areas where use of a support job is limited, players will no longer be able to take advantage of certain support jobs’ wide scan abilities.

An issue concerning the font color of the auction house listing of woozyshrooms has been fixed.

Several new terms have been added to the auto translation feature.

Category Term
Game Terms Salvage
Game Terms Mog Locker
Text Commands /ignorepet

Due to the extreme popularity of the kraken club and trouble arising as a result of a large number of players attempting to acquire the item, the monster that previously dropped the club (Lord of Onzozo) will do so no longer. A new method of obtaining the item is currently under consideration and will be implemented shortly. There are no plans on changing the drop rate of the item in question. However, the development team would like to grant players more opportunities to obtain it.

Please check back here for further updates on this issue.

I like the Chocobo Hot and Cold because the game is an activity that lets use very own in Campina, Chocobo just to hunt for buried treasure in certain zones.
Get the clue people.

Well, Square Enix does own the game after all. If anything, the player-induced party mechanics are what's broken.

The luck system is fine. It's the player demand for item's that fit into a narrow minded perspective on how to play the game that causes such problems for when fortune dosen't smile your way on equipment that isn't MENT to be commonplace.

Additionally, consitering the three new sets that have come out, which are more teamwork-orientated than anything, those people familar with the system of earning your gear with less luck involved just got their wish.

But seriously, I hope players catch on and stop their elitist ideas of playing this game before SE reverts back to their older ways and starts severly nerfing jobs and sections to force players to play a differnt way.

Wouldnt mind seein all NM drops turned to Rare/Ex ( exception to crafting drops ). It would kill the RMT, and normal people would be able to get the
drop(s).

People who think that RMT will camp and try to sell the drop in treasure pool are crazy, u really think they'll sit there for hours, hoping that some1 will want to buy a drop? haha no, they'll be losing so much money, it wont be worth it for them anymore.

Think its a smart move by SE, but what i'd like to see is more important/needed drops tunred into Rare/Ex, sky god nms anyone?, or perhaps an O. kote.. after all , its kinda silly to make only the high value drops Rare/Ex.

No. I really HATE BCNMs, I can't stand them. I would MUCH rather camp an NM, because I LEAST I don't need to beg and shout for 2 or 5 other people, who all have to be a certian level, have the right gear, etc. etc. and not have one of them invoke the "your orb, your drop" rule, where they can get all the good drops, and I just get garbage. No, with NMs all I need is myself, and I don't need to farm tea coasters to do it(i'll just do BCNM 50, Treasures and Tribulations, thank you very much).

No more making NM drops rare/ex, because it will ***** over another good way to make money. I know that the RMT f*ck up the economy, but there isn't any way to deal with it except ***** about it, which does nothing. RMT are here, and they will always be here. For me, it is enough that SE does it's best to keep the situation under control.

Sorry Clefairy, but BCNM fights are like the cool, side quest fights that appear in every other Final Fantasy game and in this Online game in particular, it is an ingenious way of adding a large amount of content to the game, in the form of very special equipment you could not otherwise acquire, as well as bringing new friends together for a the purpose of overcoming great odds. And, since one person has to spend an orb they purchased using the seals that took them a month or so to collect, they Should have the option of keeping all the drops. However, most people that are trying to bring together a few friends to fight a BCNM are doing so to get one, or maybe 2, out of the dozen or so different possible drops. So in my experience, even though the person that bought the orb does deserve at least most, if not all, of the drops after the match, most people will share the drops for which they were not specifically looking to acquire.

However, my main point is this--if you think that it is an unfair unspoken rule that people who buy the orb should keep all of the drops they could use or desire for no particular reason, do what most BCNM fighters do, and join a kind linkshell, form a group with the 2-5 people from said linkshell that you need help from in order to fight your BCNM confrontation, and make sure the 2-5 people are either there to help you as a friend and commrade, or make sure the 2-5 people that you need to help you fight your BCNM also happen to need your help, as well as the help of the rest of the group, to fight their own BCNM or KSNM battles.

