Confirmed drop in Castle Zvahl, unlike what a previous poster said, but that was years ago. Just thought I'd update I suppose?? O_o Dunno the drop rate. We were killing our way to Shadowlord for fun when it dropped.

Im 100 woodworking 60 smithing 60 goldsmithing I have 7 tarutaru stools in my Mog for lightning energy, I have about a 60-70% of making without break. Good profit.. 19k each on my server... Hope this helps
Been hunting down troopers for 3 hrs, no drop. anyone knows were I can get one of this besides troopers.

They only drop from Troopers, however Alla is a bit wrong, only the Troopers in Davoi and Monastic Cavern drop these, if you were farming in another area then you wont get anything.

does this drop by trooper at Misareux Coast? I spent hrs killing troopers there without drop =(

was down skillin up today and it dropped of trooper in this big area to the left of map it isnt common gotta sit there and kill lots of stuff be patient it will drop eventually

I ran all over this map and only came across 2 troopers. Where is the best place to get them?

What is the best day to de-syn on?
LightningsDay, LightsDay, or DarksDay - depending on what your goals are (success vs. HQ). Since these don't HQ.. Lights or Lightnings.

Got 2 of these from Troopers as 50DRG/WHM when I was trying to get my letter from the Footsoldiers. Took two kills to get two of the Masks, I was quite surprised o_O
Has the drop rate been rised or something?

Heya, I got one last night while soloing up marksmanship vs demons in zvahl castle keep. There's an orc room just to the left of the zone entrance where a trooper spawns =)
Too bad I'd already gotten my mask when I was skilling up marksmanship in davoi, hehe.

This does definatly drop outside in davio in addition to monastic cavern have go the drop many times hope that helps as job THF 60 though

got this off Orcish Overlord today :D i was the puller since there is like 6 orcs along the way..
put up rdm buffs, invis, Eseal/sleepga the mobs closest to your camp, and sleep2/1 anything along the way to the Orcish Overlord. cast silence on it (most likely will resist) and run to your camp. pass up your party and go to zone and the overlord will be with your party and no bad orcs will come with it.The Overlord is a pld so you will have to dispell it and silence, you can aspir it too.

got 199 xp :)

I know how you feel yesterday I was killing time and level npc. I believe I kill least 5 trooper that was EP to me DRG60/WHM29 I got some seal and key for a chest no orc mask. Next I will try drg60/thief15 do not know if it work better or not.

I would recommend going inside the Monastic Cavern. I don't know if the "Found in Areas" section is separate, or just an extension of the mob list since Troopers exist in all of those areas, but the drop itself might be limited to the cavern, where the Overlord is.
If anyone can refute this, and have found the Orcmask outside of the cavern, please say so.
And I always recommend taking a thief along when you're hoping for things to drop.

Gold Orcmasks will drop from Orcish Troopers in both Monastic Cavern and Davoi. I have gotten them many times in both areas. A Thief will definitely help you get the drop faster.

Screenshot shows ex, but not rare, so you can have more than one but not trade or sell.

Can someone obtain more than one of these.
The drop rate is TERRIBLE on these. I took a 60+ THF with me and we got not a single drop in like 2 hours. On top of that the orcs seemed to aggro from miles away.
