Here is a quick way to kind of tell....
If you have one in your inventory, sort it. Check the location of the item in you inventory. It will be located under foods/drinks and where MEDICINES should be. Most alchemy ingredients will be on the bottom (depending if it's a fish/food/etc.).

Im looking at it right now and its under medicines...
This liquid is often sold at the AH, primarily because it drops off Mammets when you kill them. It's theorized that there is an Alchemy recipe, but I'm not convinced of the truth of that.
Having not explored this area yet, these drops off THE mammets? The ones you kill in the BC? Or are there smaller, regular mob mammets you can farm these from? Anyone?

According to killingifrit, the BCNM mobs randomly change their job while you fight them. If you use this liquid on them, they stop on the job they're currently on.
ack...no one posted anything yet >< lol well anyways i just got one of these to drop on one of the riverne site #A01 BCNM mobs and we lost but was wondering if it might weaken them or something lol....but my guess its probly for alchemy anyone know?