My point is simply this--everyone has beastmarks and kindred marks they need to use to confront BCNMs and KSNMs in order to get those specific and rare items they need for their job or for their own satisfaction. Take advantage of that, help someone defeat a BCNM or KSNM with Their orb, let them keep all the loot they want, and then remind them that it is their turn to help you defeat a BCNM or KSNM with your orb, so that you can acquire and keep the drops you need from the fight, and you keep all of the dropped loot.

This not just a multiplayer game, but an MMORPG. Their are more than enough cool people out their that will trade BCNM with your help with a BCNM with their help. Comprende?

Good luck to you, and if you need help with a BCNM20 or BCNM30 orb, I, Zaldor of Alexander am more than pleased to trade my fighting skills, given that after we slay the BCNM of yours, and you horde your treasure, you will donate your sword or club or healing magic or whatever to help me defeat my BCNM20 or BCNM30 fight I need so that I can get the loot I desperately need. Just like I need the Spell Scroll: Phalanx. I cannot get it any other way than finding help defeating a BCNM, as I am so poor, and I am a purist, and I do not buy gil from gilsellers so that I can buy Phalanx off of the AH for 500K, if it is actually there on the AH in the first place.

Happy Hunting!!!!

from Killing Ifrit forum (Ratchett):

Ok, just got this to work. I have completely finished ZM and CoP so I am not sure of the minimum requirements. I know you must have sky access and have finished at least CoP 8-3.

Grab yourself 3 clear chips from one of the goblins in the starter nations and take one to each of the large apps in the halls of transference. Trade one to each of them, once this is done, go to tav safehold and talk to the bard there (he's to the right of the bridge by a big rock) to change your title to Warrior of the Crystal (given to you for completing the pot fight CoP 8-3) Now go to Ru'Aun Gardens and step on one of the green teleporters. Viola, you can now warp to sky, you can't get back that way tho sadly.

Thanks to Tyrtruion for the info about the title. ^^

Clear Chip fits and repairs Holla Crag.. but then says you need to register data
appear to need to supply all 3 crags with a clear chip- awating NPC to reopen to confirm and see if then allows registration or entrance..

Got all 3 repaired -- all took a Clear Chip (21k each) but still getting the "you need to register data" BS when I try to use the device.

Just read all the stuff on Salvage...damn that looks like it might be a whole lotta fun! Can't wait to start seeing people delve into the task of figuring out strategies for it. The one thing I didn't see though was whether or not experience points can be lost or gained during Salvage. Guess i know what I'm gonna do when the update is over.

Oh and Kraken club?? OMG! I can see the RMT running to sell there clubs for double the price now...Oh well, maybe eventually I'll get one. I'm willing to bet that the club will end up being a KS drop. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'd love if they made it in the game where if you spend a good amount of time say... 20 hours or more you get rewarded per equipment piece or weapon.

This game is based so much on luck that it's annoying. I have spent probably 200 plus hours hunting several different weapons and equipments for nothing. No reward and all of that time spent waiting or killing mobs that drop nothing isn't fair. In WoW if you have a guild and put in some time and energy you are rewarded. In FFXI, it's like winning the powerball jackpot.

It sucks that one of the thf's best attributes totally gets killed off when RMT's **** up the game like this. There is so little to camp for items nowadays with a good money reward. Hell you can't even make a living hunting coffers. It's completely pointless. Yet I understand that it seems to be the only way to deal with RMT'ers. Take away all their oppurtunities hurts us and them... but what else could we do?

More BCNM's with the drops people actually want? I think it's about time most items are obtained this way. Yes it takes the fun out of it, but RMT'ers already take the fun out of it now.

"like winning the powerball jackpot"

exactly, ffxi doesn't care how skilled of a player you are they just want you to log in more time into the game, which means more money for them. They're going for the quantity of time played instead of quality, this has really pissed me so much about this game, if it weren't for my few friends who still plays I would have probably canceled my account a long time ago.

And SE's way of fixing and balancing the game is either ***** other jobs or ***** everyone else's way of game life.

That's just my observation . . . I did try WoW, the crappy graphics didn't work out for me. One thing SE got right is the way the got the graphics so well on the game.
