The following changes have been made to chocobo raising and chocobo racing:

1. Players can now request three different versions of their chocobos' daily updates.

  • Hear a detailed report: All cutscenes play while the VCS trainer gives a full report.
  • Hear a brief report: The VCS trainer gives a full report (cutscenes are not shown).
  • Skip the report: Both VCS trainer report and all accompanying cutscenes are not shown.

*Important scenes, such as when a chocobo hatches, will be shown even if a condensed update is requested.

2. Players can now feed their chocobos up to 4 items (food, medicine, etc.) at once. An update on how full the chocobo is will be given by the VCS trainer once, after the bird has eaten all the items. The following is the order in which chocobos will eat items when traded several different varieties at once:

  • First: Items that cure status ailments (gausebit wildgrass, etc.)
  • Second: Chocolixirs
  • Third: Items that affect attributes (San d'Orian carrot, etc.)
  • Fourth: Chocobo food (Gysahl greens, etc.)

*Only one chocotonic can be traded at a time. If a chocotonic is traded at the same time as other items, the chocobo will only drink the tonic and the remaining items will be returned to their owner.

3. An issue where the order in which chocobos crossed the finish line differed from the standings displayed after a race has been addressed.

Mog Locker capacity can now be increased to a maximum of 80 slots.

1. Experience points (limit points) will be awarded upon the completion of battlefields. This includes players who have not accepted or have previously completed the mission. However, this bonus can only be received once every 24 hours (Earth time).

Auto translator

I dont much like the change to auto translator.
I found it easier to type Lab(tab) for e.g to bring up Labyrinth of Onzozo.
Now have to relearn all the names for places.
Onz.Labyr, W.S. Altepa and so on.
No doubt you learn them over time so no big deal.

ok i want to know where the windowable mode update is in this this? i clearly remebering readin that they were going to make pc version windowable. besides that CoP wasnt that hard to begin with quit your bitcin quit being gimp learn your job and there is no problem. and yes dynamis coulda had the price lowered at least 250k for deflation purposes. all in all im some what satisfied with this update though.
umm ok nice update but...
# Jun 06 2007 at 2:08 PM Rating: Decent
Those CoP mission that have been updated are CoP mission that are more luck oriented then skill oriented. You can have a skilled party going in but still fail for bad luck. Also note that those 2 battles required heavy DD and not everyone fit into that role. So I have no complaint when SE decides to tone down the difficulty and made it less frustrating.

As for Dynamis price, there is no need to reduce the fee because of deflation. Dynamis fee, since it introduction, has always been set at 1 000 000 gil. And that was prior to the huge inflation two years ago.

Now I could be wrong, but I've been noticing a difference in monster pursual/speed boost after aggro, like they give up faster or don't speed up as much. It needs more testing, but has anyone else noticed a difference? (i.e. gobbler not following you across the map)

all you have to do is show your badge to the people. It is not a new quest, it is an old quest that requires talking to about 20 NPCs across the town zones. When you talk to them, there is an emote talking about your badge. Once you have talked to everyone you need to, you get a new Key Item (im at work at the moment, and dont remember the name of it). After that, you can trade him the required fee to teleport back to WhiteGate.

The quest for sandy is called Lure of the Wildcat.

So does this mean if I had a Suppa, and I wanted a Knight's one day I could throw the Suppa, repeat the quest, and pick a Knight's? And then if I wanted a Suppa again I could wait until the next tally, throw the Knight's away and get a Suppa again?
And its kind of unclear whether you would be able to get more than one at the same time, i.e. having a Suppanomimi and a Knight's at the same time? Or a Rajas ring and a Sattva ring?.

Overall, I'm excited, I think this was a good update

OMG it seems like SE is making the agem so freaking easy it isnt funny.
1st. No xp loss in any mission.. sandy, bastok, windy, new area's... I mean come on they are the simplest missions.

2nd. Snoll, Tenzen, Promies... are they forreal... it wasn't that hard in the first place.... It required a lot of patience and proper planning... not like some of the noobs or casual player are like OMG i want it now.... Are you like that in real life as well... (bet ya were born with a silver spoon in your mouth.

There are some good points to this update... throwing RA weps.. god knows i threw some stuff away and went to look for it and was like wtf... /sigh

Group 2 merits for new jobs... this has been long over due.... ones for the cor and blu seem pretty good... not sure how well the ones or pup are gonna work out.... wish the best to those who play Pup ^^

OP'n to the dunes to get to a party this has been long overdue as well. It was fun running your **** off from the mobs you argoed on the way to the dunes as your running and screaming to you r self run faster if I die before i zone im gonna go get my higher lv job and wipe the earth with ya.

Some more i can mention but not gonna make ya read anymore than you want to...

I kind of liked that you had to xp through most regions in order to OP out there. This will be convenient, but I liked having complete n00bs being killed on the way to valkurm, call it natural selection.

It looks like theyre trying to pull people away from Jeuno and Whitegate, and get them to hang out in the 3 main cities more, which is interesting. It will certainly change AH strategies.

The changes to CoP... oi. I have been looking forward to the challenge, and theres not as much to look forward to now. It looks like they basically handed Snoll Tzar over on a plate, as salts take 1 sec to use and are no longer rare or ex.

I am personally glad that recollections and animas are AHable now, as I've had some of each in my inventory for months and I do a tactics pearl quest every week. That'll just be another income source for me.

By "iorite", do they mean diorite? I didn't find any listing for iorite in the wiki. If so, changing it and not telling us where to find it is just sneaky.

tbh i doubt they will ever have an update to make DRK more scythe friendly cos then there would be no point in having a Gsrd in FFXI at all, seeing as just about every other job in the came has a low GSrd skill. even WAR dont have a high enough skill to pull it off...

SE could make a new job where their AF weapon is GSrd... :D

Yea SE made a lot of improvements nut when are they gonna make some that really matter. For example why is it that after over a year dynamis is still a mil gil to enter yet they lower enter fee for other things. . . the why do the drop rates in dynamis suck so bad . . . As far as im concerned until they make some real improvements the updates they made are useless. Come on they make promies easier cause some noobs cryied they 2 hard yet at least 25% of our server are done C.O.P if we can do it .....
