Background Information

Conceived by a collective of Bastokan armorers before the turn of the 7th century C.E., this plated leg armor reached the height of its popularity in the latter days of the Bastok - San d'Orian War. Bucking the trend of an era that favored heavy armor for foot-bound infantry, numerous innovations were applied to achieve a lightweight construction that minimized encumbrance for the wearer. Although the proliferation of mythril smithing limited its appearance to passing mentions in history tomes, the leg piece has recently begun to make a return to the fore. Recognizing the design's timeless practicality, the visionary Bastokan armorer, Ghemp, has taken hammer in hand and applied modern-day techniques to pound new life into this antique.
