I dont know how good this tactic would be... because the way i kill the Avatars in the mini battles... i dont melee at all, usually they die by the 3rd searing light. (except one time when searing light did way less than it was supposed to, turns out i had to use banish to kill it >.> lol)

why would you need dual weild?

but even if you activated the enchantment and made it ensilence not just and additional effect, avatars are beings of pure magic, so they most likely have very high mnd and int, if by some chance it did stick, it wouldnt last long.

maybe, just maybe, it might stick on shiva (isnt ice weak to wind)?

You can dual wield for some weapons in Avatar fights for the stats and abilities like dual wielding Hermit Clubs for the -25% casting intertuption delay from each to have -50% casting interruption delay.

The problem here is that like elementals and other creatures, their spells are natural abilities, not spells. So, given that it may stop the II spells that they cast... and if you are quick enough it might stop the en spell or the spike spell... But, you will not be able to silence their 2 hour, or their natural abilities (e.g. carbuncle has Poison Nails)... Since these attacks are considered weapon skills, or job abilities, and not spells.

Ensilence?
# Mar 15 2005 at 12:44 PM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know what ensilence does? From the name, it sounds like a mob gets silenced if it hits you. This sounds too good to be true, especially for level 12.

you are thinking of an effect like "Shock Spikes"... no, actually "Ensilence" is like the rdm spell "Enthunder".. it means that whenever you hit the mob, there will be an excellent chance of silencing it... not sure on percentage, but much better than the normal "Added effect"

historicly (game wise), "additional effect" effects triggered very sporatic.
where as "en" effects were every hit.

Thanks for the info guys :). I'll have to go try this one out against worms in altepa. I wonder if I equipped the dagger as a RNG and ensilenced myself and then unequipped the dagger. Would my Hawker's Knife silence the mob? Would my bolts/arrows silence the mob?

If you cast any En-spell, you can switch weapons and retain the En-effect. This works with melee weapons, not ranged.

Recipe caps at below level 29, since I got the recipe from the 3rd support guy.

Narrowing it down further...

I got the recipe from Sieglinde at 16 alchemy.

Given the level that I received the recipe and that it uses the Silence Dagger, it probably caps at no less than 13 and no more than 16.
