Farmed 4 pop items the other day and am out here right now with a group that looks like this: blm/nin blm/nin rdm/nin rdm/nin thf sch
Truth is it's terribly easy with two blms and rdm/sch nukes. have gone 2/2 so far th4, new moon 5%.
I imagine that with rdm and blmx2 this could be done just about as easily, though it is nice to have someone along who can erase the odd gravity.
edit: now 3/3 on 5% new moon. we were able to kill it in about 3 minutes, just by having gravity on and nuking on the way to the zone. Didn't even get to the cave and it was dead.
edit: ended up 4/4 on 5% moon 1/4 on the gnat wing :p. Didn't bother zoning at all after the first run just kept bouncing hate around, was a lot of fun.
So, dark magic skill +5 with Int +8 or magic atk bonus + 5 and absorb + for drains....???....Im not an astrophyisis with formulas so anyone answer for me please.
Fought Bloodlapper 7 times now. (4 fights were my pop item). 0/4 with TH4 1/3 no TH
I think the early drop rates reported were skewed by full moon, or thereabouts. Around new moon, this is definitely not a 50% drop rate as wiki claims, though I may just be unlucky.
Gnat pellets on the other hand are very easy to get 4/12. Most kills I have waited so far for an item is 6. Now if only the mufflers would drop =/
Edit: got drop 1/4 Soloed the mob as 75 Rdm/nin when I got drop. Didn't bother DoT kiting, I took a page from my Blm solo book and just sleep nuked it. Mob has at least 12k HP, may be 13k, not enough room on log to fully retrace the amount of hp. Mob never resisted a sleep @ 314 feeb skill. Nuke resisted 20% of the time with ele torque and 2 ele merits. Hope this helps somebody out. Glad to be done with this.
Easy mob to duo with 2 lv75 Tarutaru BLMs with good enfeebling gear and merits. Without good enfeebling gear, this NM will resist sleep and gravity. Very difficult to bind. We had 2 BLMs bring the NM down to about 5% and let our SAM/THF deliver the final blow while the NM slept. 1. Pop NM 2. Sleep 3. Gravity 4. AM2/Tier4 Nuke 5. Rinse, repeat from step 2 About 1600-1800mp to kill
Ok, must have just been unlucky then. Glad to hear others had better luck with the drop rate. All told though, easy fight, so if at first you don't succeed, try try again!
