I doubt anyone will ever see this, but if you do, there's something that must be pointed out. The stats on the bitter corset are just like alla reports with one slight change:
acc-20
eva-20
"slow"+5%
ma.acc-1
MAB+2
Now look at the slow, it is in quotation marks. This is different from other gear with slow%+ such as hecatomb gear which has:
slow+% not "slow"+%
Does anyone actually own this gear? If so, could you test it out, this might just be a typo by SE.

How much does the -5% slow affect spell recast time cause just by un-equiping it doesn't mean there won't still be an affect.

I agree with the part of your statement that you shouldn't wear this if you are worried about the 1 MACC penalty. Typically that means this won't be too hot for RDM, but for BLM it should be fine. The part I hesitate to agree with is the part I quoted.
How about just macroing this in a few seconds before your spell finishes casting, then macroing it right back out? Build a macro that you can hit just before a spell is done firing off, such as the following:
/equip waist "Bitter Corset"
/wait 4
/equip waist "Penitent's Rope"
Then you get all the benefits, none of the drawbacks (except for the -1MACC, so don't hit the macro if you think that will be a problem for that particular cast).
It's a thought. ^^
All those negative effects for a tiny boost to MAB? There's no way in hell I'd equip that. Better to use Penitent's Rope for the INT bonus if you plan to be nuking.
Lower accuracy is likely to affect damage adversely anyway, so those MAB benefits probably won't amount to much. Secondly, mages have a bad enough time trying to avoid attacks as it is but with -20 evasion, you're a sitting duck! Oh, and lest we forget that that 5% slow is gonna play havok with your recast timers.
Hard to find any points of merit with this item.

i agree....this thing is damn worthless...except in that BCNM thing i heard about where all effects of your armor is supposedly reversed (i.e. MND +2 becomes MND -2). that's the only reason that the Stumbling Sandals would be worth getting...unless Maat actually DOES start with your stats when you go into the BC with him...but there's no way to actually prove that unless SE actually comes out and says yes or no on it...not that that will ever happen...
