Just tested this myself on EP and DC colibri's (10 EP, then 10DC). this sword has the OPPOSITE effect of the company sword, which means that with less poeple in party it does mroe damage (and mroe ppl = less dmg). i was testing it vs a WW anelace, and did it with 1, 3, and 3 members in pt.

on EP solo, WW anelace (dmg 34 atk+14) was doing 30-42 regular hits (no + atk or str gear added). with company fleuret i was swinging 40-61.

im not psoting everything i did becausew im lazy, but ive confirmed this has the opposite effect of company sword.

You were doing more damage with the fleuret primarily because it's a piercing weapon versus a slashing on colibris. What has the opposite effect is the mensur epee.

Not like Company Sword

I got this sword and I can testify that it does NOT work like a Company Sword. In a party, it was doing very poorly and even dragging damage down if used off-hand. I haven't had the chance to test it out solo yet due to the maintenance, but some have posted saying that it works the oppposite way of the Company Sword. That damage is higher with less people.

After spending an hour switching between the Joyuese and Company Fleuret in a full PT I can safely assume there is no hidden effect. The Joy was doing 46-60 per hit during the assault runs, while the Company was doing the same exact amount. I chose the Joy because it has only 1 base damage less then the Company, so the damage would be easy to compare. The only other thing I can think of is you might need the Company Sword in PT also...

I'm fairly certain this -doesn't- work like the Company Sword.

It's just an abnormally high-damage rapier for it's level.

Does this have the same hidden effect as the company sword, would you guess?
If this works like the Company Sword...

Company Sword - http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=3420

The company sword gives DMG+2 for every other party member you're with, at a maximum of DMG:56 Delay:264 from its DMG:46 Delay:264 with 5 other party members.
This sword will totally own if it works in the same way. DMG:46 Delay:224 is insane for a one handed sword at level 65, and it is the strongest DMG a RDM can wield after Excalibur and Caliburn, but with much lower delay than much other high damage swords, being tied with Mighty Talwar (a sword with much higher delay) only on Firesday. It probably can't come close to matching Joyeuse's DPS, and Martial Anelace would still be best for main handing in a DD situation, since you can't get Vorpal Blade /NIN and Savage Blade is highly TP based for damage, that is, the more TP you have, the damage goes up exponentially.
