The Katana can also be stolen from the NM by a THF. Nibin (cute taru THF) stole one and he also dropped another one at the end of the fight, so we got 2.

Time for me to test out the hidden effect.

Edit: There is no doubt that this katana damage increases as your HP decreases. I stopped healing myself for a few fights (those blaze sikes on the Million Eyes add up pretty fast)

Heres the results from the first fight which has already confirmed it for me. My main hand is Fudo and ooffhand this katana. the first number is Fudo and 2nd is Amanojaku.

47,35
45,29
44,44
56,43
35,33
miss,31
77,68 (both criticals)
96,83 (both criticals again)
44,36
113(crit), 54

im gonna skip to the end of the fight when i am in orange HP (about 33% at the end)

47,55
43,53
43,46
43,61
43, miss
45,miss
53,62
44,61

BTW i was sub WHM if those numbers seem low. The target was a DC Million eyes. It was VERY apparent that by the end of the fight this katana was outdamaging the Fudo every time. Although it the beginning it was much weaker.

The only problem i see is.... I had to intentionally take damage to get it to work.... NIN isnt about taking damage so... this might be a pointless item but its a very interesting weapon nonetheless.

Ama (ocean)
no (of)
jaku (spirit)

In Chinese and Japanese mythology, the amanojaku is a changeling, a water spirit that infiltrates the human world to play cruel tricks on people, by reading their minds and twisting their requests or desires to be used against them.

The Amanojaku is also known the Lord of the River (same characters, different meaning) and serves Bishamonten, one of the four deva kings of Buddhism as a minor demon.

"no" functions as a "'s" and not an "of". it's the other way around..

Actually "no" DOES function as "of"

ama no jaku translates to "Spirit of the Ocean"

however... the western learning of this adapt this to mean that "no" is like adding a possesive " 's "

Both are correct as this still translates to "Ocean's Spirit". This is just a more Western view of the tranlation.
Isn't this?...
