Once upon a time, Cora followed the ways of the Black Mage. She wanted to hurt things, mostly Orcs, really bad. She had a nasty temper from being orphaned as a child due to Orc raids. Then, one day, a kind soul showed her a way to control her anger, and showed her the ways of the White Mage. Cora wasn't sure what to make of things, so she went to study in Windurst to learn both types of magic. When she was finished, she returned to San D'Oria to seek guidance from the Priests there. Eventually, Cora decided that the ways of healing were better, and this gave her a chance to atone for past mistakes. She still studies and practices the ways of the Black Mage from time to time, but no longer uses anger to fuel that aspect of her life.
