The Password Revealed

I'm making this post on all the colored chip forums that work with the strange apparati.

The Password is based off the first 3 characters of your name and the zone's number.

The first thing you want to do is decided which zone, the zones value is the starting value of the alphabet's number values. So, if you go to Wadi A = 00, but the Maze A = 07.

Now, once you have that get the first 3 letters of your name, and find the numeric value of them. Let's use ABE as an example. For Wadi, A = 00, B = 01, and E = 04. But, for the Maze, A = 07, B = 08 and E = 11. These are the first 6 numbers of the password.

To get the last 2 you need to take the value of your letters, and add them, i.e. ABE @ Wadi = 00+01+04 = 05, and ABE @ Maze = 07+08+11 = 26.

So, for the Password of ABE in Wadi you need 00010405. While ABE at Maze is 07081126.

I hope this makes sense to most of you. And here is the listing of the zone values.

Dangruf Wadi=00
Gusgen Mines=01
Crawler's Nest=02
Ordelle's Caves=03
Eldieme Necropolis=04
Outer Horutoto Ruins=05
Garlaige Citadel=06
Maze of Shakhrami=07

This does work.

MAybe we should check the Constalation charts and inpute the name of the constalation with the same type of elrement regardless of what day you try it, or not. . . Altough looking at it I don't see many 8 letter names on it. just an idea.

I have read all the information on VN boards and have come to silmilar conclusion that the power in these Strange Apparatuses lies in obtaining doctor status.

What i have tried, is that i went about it on a dective level... The voice of a young woman, i thought it could be a womans name, doctor I thought there is only one that i know of, Monebraux. If you see him in upper jueno there is a young lady next to him named Rosaline (8 letters mind you) i thought i hit it becuase when you talk to her she says that th doctor even works on machines. This must be some kind of clue. To no avail my search for the password on thie lead grew cold cuase i could never get any farther.

Passwords tried:
Rosaline
ROSALINE
rosaline
Wolfgang 3 variation
and others realted to the infirmary.

When i bought my colored chip for the first time i noticed that the name of the Gob that you buy them off of it Gaudylox, he mentions some thing about the under world which we know know is Movoopolos. Taking account for his accent i belive that it might have some thing to do with the english tale of Goldilocks and the three bears. Also SE has had plugged in manny things from different cultures, as i know manny of the dragon names are from Norse mythology, so why rule out english mythology. Any way one of the earlier tellings of the story is written by Robert Southey in a group of essays called .... "The Doctor" .. when i found this i was stunned ! this must be it surely ... yet i could not find an ebook of "The Doctor" or any of the other stories in the set. All i could find was that it was written by Robret Southey, and from many diferent websites comfirmed this. But no details...
Another dead end.

Additional Points
I then when going to trade an Infinty Core and a chip i was playing with the pass word input and found that there is 16 places to input. The vioce says an 8 digit password, 18 is double that.

Also the fact that there is 11 Apparati brings up the fact that although they may seem elmentlly coralated they may not be. I was looking at the star chart and found 14 constelations, i am thinking that it may be involved with it.

Trying to go around the wheel of the elements may also be a good idea, ie) fire, ice, wind, earth, and there respective places of apparati.

I have personally tried Gusgen mines on fires day and got an earth cluster, and Dangruf Wadi on fires day and got a Fire cluster.

Hope this helps maybe a new set of eyes will help solve this mystery.

PS sorry for my bad grammer and spelling, i am about to fall asleep.

Purpose

Please excuse the cross-post ...

There are several strange apparati spread among dungeons in Vana'diel ... Crawlers' Nest is just one of them:

Ordelle's Caves
Maze of Shakhrami
Gusgen Mines - Earth
Dangruf Wadi - Fire
Outer Horutoto Ruins - Lighting
Crawler's Nest - Water
Garlaige Citadel
Eldieme Necropolis
Raungmont Pass
Fei'Yin

... each dungeon seems to have a certain element associated with it that matches the color of the chip that you will use with the apparatus in that dungeon (you are given a clue as to the element when examining the Strange Apparatus for the first time).

Trading an Infinity Core and a chip to the apparati have yielded varying results ... there seems to be a great degree of randomness.

The chips can be purchased from goblin vendors for 21,000 gil. There is one in Northern San d'Oria near the carpenter's guild.

I have posted more information about my experiments and what I have found out at this thread at FFVault.

There's also a "Strange Appuratus" in King Ranperre's Tomb, and I'm fairly sure it is red, because of the red spot at the top. I have yet to trade it the infinity core and the red chip, but I hope to do so soon.

To anyone attempting to find this, it's in the lower level, very dangerous area, the lowest mobs check Easy Prey at 70, but you only need sneak. From the entrance, enter the lower area, and emerge at the maze. From the entrance, go straight, and follow the path. First left, and then right, immediatly after the left turn. (Sorry, my directions are quite vauge, I'm going on memory after visiting it only twice to EXP there.) Eventually, you end up at a stone platform with a ??? in the middle. Silent Oils or Sneak before you touch it. Once inside, stay to the right, there are lots of places to recast/reuse throughout the area. Eventually, you'll see hounds know as "Hati" and Spartoi Sorcerers and Warriors. In the room where the Spartois congregate, there will be a sort of ramp along the right wall,(keep an open mind when looking, that's all I can really identiy it by) follow it to the top, and walk through the wall. After you've passed through the wall, you'll be safe from aggro. Head to the back and pass the door.

I'm wondering if there's some correlation between this one and the one in Dangurf Wadi, as I hear it is red as well, so I'd definatly like to experiment. I am the cat, and curiousity is sure to kill me. :) Good luck, detectives!
